Had an overall positive experience, even if the weather didn’t cooperate with us! Was a little bit of construction on the road but not a huge deal. Home was as advertised with plenty of space for all. Host was extremely communicative and thorough. Enjoyed our stay!

Just a cute little place. Was clean and had everything we needed. It was a ladies weekend up there and we fully enjoyed this stay!

Super well-equipped with just about anything you could imagine needing for kitchen and for young children. A short, pleasant walk to the beach. Katherine checked in to make sure that our stay was going well.

If you read the various reviews, you eill get a good picture of this rental. So I won't repeat them. The number of beds for the price and location are great. And plenty of seating in dining and living rooms was plenty for all. (I have found this is not the case in all rentals.) The owner was very responsive to requests and questions we had. The information given for our preparation was super helpful. We guessed the cottage is about 100 years old but all the important things, kitchen, bathrooms and electrical are totally modern. You notice the old in the tiny closets, odd vents and creaky floors. The floors created a bit of consternation for us as it was impossible to move around quietly in the kitchen in order not to disturb the family with baby downstairs. And, the kitchen island lights reflect brightly through the opening at top of stairs. I only add these things for those to whom it would make a difference. The array of beach gear, kitchen items and games makes it a great choice if you will be flying and limited in what you bring. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

We had 6 friends come out for board games and breweries. The check in process was seamless. Our hostess was very communicative leading up to our stay. The kitchen was fully furnished with all the necessary pots, pans, utensils and appliances. Great location, 7 minutes from Meijer and Walmart. At least 8 breweries within 20 minutes. Awesome place, would highly recommend.

I came with my family to visit the tulips in Holland and explore a few of the smaller towns along Lake Michigan. Great location to do all that, in either direction! The cottage was clean and spacious. We had everything we needed, and then some. Katherine even offered us to come a night early, as the cleaning crew was finished. Will definitely be back if we want to stay in South Haven again. We had a great time.

My friends and I had a wonderful stay at the Happy Ours Cottage. Plenty of beds, eating space and entertainment room for 8 adults. Great location just a short walk to the beach. Would love to stay at this home again during season!

Listed beach in walking distance. Should mention that beach is only around 30 yards wide and is between private beaches on either side. When busy there is limited space. Suggest using car and traveling a couple of miles to North Beach. It has restrooms and concessions along with volleyball nets. Fantastic beach with lots of room

Close to beach and downtown

We had the best time in South Haven! The weather was perfect, the lake was magical, and Happy Ours housed our two families of 3 and 6 very comfortably! The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you could possibly need, plenty of towels and toilet paper, clean, organized, and homey. Lots of games, beach chairs, umbrella, and more! Location is excellent. Short walk to the beach and into town too, and a quick drive to Meijer which has literally everything. You can’t go wrong with this house!

As usual, this house was perfect for our needs. Lots of space to lounge inside and out. A MORE than perfectly equipped kitchen for our nightly feasts. A quick walk to Oak Street Beach—keeping our trip easy and relaxed, with no need to “plan and pack for” a day at the beach. We walked back at our lesiure.

Our family had a wonderful time visiting the South Haven area. It was our first time and felt lucky to have found Happy Ours Cottage to stay in. We had plenty of room for everyone in our family to spread out and have their own space, plus the short walk to the beach and downtown were perfect! Our host was very attentive and answered all of our questions quickly. We would love to come back and stay again!

Happy Ours was in a great location! Short walk to the Oak Street beach access, private backyard, close to downtown. Our four families all felt like we had plenty of space to be together but not cramped! Katherine was very responsive and helpful anytime we had a question! We hope to make it back again next year!

We enjoyed our stay. Communication was great from the time of booking and even after checkout there were messages to confirm things found in the house weren’t ours. Short walk to the beach. We walked around the neighborhood in the early mornings and neighbors were friendly. Only negative (for me) was the kitchen has an open decorative window over the stairs which means that even if you close the door going downstairs you hear everything going on upstairs. My plans to leave the baby downstairs with a monitor while I hung out upstairs with everyone else just wasn’t possible with the echo/all the noise.

Enjoyed a girls weekend! House was extremely clean and plenty of room for everyone. The host was responsive and will definitely reserve in the future.

Annual week in South Haven for family. We enjoyed our time at Happy Ours Cottage. It was close to the beach and downtown. We could walk everywhere. The neighborhood was quiet. Owner was very accommodating and quick to respond. Look forward to returning.

We really enjoyed our stay at this Southhaven house. It was a short walk to many beautiful lake Michigan beaches. All of the rooms were very spacious and comfortable. The backyard was cute for grilling and relaxing after being out all day. . The bathrooms were very nicely remodeled, The kitchen had plenty of room and places to sit. The living room was very comfortable. The owner was quick to reply and very helpful regarding any questions that we had. We would love to come back again if we have the opportunity!

This was our first time staying on north side of SH and Happy Ours Cottage was terrific. beautiful property, comfortable and convenient with the added bonus of high end appliances and lovely updated décor. Great cottage for us to share between 3 families with kids. Roomy, outfitted, and stocked kitchen to prepare meals for a large group and sit down to dine inside. Large game collection was appreciated along with large screen Internet connected TV with DVD collection. Beach toys and wagon available to be put to use at beach 3 blocks away. Quiet neighborhood without much traffic and great connections north & east for road biking. Small but nice backyard to relax outdoors (umbrella for shade for seating for a round table) and for kids to play in. Plenty of seating for folks to hangout outside on the patio or lawn.
