Very cute place, and very nice host. Had everything we needed. If I had to make any complaints or would be that there was only 1 roll of toilet paper. And that there was no tea or coffee.

Excellent accommodation though we thought there would be 2 toilets in the one and a half bathrooms. Nice full sized appliances , comfy beds and nice linens. Lots of seating in varied areas. Great gardens and outdoor areas to sit.

We enjoyed our stay at Rixlandia. The property owner lives at the location and was very flexible regarding our arrival time. We enjoyed a "night in" with a fully equipped kitchen. It was a very clean accommodation at a very reasonably price. Thanks

This house was the most comfortable, beautiful and the cleanest we have ever stayed in. The bedrooms were roomy with plenty of storage for our things. The beds were very comfortable and made with clean comfortable bedding. The bathrooms were spotless and equipped with everything we needed. There was plenty of seating area for everyone to relax and watch tv. The kitchen and dining area opened up to a lovely , intimate and cozy outdoor sitting and dining area. It was the perfect place to relax and eat and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Our host welcomed us warmly and was always available to us to answer questions and any requests. Rick is well versed in the lore and history of the Island and we learned a lot more from him than anything we had read. Rick’s suggestions on towns to visit, places to explore and fabulous pubs to dine at gave us a more intimate experience. Of the island. I cannot recommend this house and Rick’s hospitality enough. It is the perfect get away and we definitely plan on returning again.

We had a short, one night stay at Ricks place. Rick was super friendly and check in was easy. The place was clean and the beds were comfy. We loved the patio and spent as much time as we could sitting out there listening to the local birdlife, including the neighbours chickens. We had everything we needed to make a nice dinner, although oven mitts would have been handy. There was a fair bit of traffic on the road nearby when we first arrived, but it quieted down as the evening wore on. Great stay! Would stay again.

Nothing fancy, but rural location, accommodations and personalities all easy to get along with and fit the bill for our needs. Good spot to explore the Cedar Point environs south of Nanaimo!

Very comfortable and clean property. The location is perfect for catching ferries to Gabriola Island and Tsawwassen. There is so much to see and do. The host, Rick, is super friendly and informative. All good!

We only had a short stopover at Rick's place during our roadtrip, but everything was wonderful. The apartment looked like the pictures and we even had an AC to keep us cool. If you stay here, you are surrounded by pure nature and wildlife. Thanks Rick for welcoming us into your home!

Beautiful location, a welcoming place, the landscape was amazing. There is as much or as little as you want to do in the area - lovely home for day trips, close and easy access to the ocean. Everything was exactly as it looked in the photos. Rix was very welcoming.

Rick was very kind and helpful and we enjoyed many good conversations with him while we were staying at his place; he also supplied us with pots that we were missing at the time of our stay. The place was organized and clean in most areas. Our only challenge was the small toilet seat and how close the basin was to the toilet that It felt somewhat uncomfortable. Aside from that, we enjoyed our stay at Rick’s place and visiting the farms nearby; everything else was great and as described. Thank you Rick for having us :)

The property is in a great countryside location close to Nanaimo. It is clean, spacious, beautiful, and well-kept. The owner took good care of us and checked in to make sure our stay was perfect. As a bonus the roosters from across the road were a wonderful alarm :) .

We really enjoyed our time here. Rick was nice to chat with. We discovered croquet because Rick had it set up in the front yard. The front patio is lovely and calming. We had a blast! We recommend this nice and quiet place 100%. Thanks Rick!

A pleasant spacious unit with all the conveniences of home. Upon arrival you might be greeted by a dog barking but all is fine. The setting is lovely and will appeal to gardeners.

Rick was welcoming and provided us with an emergency food and drinks pack after our ferry was late and we were unable to access a hired car. He checked on us to ensure we had everything we needed during our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the quiet location , midway between Parksville and Victoria. We would definitely recommend it to anyone for future use.

Rick was very helpful especially after our disastrous start with ferry being late and car rental closed. He kindly supplied us with milk, tea, bread etc until we were able to get ourselves sorted all day. Enjoyed our stay

We loved our short stay here! The songs of the birds and coffee on the porch were the highlight of the start of our trip. We will gladly stay again if we are in the area!

I was very happy with the property. The pictures are an exact match to the listing. The property was extremely clean, the beds were super comfortable, it was the best sleep I had in a long time! Its very quiet and relaxing. Rick was an awesome host, he greeted me when I arrived, and gave me the tour of the place. Even before I booked, I had asked Rick many questions and he had responded back rght away. Also, Rick mentioned to me about some trails nearby, l will definately have to check them out next time I am there. There is a gas station, doggy care center, all closeby too. I highly recommend this vacation rental. I plan on coming back in September for my Brother's weddding. Thank you Rick for having my family stay at your rental, we really enjoyed it! I hope to be back again soon.
