it was a home from home but but better

I payed around $2000 for 4 nights. Just 3 days after booking it my flight changed and I was not going to be in Rovaniemi the first two nights I booked. It was still three weeks until the date of arrival and the owner kept $1000 from me even though they knew I couldn’t go into their apartment. They were absolutely not reasonable at all and didn’t want to refund any amount. They could have still booked their appartment to another person instead of keeping my money. But they decided to keep the reservation and don’t give back anything, not even comsidered just a little penalty. That’s not honest. They were saying my dates got not refund as it was holidays. But my plans changed just 3 days after the booking and a lot of time was left for them to keep offering the place to someone else. The worst persons ever.

the location and the chalet

Really loved our stay here. House was toasty warm and had everything that we needed as a family. We never ate out at a restaurant and the kitchen had everything. Enjoyed the coffee maker but with 3 kids we absolutely loved the drying cupboard! Never saw one before and fell in love with it! Sauna was very cool and the husband was in it every night. It was lovely and quiet and was a 5min drive to santa village and the ski slopes. Minutes away from the supermarket and booze shop too. Hosts were fabulous at letting us pay extra to check in early and check out late.

I missed having a little better kitchen and cooking utensils, especially knives. The ones there were useless and dull, insufficient for prepping food.

Clear instructions for almost all items. Great living space with all essential items for a stay of couple days. Close to a skiing resort and Santa village.

Few missing cleaning equipment (sponges and mops) Bit tight space for one room, but manageable

Collecting keys on arrival was great. Well prepared instructions, for example for using the fireplace. The dishwasher, washing machine and especially cloth dryers were great. Roofed parking space with electric plugs.

Adding espresso maker, shot glasses, wall frames, bigger TVs, bedside tables, and replacing two beds with sofas in the living room (B2) are our suggestions to improve the facilities.
