We’ve stayed here several times and will certainly be coming again, as the villa is beautiful with amazing views and close to shops and restaurants. What more could you ask for!

We were four adults and one toddler staying at the villa in June 23. With four average sized bedrooms and the spacious living area there was plenty of room for us to spread out. The kitchen was well equipped and the living area was very comfortable and stayed reasonably cool during the day. There are fans for every room - but no air-conditioning. The grounds are amazingly large. The star item is the large pool which was cleaned regularly. We loved the terrace outside the living room which had comfy chairs and a table with great views. The BBQ area was also a lovely outdoor place to sit and relax. The whirlpool at the back was a real hit with our family. Penny had a new shower room/wc put in at the back with access from the outside which we found useful. There are a lot of steps within the grounds and a few even within the house although there is no up-stairs. It was a bit tricky for our toddler. It meant we had to watch her all the time. The location is brilliant with a few restaurants and a supermarket just minutes walk away. We loved the Isabella restaurant in a stunning sea-front location. A bonus were beach towels which can save you a lot of room in your suitcase. There are two sandy beaches close by. The smaller one is about 10 minutes walk away and has a beach restaurant and the bigger one involves quite a number of steps over the cliffs but it is worth it. Altogether we loved our stay at the villa and resort and would recommend it to anyone. Thank you Penny.

We visited the Villa as a family of 6 adults for a week to celebrate a 60th birthday. From booking the Villa to checking out the communication from Penelope was faultless. Very friendly and helpful with recommendations, we tried most of the restaurants and all were brilliant. The Villa itself was lovely and just what we wanted. We enjoyed all the different areas, including the BBQ. A few outdoor lights for the evening would have been handy for cooking and playing cards. The little pool around the back needed maintenance so wasn’t working for us. The beds were comfy and the whole place was spacious. The area around was very quiet however the road was a little busier through the day. We did walk to Fornells from the resort across the seafront and rocks, took around 45 mins and not for the faint hearted/flip flops. We found a car was essential for our trip as we liked to explore the island as there wasn’t much to see/do in Plategs de Fornells itself.. Highly recommend Okapi for a local, and Isabella was a lovely location but not a huge menu. Good if you like sushi and a view. Caves of Xoiri were great for a view and quick drink. Cuitadella and Mohan good day trips. Water park (splash) was good if you’re looking for Abit of fun. Places were very quiet as end of season and a few places closed that same week so worth checking ahead. Overall a fantastic week in the sunshine and very relaxing place.

Casa Lavanda is a charming villa on a hillside overlooking the community of Platges de Fornells and the sea below. There are many excellent beaches nearby and a number of excellent restaurants in Platges and the nearby town of Fornells. The many outdoor spaces made the villa ideal for groups of 4 to 6 people. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Lovely villa with great pool. Few issues throughout the week some sorted some not. Did have a problem with rats which put us off using the outside furniture. Hopefully this will have been dealt with once we left.

The house is simply great, very true to what is shown in the pictures. The garden is great, the pool as well and the view from the porch stunning, with great sunsets over the bay. I would definitely come back!

A large and well presented villa with plenty of room and facilities. Location is perfect for nearby restaurants, a superb small and fairly quiet beach, and handy supermarket. Plenty of bus routes around the island.

We had a lovely week at the villa, location was very good close to beach, supermarket and restaurants. The garden and swimming pool are very well kept and the jacuzzi was positioned perfectly to take in the sunset in the evenings. Gill from the Management company looked after us very well and was very efficient and always at hand if we needed her.

We spent an enchanted week here. The villa is a dream with everything you need, and as the week went on and our shoulders untensed, we needed less and less. I thoroughly recommend this villa. From first booking to checkout was a breeze. The accommodation is great. It's well appointed, and it's very, very comfortable. The only drama we encountered was the spectacular view.

Lovely, clean, well equipped villa

This Villa was absolutely perfect for our family of grandparents, parents and young teens. Plenty of space, different areas inside and out to relax. The pool was the best part, the kids loved it and especially enjoyed swimming at night with the beautiful pool lights. The view is fabulous we loved watching the sunset behind the hills. The location is great close enough to walk to the beach, supermarkets, restaurants and bars. Penny the owner was great, as were any other staff we made contact with. Highly recommended. We look forward to going back again.

We had a great family holiday here for 6 adults and one child. The villa and gardens are spacious and fully equipped with everything you could need, great pool and outdoor Jacuzzi, a BBQ and outdoor and indoor dining areas. There is a fully equipped kitchen, plenty of wardrobe space and hangers plus TV and Wi-Fi if you need it. There is no aircon but rooms are equipped with large fans. The location is excellent, quiet and private, with a supermarket and 3 restaurants just a few minutes walk up the road and more options nearby. Fornells itself, with its marina, is only 5 minutes or so by car with lots more eating options and supermarket and there are activities such as snorkeling and kayaking etc available for the more active. The main towns, Mahon and Cuidadela are about half an hour's drive at opposite ends of the island. The owner, Penny, could not have been more helpful and in the event of any problems (we didn't have any) Gill from the property management company is only a couple of minutes away. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely week in the villa - the pool, grounds and view are especially great. Everything you need is provided and Penny was a great help and source of knowledge! The area has shops, bars and restaurants within walking distance and although Fornells is quite popular, it certainly felt that the villa was quiet and away from the crowds. We will certainly be back to Casa Lavanda so we can explore more of the Island....

Lovely villa, well appointed and equipped. Pool fantastic

We have just had a wonderful holiday with our grown up family in this well appointed villa in our favourite part of Menorca. The villa is very spacious and comfortable with good wifi. Within the villa there is ample dining space with a dining table and kitchen table, plus a fabulous circular table outside in the shaded BBQ area with ample seating for 8. The pool is a great size and we were very pleased to see that the pool guy came twice during our 10 night stay for to clean it. From a practical point of view there is ample wardrobe and drawer space in all the bedrooms and an abundance of hangers which i really appreciated. The showers are good and despite all of us getting ready in a short window of time, there was never any shortage off hot water. The landscaped gardens are beautiful and the veranda, with its sofa and chairs at the front of the property provided some lovely shade and an incredible view throughout the day. We did have one request of the owner as when we arrived there were no sunshades with the sun loungers. I have to say this was addressed very promptly and Gill from MC property management provided us with two fab shades with stands on behalf of Penny the owner. I feel that the owners genuinely care and want guests to really enjoy their stay, a lovely touch was a bottle of fizz waiting for us on our arrival. The villa is also conveniently located just 5 mins away from a small supermarket and 3 very good restaurants. I have to say we would without doubt return to this villa in the future.

The villa had four good sized bedrooms and two large bathrooms with very comfortable sofas and two tables perfect for indoor dining if the need arises. There was a large table outside with plenty of chairs and there was plenty of loungers. The pool was big and very clean as was the jacuzzi and it was lovely to have the choice of the two. The villa was very well equipped with plenty of crockery and glasses. It was very peaceful at the villa and we had a lovely holiday and will definetely be back as we love Platges de Fornells which has a lovely beach and good selection of restaurants on the doorstep,

We particularly enjoyed the garden and ate our meals on the terrace under the tree. The villa was comfortable and well-appointed.

We had a great stay here - two couples, grandma, and twenty-something grandson. I would say that the photos do not do the house or the grounds justice. The pool is a lovely place to relax round, and there are also numerous other places to gather - which we really liked. Often with holiday villas, if you have to eat indoors, things feel a bit sad - but here - the dining area and sitting room were very comfortable. The balcony to the front is a great spot for sun-downers, and the outside eating area comfortable, and private. The local beach - Tirant - is walking distance, and fun. This is also a good spot for walking - along the Cammi de Cavallis. We didn't rate the local bars, in the immediate vicinity, but the short hop into Fornells itself (a very nice walk along the rocks for all but Grandma) yields lots of restaurant and bars. Es Cranc particularly recommended. The owner is great to deal with, and her representative on-site attentative.

My husband and I have just returned from our holiday in playas de Fornells. We had a fantastic stay in Penny's villa with its lovely pool, comfortable sun loungers, beautiful 4 poster master bedroom and several patio areas to choose from. We spent most of our evenings watching the sun go down from the front patio. We love playas de Fornells and have been holidaying here for years. We would recommend Penny's villa to our friends and family as we were very well looked after and Penny has been extremely accommodating.

8 of us (4 adults, 4 children) shared this villa for 2 weeks in August 2016. The villa has four good sized bedrooms and a large lounge/dining area which actually was used very little as there is a lovely large patio area with barbecue as well as a verandah with spectacular views. What sets this villa apart is these outside areas as well as the lovely gardens and pool area. Playa de Fornells itself was a superb area, quiet and picturesque. The villa is a 2 min walk to the local supermarket which is fine but a little expensive so I would suggest stocking up at the larger supermarkets in the major towns if you have a car. There is a tapas bar very close by, the food here was mediocre but a great place for a drink with spectacular views and entertainment for the children. A further 3 restaurants are within a few minutes walk and all were good, if you get the chance though visit Ca Na Marga. This is in Ses Salines, approximately a mile away and is a meat lovers paradise with quality food cooked on an oak bbq and exceptional friendly service. Fornells itself is a lovely town with a marina and many restaurants and shops to buy your Menorcan shoes. It is 2 miles by road or you can walk the coastal (rocky) path which is a mile and good fun but a little too tough for younger children. The beach at Cala Tirant is a 10 min or so walk, a nice quiet beach with pedalo rental. The weather was in the high 20's until the last few days when it was mid 30's. When the heat got to this level air con would have been appreciated at night time, although fans were provided to help. Great holiday and we will be returning to Playa de Fornells at some point in the future.

Had a wonderful four week stay in this beautiful villa. Nothing was too much trouble for Gill the manager. Penny the owner was very approachable by email, very responsive and was keen that we enjoyed ourselves. The villa was cleaned thoroughly every week and clean towels twice a week. The cleaners were discreet and the pool and garden were well maintained. The description of the villa was correct and shops and bars were within easy walking distance. We enjoyed good meals in Es Mercadel (which is short drive away) as well as locally. I would thoroughly recommend this villa to anyone, both families and groups of friends.

If you are looking for a quiet house with stunning views then look no further. We rented this house for a week in August and spent each morning enjoying breakfast on the side terrace (completely secluded) and every evening watching the sunset from the front porch. The layout of the house works well for a family with teenagers, one master ensuite and then three other bedrooms with their own bathroom. There are a choice of dining areas (2 terraces, kitchen and dining room) and the pool and Jacuzzi ensure you are never bored! The house is on the edge of the developed area and within a 5-10 minute walk you have a choice of grocery stores, bars and restaurants. There is plenty of nightlife in Playa de Fornells but in this house you are not aware of it unless you go out and look for it. During the day you can walk to the main beach (less than 10 minutes) or choose from secluded coves around the town for swimming. There is also a fantastic cliff walk (very manageable for all abilities) that takes you into the town of Fornells. All in all this was one of the most relaxing weeks we have had in a long time and I would highly recommend this house.

We had an amazing week at the villa in July. Our party consisted of two families- eight of us in total- but we still had plenty of space. The villa is very well appointed and has a definite wow factor throughout. Wi-fi worked perfectly and there was UK TV though we never needed it- there's too much else to enjoy on the island! A lovely big garden with stunning views accross the bay with incredible sunsets. Great shady BBQ terrace. The pool was lovely, warm and clean plus the added luxury of a secluded jacuzzi at the back of the house which we all loved. The villa is a shortish (10/15mins) walk down to the lovely beach at Cala Tirant, kayaks can be hired here and diving/snorkeling is also available. It's also a great base from which to explore the stunning beaches on the north coast. Several lovely restaurants, a small supermarket (with delicious fresh pastries every morning) and one bar are a two minute walk up the road-don't miss the amazing Mojitos at Bar Okapi. Penny was so helpful throughout the booking process and was always easy to contact- thanks again for a truly wonderful holiday! The Spencers and Russells

We had a fantastic holiday here. The outside space is great, as are the views. The layout of the villa works very well. We hired bikes and cycled down to the restaurants in Fornells and the children loved the park there too! Thanks go to Penny, the booking was very efficent and smooth.

I have rented holiday villas on the algarve , cannaries , greek islands ,italy and france , I have to say this was as good as any and probably best overall. Great views , wonderful pool and gardens , well equiped . Excellent local situation ,loads of first class restaurants , easy access to Fornells Bay and the really first rate Sailing and Windsurfing School. All things considered a great place to have a family holiday ,with something for everyone .

Just back from a fantastic week here. This villa oozes wow factor. A stylish interior, very comfortable and outside different garden and patio areas ideal for our family group. The pool is a very good size and views from the villa out to sea are wonderful. The location is great, most towns within an easy drive. We visited the lovely Fornells town, Ciutadella, Es Castel and Sa Mesquida. The local beach is nearby and we had some great nights in the tapas bar just across the road. Good restaurants close-by. Penny was very helpful and friendly as was Gill who is in the office one minute away to help out with anything we might need. I highly recommend this villa and would certainly love to return. It was a most memorable holiday.
