Perfect family home in a local, safe, walkable area. The room had a powerful AC, a safebox and a fridge - which really become essential items when in Cuba. The host Maye is incredibly helpful and thoughtful - she made my stay wonderful and I felt really taken care of. This is great value for money: you can reach anywhere in town on foot!

I really enjoyed my stay. The owner is very friendly and accommodating during your stay. It is one of the best deals you will find in the area. Malecon is a block away and there are a few local stores for your daily needs. Even Central Park is only about a 15 minute walk away.

Mayelin was a great host and very friendly and helpful. She has a very tiny, cute dog and a cat that hang around as well! The room was nice and she offered water, coffee, and prepared a wonderful breakfast that was only 300 pesos. Thank you Mayelin for the stay!

Incredibly nice and helpful family, centrally located 2 minutes from the Malecon and 10 minutes from Old Havana

Mayelin was very patient with my lack of conversational Spanish, and was able to sufficiently communicate with me about many subjects. She was also very conscientious and protective of me. Located a block from El Malecón and within walking distance of many points of interest. Truly an immersive cultural experience.

Enjoyed my stay with this lovely family. Good location, only 10 minutes walk from Havana centre. Hosts are very helpful and can arrange transport to/from airport. Also had working wii fii which is rarity in Havana. When I booked the room it said that breakfast was included but at the end it turned out that I had to pay extra for breakfast. I guess they need to update their listing as it said free breakfast included when I booked.

La Maye is an extremely cheap "casa particular" with an excellent and nice lady in a very practical location (even though ugly). Very good and cheap breakfasts and meals, too!

We stayed with Maye and her family on our trip to Cuba. They were very nice and welcomed us into their home. The location was good, one block from the Malecon and a 10 minute walk to Old Havana. Maye was very helpful with information. I would highly recommend a stay at their home for a true Cuban experience

Breakfast was simple and included but made with love and served as you wake up and go to the family kitchen. The host family are helpful (booked me a taxi, change USD to CUP). I would definitely rebook when I go back to Havana. Walkable to all parts of Havana. Next to the ocean! What are you waiting for at this rate?

Stayed with Mayelin and her great family for 3 weeks, room was great with comfortable bed, ac and large private bathroom. Breakfast is included daily consisting of egg as well as ham if that is your preference, a fruit bowl, fresh fruit juice and coffee. Considering I paid the equivalent of £10 per day for the room this was a great deal, the family also helps you book taxis and save money by avoiding the many scammers which unfortunately persist in Havana, I would recommend booking a room with a family rather than hotel as you get to know the authentic Cuba as well as help the families by booking with them.

If you need somewhere to stay in Havana I would wholeheartedly recommend staying at this property. staying with a Cuban family offers a more authentic experience of Cuban life. The whole family were so friendly and accommodating to my friend and I. The breakfast was tasty, would definitely recommend. The location was perfect for exploring central Havana, not far from Old or New Havana. The area is safe, the property was clean and traditional in style. We cannot thank the hosts, especially wonderful Mayelín for being one of the highlights of our stay in Havana - she was so kind and helpful. She also exchanged our money for us and gave us a very good rate, no hassle and was very quick and easy. Relatively close to airport. They also arranged a taxi to take us to Varadero. Cannot recommend this place enough! Big love.

The host Mayelin was amazing, kind, and helpful! They were very welcoming and I enjoyed my stay. It was very comfortable and they provided everything I needed. Also were helpful with giving info and answering any how to questions about the city. Highly recommend!

Beds and pillows were a bit lumpy and uncomfortable which is not so different than other casa particulars. Breakfast was okay. Suggests in future they included fruit.
