We had a lovely holiday here, with family, before our nephew’s wedding nearby. Rob and Jo were so helpful throughout and quick to reply to any queries. The villa is extremely well-equipped - they really have thought of everything !

We really enjoyed our two-week stay at Villa Diomedes. The location is slightly rural, but there are several towns within a short driving distance so this was not an issue. The Familia Superstore in San Vito is 6 km down the road and features specialty departments for meat, cheese and seafood, and we also enjoyed the well-stocked kitchen for home cooking. The main attraction (beyond the well-appointed 3 bed/3 bath villa itself) is clearly the large pool and terraces with a view of the Adriatic. The natural reserve and beaches of Torre Guaceto is about 15 minutes away by bike and highly recommended - we were please to find three bikes in the cellar, since the best beaches are very difficult to reach by other means. Take the route via Contrada Bufaleria and SP 37, which is the safest! You don't want to be on SP 35 on a bike... Amongst other drive-to attractions in the region we would highlight Ostuni (15 minutes), Lecce, Alberobello and Polignano a Mare (all 40 mins) and Matera (1H 45 mins) as the most interesting, but this is clearly a matter of taste. Planning, check-in and communication with the owners and caretaker was easy, friendly and super responsive and definitely in the top league of VRBO! We highly recommend this.

The property is in a superb location with amazing views over the pool and olive groves down towards the sparkling Mediterranean Sea ! Lots of places to relax either round the pool or on the shady veranda’s , which was very welcome as we had exceptionally hot weather for early June ! Villa was very comfortable too ! Josephine is a very helpful owner and sorted any hiccups we may of had quickly through a very friendly Antonio who looks after the property for her ! Specchiolla is very convenient for a small but well stocked supermarket and bakeries too , we frequently visited a family bakery called “Dolce & Salato “ which has very helpful and friendly owner and staff too , bread and focaccia is delicious ! We all had a lovely time thank you !

Die Villa Diomedes ist ein wirklich schönes und gut ausgestattetes Ferienhaus. Es entspricht voll der Beschreibung bei fewo-direkt. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt dort sehr genossen. Für den Strandaufenthalt empfiehlt sich der Strand im Naturschutzgebiet Torre Guaceto. In der Umgebung gibt es viele schöne Orte zu besichtigen, z.B. Carovigno, Oria, Ceglie Messapica und natürlich Ostuni (allerdings recht touristisch) sowie die schöne Barockstadt Lecce. Ansonsten lässt es sich wunderbar an dem tollen, großen Pool entspannen. Vielen Dank für den schönen Aufenthalt!

La villa è davvero splendida! Ancora più bella che in foto. Ricca di ogni comfort, con dettagli curati e attrezzatura completa per ogni esigenza. Purtroppo la connessione a internet era assente per quasi tutta la giornata. Consigliamo, se i proprietari desiderano continuare ad affittare la casa anche agli Italiani, di tradurre tutte le istruzioni (attualmente solo in inglese) e di fare in modo di poter vedere anche altri canali televisivi oltre alla BBC.

Trascorso un bella vacanza con amici in questa deliziosa villetta in mezzo agli ulivi in una zona tranquilla ma a pochi chilometri di macchina da servizi e spiagge. La piscina, pulita e ben tenuta, consente un bagno rilassante a sera quando si torna dalle belle escursioni che offre la Puglia. Ogni camera dotata di bagno. Casa molto ben attrezzata. Silvana e Antonio, che ti accolgono, molto gentili e attentissimi alle esigenze degli ospiti. Mi sento di consigliarla senza riserve. Un solo piccolo suggerimento alla proprietaria: per la clientela italiana è opportuno che si vedano i canali TV italiani e non solo la BBC. Un appunto a VRBO: per correttezza avvertire che il pagamento in sterline comporta delle commissioni di cambio (sia pure molto contenute).

This is one of the best villas we have ever stayed in, 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms (one shower cubicle was small but others were great), and the pool area was perfect with the biggest pool for a single family. The kids absolutely loved it and didn’t want to get out. The villa is quite remote in a quiet area but only a 5 min drive to the local beach town with good restaurants and a little supermarket for essentials. Larger supermarket about 15 mins drive away. We visited a local beach which had soft sand and clear water, it was reminiscent of the Caribbean. Plenty of day trips to be done with lovely towns to visit. Highly recommend.

We had a fantastic holiday at this property which is in a very peaceful location. The villa was clean, comfortable and well equipped. It is well located for sightseeing and day trips. We would thoroughly recommend this villa .

Lovely house with a great pool with a diving board for jumping off, and a massive garden. Good relaxing location, only a five minute drive to the sea. Also very convenient as only 20 minutes away from Brindisi airport. We really loved this villa and would definitely recommend it for families looking for a spacious villa with a big pool.

We had a fantastic time - there for 2 weeks with 3 late teens and us, so made lots of use of the pool and table tennis and they could play their music without disturbing any neighbours! The three bathrooms were also a positive, although the shower in one is very small (for a 6ft 2" 20 year old!). Plenty of family room in the open plan sitting/dining/kitchen area and comfortable seating and dining on the terrace. Well appointed kitchen with all you need to be able to cook/serve family meals as well as both charcoal and gas BBQs outside. The fold up beach beds were great to take to the beach and a real plus point. Although the villa is secluded, it has easy access to main roads which quickly get you out into the Puglia region where there is plenty to see and do. Would happily stay again!

Also the owners have been very helpful by sending us lots of useful info, and keeping in regular contact when required.

In nearly 30 years of staying in villas, this is the nearest to perfect that we've found. It is modern with a design sensitive to the area. It has a new kitchen, decent size bedrooms and best of all a good size pool. The view of olive groves and beyond them the sea is terrific and it is secluded. We couldn't have wanted for more. The service from both the owner and Antonio the local representative was excellent.

Afgezien van het heerlijke zwembad en de grootte van de villa, is de woning verder voorzien van andere gemakken, zoals een grote koelkast en vriezer, vaatwasser, barbecue, lounge sets en nog veel meer. Is er iets niet helemaal naar wens, dan is Antonio er nog om je te helpen. Zou er zo nog een keer heen gaan!!

This villa did everything that it said it would - and more ! The owners very kindly agreed to purchase a table tennis table so that when it was really hot in the middle of the day the children could be active in the cool of the lower ground section of the villa. This was hugely popular and a great success. We also really appreciated the food which was waiting for us on our arrival. We didn't know that there would be a 'welcome pack' for us but after a long and tiring journey it was just what we needed. Antonio - the Italian caretaker - was delightful and did all that he could to help us settle in. We certainly would have never found the villa if he hadn't have met us and then guided us to it. There were a number of power cuts when we were there but that was obviously nothing to do with the owner however, it did cause the wifi to stop working but a quick text to the owner ensured that the Italian company responsible for the maintenance of the line was brought in to rectify this. Altogether a very happy holiday for us and our three children aged 14, 12 and 9.

Modern, well-equipped and comfortable. If anything the photos make it look smaller than it feels when you're there. The memory foam mattresses and air-con make for a great night sleep. The pool is above average size and well maintained. The villa is away from neighbours and peaceful. We found plenty to do in the locality for our 2 week stay.

We have just returned from a wonderful two week holiday in this excellent villa in Puglia. The open plan living area worked really well for our family of five as did the whole accommodation being on a single floor. Our three children (13, 11 and 6) loved the villa including and perhaps most importantly the superb large pool. We all enjoyed the stunning sea views particularly from the roof terrace where you get a true sense of the location of this property. The villa was extremely well appointed/maintained, was spotlessly clean and we were very well looked after by the English speaking house manager and housekeepers during our stay. Accepting that the sound of our own children enjoying themselves in the pool may not be ideal for the relaxation of others, we had no concerns on this holiday. Despite this rural location, the property is close to the beach, not far from a large supermarket and only a short drive to a number of restaurants. Although the nearby coastline is rocky, there are stretches of sand and the small sandy beach we found benefited from not many people and a parking spot virtually next to where we were sat! Aside from the villa, we enjoyed trips to Lecce, Gallipoli, Alberobello and particularly Ostuni. Ostuni is approximately eight miles away and has numerous places to eat and watch the world go by. We would thoroughly recommend this villa and the local area to anyone considering a holiday in Puglia. The Jones family

Basically it was all good. What surprised me:- Pool cleaned only once in two weeks of our stay;- An umbrella at the pool was broken, we were promised to fix it, but he did not.- When leaving the villa nobody can see off, after it was reported that we broke something and get back only a portion of the deposit.- Part of the deposit received only at the end of November (after 3 months)- We rested two families, and a set of keys is only one. Uncomfortable.- For a few days, turn off the gas - no compensation, and we have not received an apology.
