Excellent beds and linining

Very clean, great staff, nice room and comfortable stay. Great to be able to walk everywhere.

Extremely Noisy, couldn’t sleep at all, very bad vibrating loud noise heard and feel on the mattress maybe the water boilers ! Thin walls felt other guest were in our room ! Love Marriott but this Monterey in particular is terrible. Won’t back

No free wifi, Ice maker on two floors not functioning. Very noisy property with noisy maintenance staff. Do yourself a favor and go across the street to portola away from all the street noise. Sounds like a bunch of drunkards at night outside.

The inside of the hotel looks fancy, but the outside is outdated. The parking place isn't convenient compared with other hotels nearby. But the staffs are welcome and room is very clean and comfortable.

I purchased two rooms, one was regular double beds the onther was an ADA room with no communication at checkout that they issued ua an ADA room. The beds were extremely low to the ground and uncomfortable, the counters and furtinure were as weel. This is not what I reserved or paid for. I was told there were no other rooms I could switch to. Bait and switch successfully implemented by Marriott to a rewards member. Great way to treat a loyal customer.

Centrally located, near shops and restaurants. Felt safe and the service was great.

The stay was great. But my only problem was the pocket door for the bathroom. It was hard to pull out and to close. Used both my hands as well as my husband to open and close. I really had to pull hard to open and close. Maybe you can check it so other visitors won’t have the same problem. So I give that a low score.

Great updated nice hotel. Very convenient location. The property was overall very nice. The walls are very thin though... you can literally hear everything going on/conversations in the rooms on the other sides of you.

It's ok.

We had a great time at the Marriott Monterey! The hotel was clean, quiet and in a great location (walkable to great restaurants, Fisherman’s Wharf and the beach). Our kids enjoyed the pool, and the staff were very kind to our kids—when we were unloading upon arrival, our toddler took a tumble and was crying. The hotel manager swooped in with mini stuffed animals for all three of our kids, totally turning the moment around for our toddler and making our kids feel very special and welcome. We would definitely return!

Breakfast buffet was great. Check in was fast and friendly.

Clean hotel with nice heated pool and restaurant. Nice place for a stay if u r visiting aquarium as u can take the trolly.

Very nice hotel. Was very clean and great staff. Right by all the activity and pier. Was excellent for taking whale cruises and walking.

Staff and service was great. The rooms are clean and equipped. We asked for a crib and microwave which they provided promptly. The hotel is huge and has lots of room, which makes the hallways noisy. The door was not sound proof and we could hear all the activities outside. Somebody was smoking weed and we could smell it in our room which was not pleasant. The pool was great, clean, and well equipped. Overall it’s a good hotel, but we would stay somewhere else next time because of the noise.

Great property, good location, walkable to all Monterey has to offer. Main photo is deceiving for hotel on hotels.com. Shows a beautiful lounge overlooking the bay. That is a function room and is locked to guests. Peekaboo view of the bay from our room. Staff was helpful and accommodating. Bed was uncomfortable for me and my husband, but may be ok for others.

A fun three days. Close to everything. A bit expensive but reasonable for the area and facility.

Had a great stay, staff were amazing :)

We came for the World's Toughest Row Event in Monterrey and stayed 3 days. The room was clean, correctly stocked and ready at 7 pm. The shower did leak as the washer in the shut off valve was worn down. We did not want to bother with the repair as it was never attended to do even by the staff who visited daily. The room set point had to be set at 60 F as the ventilation was a single register pointing to a wall at the far side of the room and was inadequate in design or performance. There was police activity on Friday night at 3 am with loud banging within the hotel. Doors at 5 am banging since there are no door retarders. The valet service was expensive (they park around the corner and down the road which we failed to recognize as we were tired for $3). The attendants scraped the vehicle and threw trash in the back of the car. I don't recommend the service. The restaurant staff were courteous and the head of the house on the Saturday night was very helpful when we were exhausted from the day at the dock by getting our food ready and calling us, unlike other Marriott residences e.g. Marriott in Baltimore Inner Harbor, when it was available for pickup. Overall, I would not stay here again. There are other properties in the vicinity that I would explore.
