For close to $600 per night on a three-night stay, this rental property is totally unacceptable. Cleaning was poor and the property in dire need of maintenance and replacement of amenities. Vacaasa customer service was poor. The details of our experience in late July 2023: There were 5 cans of garbage and some loose garbage at the property. Some of the garbage cans had obviously been there for some time. The couch in the main living area was disgusting; it smelled, and there was food debris, a popsicle stick, and puzzle pieces under the cushions. Both Weber grills were filled with ashes. One of the grill brushes was broken in half and tossed down off the deck. The main viewing deck was unswept and filled with pine needles. The small table on the main deck is rubbish and needs to be thrown away. The property is completely overgrown with vegetation and needs attention. It was very difficult to pass down the stairs to the water because they were overgrown with blackberry vines. Only three dish tabs and one laundry tab at the property. The dishwasher did not clean properly, which may explain why much of the dishware was dirty when we checked in. The dryer did not work; had to take wet clothes to a coin-op laundry. Local vacasa property manager blew us off. We called him immediately after check-in, took him two days to respond and he didn't leave a message. Tried a few more times to follow up with him and he blocked our calls. We had to receive maintenance staff for the septic tank during our stay. So, no help from vacasa when we needed and asked for it, but we helped them by receiving the sewer repair crew. Complained to vacasa using 1-800 number and got $230 cleaning fee refunded, which is better than nothing. Overall, a very expensive and disappointing experience.
