I absolutely loved this hotel, it was absolutely stunning. The owners were really friendly and helpful, but also nice and chilled and left you to do your own thing. The room and communal areas to sit in were beautiful. It was so quiet and safe. The hotel is only two minutes walk to a local plaza/vistapoint with lots of coffee shops and places to eat. It’s also only around a 15 minute ( safe) walk to the Plaza de Armas. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Most charming place you can stay in the city. Everything was just perfect- staff, food, ambiance, room, decoration, bathroom, bed and mostly the blankets! It’s just 15 minutes walk to the main square in a nice and safe neighborhood. Great value!

The host is really friendly. Very nice decorated. Lots of TV channels. Though located a bit far from the city center closed to San Blas.

Close to the Mirador viewpoint and its restaurants where you can find queso hellado.

Great location, wonderful decor. Service was a bit sparse, but could always find somebody to help. Lovely breakfast service. Really my only complaint is that the beds are rock hard and there is one *really big* pillow, and one quite small pillow. So my sleep wasn't as sound as it could've been. Wife, on the other hand, loved the bedding, so to each their own. Would definitely recommend and/or return, though.

This is an exceotional boutique hotel, lovingly decorated and furnished in typical colonial style. Staying here was a delight, to relax after savouring the sights, sounds and tastes of Arequipa. We loved the walk into the city, 20 minutes, you take the river park and the old bridge leading you into the stunning heart of old Arequipa. Greta and the team at the hotel could not have been more welcoming, providing coca tea and an excellent breakfast.

Staying here was great! Such a beautiful place with a common courtyard in the middle. We are sad we could only stay one night. Very affordable.

This hotel is like a little paradise in Peru . So peaceful, clean, wonderful staff and fantastic shower ( big deal in South America ). We stayed twice, they minded our bags while we went on 3 day Colca Canyon trek. I would highly recommend this hotel, we will definitely stay here again if we ever come back

Beautifully designed hotel in local style, sophisticated looking. Spacious cosy lounges. Not far from the center - a 15 min walk with views of the city. Close to supermarkets, banks.
Very friendly staff, helpful, helped us with access to Internet form the front desk. Stored our luggage till our evening departure and let us stay on the premises while waiting for the bus to pick us up late in the evening.
Very big rooms with big beds. Contemporary big bathrooms with plenty of towels and toiletries. All rooms have their unique ambiance. With all that, very low cost.

The hotel is located in a beautiful neighborhood near the center where you can see one of the volcanoes. The hotel is extremely accurate in every detail and very clean, the staff very professional and friendly ready to accommodate every need.

The hotel is very nice, with a well decorated courtyard and well decorated room. The breakfast is good too. The only thing is not all of the taxi drivers know the location. since its on a one way street, there were several times taxi drivers took some time to find it. other than this, nice hotel.

The hostal is great. A little far from the centre, but still good. Its about a 20-30 minute walk. But it goes by quick. When you step out you feel like youre in the streets of Italy. When youre inside it feels like youre in a completely different place. We arrived at 1:30am after our bus was late picking us up from Paracas and took longer breaks on the way to Arequipa. The front staff were still there, even though your booking will say front desk is open until 10pm only. Front staff are there. Great cozy place. Pretty fancy for a hostal. I didnt mind the walking.

What an absolutely fantastic place! My partner and I stayed 3 nights and we loved Azul Colonial. The breakfast was too notch ( it costs $4 pp however considering how reasonable the room rate was we didn't mind!). The hotel was spotlessly clean and was decorated in a great style with a pretty courtyard where you cold relax. Most importantly the staff were so attentive, friendly and helpful - I would particularly single out the lady who served is breakfast everyday who is a true credit to the hotel. I'm addition, I was ill during my stay and they organised an English speaking doctor to come to the hotel to assess me. I honestly could not rate this hotel high enough. If you stay in Arequipa, you must stay at Azul Colonial! Thanks to everyone who made our stay so enjoyable!

Lovely and quirky hotel - fabulous courtyard with fountain with chairs dotted around. Very eclectic decorations. Bed very comfortable, super shower and best wifi that we experienced in Peru. Only downside is that its a taxi ride (about $2) to central Arequipa but the open top tour buses go past the bottom of the road and its a very nice neighborhood to stay in.

Wow...loved everything about this boutique hotel from the front door, the courtyard and the room. Excellent Wifi, Hot Water on demand and luxury bedding. Taxi ride is 6 Soles from Plaza der Armas or 20 Soles from the Airport. Hotel is not in the main town area but if you like to stay somewhere special and don't mind a taxi ride this could be for you. Staff don't speak English but I managed fine. Room serviced daily and breakfast included.

I've never used the word "charming" before for a hotel review, but this one deserves it. The place has character. It's not perfect, but I'm completely comfortable here. The bathroom is nice, the shower is large, the bedding warm and comfortable, the floor is tile, and the furnishings are in keeping with a Peruvian colonial city. When I say it's "not perfect", the imperfections add to the charm of the place. There are patches of bare wood on the doors and windows, the furniture is a bit rustic, and there are a couple places on the ceiling where it looks like there's been some water damage that has been patched but not repainted. One other thing I like is the use of simple furniture. There were two small benches at the foot of the bed when I arrived, and I moved them under a window where I could place my bag, and charge my electronics. There are nice lamps on the rustic bedside tables too.
The entrance to the hotel is on a small side street with just a large wooden door with a heavy brass knocker. When you enter, you enter into a small courtyard with some nice outdoor furniture and decorations. The lobby has a huge stone front desk, and the breakfast area is just off the courtyard in a small, but comfortable room that seats maybe ten people at a time, but could spill over into the courtyard if necessary. The rooms have outside entrances with shuttered twin doors. Whoever did the decor for the hotel did a good job.

Stayed 3 nights in total. First room was wonderful - very comfy beds and pillows. View of El Misti from our bathroom window. They kept our larger packs until we returned after a 2 day tour and our new room had floor tiles that cracked at each step and the subfloor sagged when you walked - felt like the floor could give way beneath us. The hotel is beautifully decorated - the best part of the experience. Oscar is very sweet and tries very hard. He seems to do a bit of everything. English is definitely a challenge overall at this hotel. They didn't have our booking nor two others who used internet booking sites that stayed at the same time as us ( one from the U.S and one from France). One last point- The description says it is a 1.5 km walk to Plaza D'Armas but it is closer to 3 kms

The staff is very friendly. They went beyond giving us very useful information on tours and attractions by letting us check out later without charging us extra since I was traveling with my two kids and our flight was late afternoon.

Clean, comfortable, great service. Rooms and courtyard furnished very nicely, as though by an interior designer. In a nice area. Cost 8 soles to/from the cruz del sur bus station.
