The hotel is in an excellent location , great price for the location, but the price did not match the stay. The hotel is out dated. The hotel has a weird old smell, same as the room, it looks clean over all but when you really look it’s not. There was dirt in the corners which I didn’t see until very late, the mini fridge didn’t keep things cold overnight again didn’t notice until we were leaving, and the mattress were ripped underneath when I checked for bedbugs, again it was late when I checked everything and we just wanted to go to bed as we needed to be up and out early. The breakfast cereal was stale and the coffee was horrible. The shower was not accommodate anyone over 6ft. My husband had to bend over to wash his hair.

It was a perfect place to stop for the night. Close to town. Frat houses right in front of the hotel but had no issues with it. Breakfast was basic but everything was clean and comfortable. Staff was very nice.

We have been coming to this hotel once or twice a summer for 25 years. Its a great location on the water and close enough for us to walk to the restaurants and breweries downtown. As a kid I loved the pool, and now my kids enjoy it while I sit in the hot tub. The breakfast always has a good selection especially with the waffle station.

I made a reservation a month in advance and then two weeks later was offered the option of upgrading to a second-floor lake view room which I accepted for an additional $10. When I arrived I was told that no lake view rooms were available. My question is why was this offered if it wasn't available?

Safe, quiet, waterfront property with kind, attentive staff and clean, comfortable rooms. Easy 5 minute walk along the waterfront to downtown Houghton. Free breakfast including waffles and jimmy dean breakfast sandwiches was nice too. Plenty of parking. Did have a little noise from floor above but not enough to disturb our sleep. Would stay here again.

This is the most clean and beautiful Super 8 we've ever stayed in. The staff were all wonderful - full of that UP personality. Our favorite thing was sitting on the back deck along the water and watching the sunset over the water.

I was pleasantly surprised by this property. From the wonderful employees, a ground floor room(since my sister and I are older-no elevator), and a lakeside room. There was a walking path right at the hotel along the water, which we took advantage of. Also, the hours for breakfast was great, so we didn’t have to rush. It was very clean.
