Lovely and clean. Nice room overlooking the river. Really comfy bed. Very handy for The Glasshouse and the city centre of Newcastle is just a short walk away over the Millenium Bridge. Food is pretty average but nice enough. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Parking is supposedly £8.50 per 24 hours but we were charged just £8.50 and we stayed for 2 days. Very pleasant. Would recommend.

Well located but parking was terrible as had to pay high price next door to park. The other option was to park away from the hotel and walk back with overnight bags

Hotel easy to find, clean fresh looking staff all efficient and friendly. Rooms clean and have everything you need Hairdryer tea making flat screen tv Iron and board, good working showers, working free WiFi Parking £8.50 for 24hrs Bar area and restaurant nice and cosy, outside seating for nice days, Didn’t have breakfast but ate in restaurant at night, food was poor the only downside 4 of us had different choices but was very basic and uninspiring,

I've been to this hotel a few times now but the last couple of times have been disappointing. This time I was put in an accessible room (I'm not disabled so didn't need one). When I questioned this at reception I was told there were no other rooms available. I checked in a little after 6.00 PM so I find it dificult to beleive the hotel was full at this point. Normally this wouldn't be an issue but I was staying for 3 days and didn't want to take up an accessible room should someone genuinely require it. Not only that but the room was bland and uninspiring. The bathroom was like a hospital bathroom and I'm pretty sure if I was disabled I would have been disappointed with the lack of decor. The TV picture also kept breaking up (happens a lot in hotels and is really anoying as they don't do anything even if you report it). Other than that the view from the room was good and the staff were generally freindly. The Bar and restaurant were short staffed though and there were often queues to get served. Parking is restricted and there are only very few spaces available. There is an alternative next door but this is expensive. Another alternative is available but I think this is a short walk away from the hotel. I don't think I'll be staying here the next time I visit Gateshead.

Not worth the money for an exsective sweetwe checked in then checked staight back out we then booked a room in your sister hotel in newcastle for our 2 night stay and was fantastic

My stay was amazing, the staff were friendly the place was clean from outside the hotel all the way to the rooms we stayed, nice view good privacy close to the town centre and the location of the hotel was just perfect. The staffs at the bar were nice and funny,

Nice hotel with pleasant staff. Room was spacious and comfortable but looking a little dated and tired, needs a refresh. Stayed here before on the other side of the hotel and the rooms seemed much better. Very short staffed in the bar though.

Car park at hotel full , had to park beside college. Checked in online but still had to give details of room occupancy , abrupt receptionist said checkout is 11am tomorrow …had to correct her & say we were here for TWO nights ! Booked room with river view … window looked out onto car park & buildings but if you stood to left of window you could see millenium bridge & small part of river ! Room was tired looking with paint spots on carpet, veneer chipped off table, bathroom functional but some rough maintenance . Not a very good sleep in one of the beds as felt it was leaning to one side , checked in the morning & the bed only had castors on one side ! Told reception next morning & it did get sorted …they took all the castors off !! When we checked out the girl on reception was pleasant but not once did she ask if we’d enjoyed our stay … I think staff need more training in customer service .

Our second visit here and again the service was exceptional. The staff are so friendly and helpful, the wheelchair accessible room was spacious, perfect, the hotel is spotless, the food gorgeous and the bar staff entertained us.

Advertised on site parking is limited and narrow spaces. Nearest public car park some distance away uphill. Was kept awake from 6 am every morning because our room was next to the stairwell. I reported to the front desk that the self closer on the fire door needed to be adjusted to stop the door from slamming but nothing was done. Corridor light shone brightly under the bedroom door. Alarmingly, this showed that the gap between the floor and the door was about 14mm - far in excess of requirements for fire and smoke protection.

Myself & my daughter had lovely stay. Great location. Only disappointment was the staff upon arrival. Uninterested and unhelpful. We felt as if we were a n inconvenience and o there evening! This was our first trip “up north” and we were expecting to experience the jovial Northern welcoming we have heard so much about! Bar and restaurant staff were amazing though!

Late check in served it's purpose and the hotel is surprisingly close to central Newcastle! Easy room to have a good, solid rest and friendly, helpful staff.

The place was clean and staff were friendly only thing was i didnt get the room i payed for i payed for a suprior room where you can see the bridge but i got a diffrent room faceing othere hotels and buildings with a little window room 416 that was the only down fall thank you

Good position as not in centre of Newcastle so easy to get onto main roads for Allwick Castle and Beamish etc. Easy walk to the quay and various restaurants. Parking is limited and the alternative isn't great so parked at the Baltic car park which is very expensive but a lot safer and very near. The coast road going north is spectacular. Good breakfast, clean room and nice staff.

Very good price. The entrance and lobby is welcoming. Staff are friendly and hekpful. The room was clean and comfortable but not as expected. The furniture was tired and worn and all the walls had stains that appeared to be from a dripping substance. The lighting was very poor. The entrance is modern and had a fresh, clean fragrance in contrast to the room which was dull and tired.

Nice hotel, well positioned for getting into Newcastle. Nice large room, speedy check in. I experienced problems with the TV channels, apparently this is an issue hotel wide at the moment. Service at breakfast was extremely poor, waitresses spent all their time chatting, I asked for poached eggs as they are cooked to order. Some 15 mins later after I had finished my breakfast, I was told my eggs would be ready shortly due the chef being agency. Too late for me as I needed to leave for work.

Was really looking forward to this stay but was let down slightly! The images online make it look really nice but it definitely needs some refurbishment done. We got checked in quickly and before 3pm which was great to then get to room and notice that it hadn’t even been cleaned. Went straight back to reception where she was apologetic and probably a bit embarrassed but she told me that it said on the system that it was ready for us. She said we could go sit in the bar and get some drinks while we wait until 3 for it to be cleaned so we done that and didn’t mind. We then got billed £30 for 6 Smirnoff ice’s which is just a total rip off (£5 a bottle), especially after getting a room that hadn’t been cleaned. We then got assigned another room at 3pm which was fine, There was some bits in the room that needed refurbished, big dent in the dressing table and bathroom was a little rough round the edges but overall ok. Beds were very comfy which was the main thing I suppose. We then got woken up by banging from the the room next to us which was either noisey neighbours or the cleaners. I’m pretty sure it was the cleaners. Fast and easy check out. Overall 6/10

It was my first time staying at this hotel and I really liked it. It’s in a nice and quiet area. Very close to the metro station, 10 minute walk, and the city centre. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again in the future.
