A friendly, comfortable hotel in a charming area- our second visit to the Bruntsfield. Breakfast was excellent, the room was well-appointed and the staff were helpful and welcoming. One slight concern this time probably resulted from our room being on the ground floor; we were aware of a noise (boiler? pump? kitchen air conditioning unit or extractor?) from about 6 am to 10.30 pm. Will ask for a room on a hight floor in future!

Very underwhelming for the price. I expected more. Small room, not easy to move around the foot of the bed. Bed too soft, tiny cramped shower room. Two people in the room, so why not two armchairs in the bay window? Loved the Tunnock’s Teacakes, though - nice touch.

Just along the road from a quiet and arty corner of the city - out of the main tourist bustle but no less beautiful. Two fabulous and historic cinema/picture houses on the doorstep and a whole host of lovely shops and eateries to choose from. Edinburgh centre is just a short walk away - or an even shorter bus ride: the stop is right by the hotel. Easy to get to and from the airport or train stations by bus (or tram/bus combo) but less easy to find a taxi in the centre. Lovely hotel, great breakfast. Less impressed with evening meal, but with so many local restaurants I’d venture out instead.

Lovely hotel with a great location on the park. No air conditioning so it might be hot in the summer. My room was stuffy during the daytime with an outside temperature in the 70s (~24 C). The windows open only a tiny bit. Other rooms with different sun exposure might be cooler.

We had a really lovely room and overall a pleasant stay. Housekeeping never came to our room despite leaving the sign on the door that we would like our room cleaned and we were out most of the day. Service in the bar was pretty terrible to be honest, I was the only person waiting and the bartender never acknowledged me for about 20 minutes so I gave up. Breakfast is nice. Location was great. Would probably stay again but the price was very high for what is offered.

The hotel does not considers ramps for luggage. Keep in mind that if you carry heavy luggage you will have to lift them yourself, since also, there is no one in the entrance to help. The hotel does count with an elevator but depending on your room number there can be stairs too to get to it. Again, without ramps!!

I had asked for a room with an accessible bathroom as I am a below knee amputee. The hotel e-mailed to acknowledge this request on 12/04/24 but on arrival this had not been actioned. Whilst the shower in my room was a 'walk in' unit this was ok to get in but the absence of grab rails made my shower a very unsafe situation. At breakfast the menu offered vegetarian sausages but these were not available, only vegetarian haggis.

Lovely clean room, comfortable bed. Room quite spacious really in comparison to some other hotels. Lovely location. On site parking a real convenient bonus although also plenty on street parking.

Great location, if you want to still be close to everything the city has to offer, but in a more serene, quiet location.

Everything was great for the 8-9 days we stayed, only issue is cold water didn’t work in shower and we either got hot or extremely hot water, and after walking 10-12 miles shopping relaxing with a nice shower or bath would have been great. But we didn’t want to complain

Lovely hotel, the decor was really nice! We ended up being upgraded when we arrived so had an extra large room which was a nice surprise, location was okay, a little bit out of the centre but we didn't mind the walk.

The hotel was well located and we were allowed to check in early which was fantastic as we had travelled up on the sleeper. The room was very clean and the breakfast was great. On the Saturday night there was a function that we could hear slightly but fortunately it stopped quite early. I was happy that we were far enough away as I hear some guests the following morning complain as they were right above it and couldn't hear their TV over the music.

This is the fourth time at this hotel over a 10 year period And over those years it as been refurbished to a very high standard with quality furnishings and modern facilities

Hotel was lovely, rooms are currently undergoing renovations. Stay in a renovated room - they are beautiful. Rooms to be renovated are old and show their age. Our bathroom floor was dirty upon arrival. Housekeeping staff had already left for the day, so the manager cleaned the bath for us. We joked that we had the best dressed housekeeper of all time.
