Pros: The View! Comfortable beds Soft linens Hot tub Welcome basket Cons: Safety concerns: Two dining room chairs (one budgie corded together; one had nails sticking out of it that ripped clothing); main level bathroom floor is collapsing around the toilet and has splitters; most of the decking is rotting and splintering; some of the doors off the main living space are permanently unable to open but not labeled as such (seems like a problem if there was a fire). The smoke detector on the main level was hanging by the wires. There appeared to be a smoke detector missing. Appearances: If you might be disturbed (or have young children that might be disturbed) by a lot of real stuffed dead animals then don’t rent this house! Every closet was full of seasonal decorations so not a lot of room to store suitcases or hang-up clothes. The whole house needs a facelift from the 1980s. Would have expected better given the rental cost. Cleaning: For the most part, this house was very clean except it has a lot of throw pillows and blankets that don’t appear to get washed after every rental. The grill was dirty-we left it better than we found it. Check out instructions: There were instructions in the pantry of the kitchen and also in the binder but they weren’t the same, especially regarding the HVAC and laundry procedures.

We had a wonderful stay in this incredibly cozy mountain house. The kids LOVED the hot tub, the swing under the terrace and the Xbox, and us parents adored the cozy living room with wood burning fireplace and a TV with Netflix and Prime for evening movie nights - and we enjoyed our post-hike relaxing time reading by the gas fire pit on the lower deck. Also - the master bedroom bed with memory foam mattress was a nice surprise for our backs..! Misty and tram keeps the house well stocked, so that although there is quite a long way to drive to the nearest grocery shop, you have all essentials you might need available for you in the kitchen. While there are a lot of houses all around in the wintergreen resort, the house still feels pretty secluded and private, with all the trees surrounding it. The view from the deck is also beautiful. We had a really good time - and loved the cozy atmosphere of the house. Thanks, Misty, for a wonderful time!
