Near to the city center

Our room had a bad smell. It was smaller than booked according to picture. There was a hole in the wall. There was dirt in the room and the bathroom which needs renovations. We got cigarette smoke into our room from the balcony below. There were renovations in the hotel during our stay which were not mentioned beforehand. Because of that there was noise and dirt also in the staircase.

Balcony was a big plus.

Friendly Staff, Basel card included in the price. Location: conveniently near tram stop, large supermarket, restaurants.

Check in was friendly and efficient, even though I arrived early. Possibility of leaving doors open to a small, secure balcony at night was pleasant. Plenty of hot water and good water pressure for the shower. Breakfast began at an early hour.

The mattress was too soft for me and sagged a bit. Old fashioned shower in a bathtub, kind of charming, but the shower curtains much too long, and insufficient racks for hanging towels. There was no safe in room

The property was ten minutes by tram and 15 minutes from the centre of the city.

The location cannot be beat. Right outside the hotel, trams 6 and 14 stop. Makes everything, especially moving around, super convenient. Plenty of space in the wardrobe. Strong WiFi

I had a single room. The bed had wheels under it which hadn't been locked so it kept sliding. The hotel didn't replenish the water bottle in my room The hair dryer wasn't very effective.

Hotel is well situated in Basel with easy public transport access from the train station. Staff was friendly. Room was fine.

Breakfast is very good

No. 14 tram from railway station stops right at the door. I had advised that moring that I would arrive earlier than planned. Altho I arrived about 13.30 my room was available for me and the man on reception was very pleasant and helpful. All hotel guests in Basel are given a Baselcard which apart from discounts to sights give FREE travel on all trams and buses including to and from airport. Hotel restaurant had a good menu and 3 or 4 3 course set meal. The cheapest SF21.50 was excellent value for money. The breakfast choice was not vast but more than adequate. My single room was small but very clean and comfortable.

Shower cublicle was small and when turning around I either pressed the tap off or the door opened. Hairdryer could have been better placed as it made leaning over the sink difficult.
