The place was spacious, bright and spotlessly clean. The simple wooden interior makes it both cozy and classy. It was right by the woods so I could literally sleep to crickets chirping and wake up to birds singing. It comes with a beautiful view too. And there was this huge shared kitchen with every utensil you'll ever need. The hosts Vincent and his wife were very friendly and helpful, and were more than generous to offer recommendations on things to do and places to hike. Absolutely pleasant stay it was.

A sign at the turn of the road would be helpful coz it was slightly difficult to locate. Everything was perfect otherwise.

This was a quaint homestay, with a beautiful morning view of nature. Everything in the room felt very new and clean. The tatami beds were very comfortable and the room was big. The bathroom was very clean; the toilet and shower in separate rooms was also convenient. Note that the terrace that came with our room is a shared terrace (i.e. others from the common area and another room can get onto the same terrace). There are some shared facilities like a kitchen and laundry area but we didn't use any of those.

The house, understandably, is quite tucked away, so it can be difficult to find the first time. There weren't any clear/big signages to point us in the right direction. But it's fine once you figure it out. Also didn't quite like that we had to use communal slippers around the house (we had to leave our shoes at the front door, to change into the slippers to get to our rooms). Might have been better if there was some system where each guest could have an assigned slipper instead.

The helpful, friendly hosts always make sure their guests have a most wonderful stay, and I did. My spotlessly clean room is new with modern functionality, yet it maintains the charm of traditional Japanese style. The stunning view on the porch is accompanied by beautiful bird songs.

I recently stayed at 山の源-Yama No Minamoto during my visit on 8-10 Jul 2023. This lovely guesthouse and was blown away by the incredible hospitality of the hosts. From the moment we arrived, host (Vincent) made us feel right at home and were eager to share their knowledge of the area, recommending great restaurants and tourist attractions for us to visit. Vincent also invite us to hiking in 十勝岳望岳台 but our schedule is full so can’t to go. Female host (Penny) was especially gracious and kind, treating us to a delicious and hearty breakfast each morning and even surprising me with a beautiful rose as a welcome gift (As this trip to celebrate my anniversary). Her warmth and attention to detail really made our stay feel extra special. Overall, we had a fantastic two-day stay at this guesthouse and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy and welcoming place to stay. In fact, we're already planning to come back in the winter to learn how to ski! Thank you to the hosts for such a wonderful experience.

The room and shared spaces were extremely spacious, meticulously maintained and clean. There was plenty of storage space for our luggages to be kept away in the wardrobe so that our room was neat and tidy. The house is in a beautiful location and we even saw wild deer once!

It was a little tricky to locate at first as we drove there in the dark, perhaps a sign at the turn would help guests know where the house is!
