We had a lovely time, it was quiet, peaceful and relaxed which was exactly what we were looking for!

The cottage was very clean, had ample parking and Wendie was communicative without being in any way intrusive. She made sure we knew in advance how the area was being affected by flooding and that things at the house were still ok. Check-in was a breeze. The bird feeder out front was mobbed with birds every day while rabbits, squirrels and even a duck, who clearly knew his way around, came to feed on seeds that fell below.
I will say, the bathroom is quite snug and definitely wouldn’t be considered accessible. This may not be an issue for most but useful info for some. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

She is so incredibly responsive and kind. The house is just as charming in real life as in the photos. And it was very workable for the two of us. Nice, quiet setting on the Mississippi River (which happened to be in flood stage at the time, but still didn’t affect our stay at all). Reasonably close to a variety of restaurants and shopping. Easy to deal with. Quite comfortable. We’ll sure be back!

My friend Jill and I headed north from IL for a quiet couple of days away from work. LOVED this perfect little cottage on the island so much. We love to cook and Wendie has stocked the entire kitchen (and home) with everything you could possibly need to spend a weekend away!
Location is great - between LaCrosse and all it has to offer, and LaCrescent MN's gorgeous rolling hills, we had the very best time and couldn't have asked for anything more.
The island is completely walkable with beautiful landscape and wildlife, little pubs along the way, and kind folks willing to talk about their beautiful landscapes and gardens.
Would definitely return and stay again!

We really enjoyed our stay at this sweet home on French Island. It was the perfect spot to land and use a home base while exploring the area! Communication with the owner was seamless and easy. The abode was very clean, comfortable, and as described. I would recommend to anyone wanting a quiet peaceful place to stay while in the LaCrosse area. Thank you host! :)

The house was set right next to the river and the front yard was just filled with bird action. They have some feeders on the property which I asked if I could top off since tgey were empty, which the owner was ok with. Understood why it was empty, they cleaned it out in two days. The master bed is an adjustable and one of the best mattresses I have slept on in a VRBO unit. All the excessories you need in the kitchen. I will just mention the shower is small, so be prepared for that. Otherwise very clean and comfortable unit. A very good stay for 2 or 3 people.

Came up to La Crosse for a concert. Location of rental was perfect, short easy drives to where we wanted to visit. Perfect little cottage feel w a water view. Hosts were quickly responsive to any questions/wants/needs. Would definitely recommend!

We came to visit La Crosse for the weekend and had a great time - this VRBO was within minutes of everywhere we wanted to go and it was perfect.

This property was perfect for our family trip to visit our daughter for Family Weekend at UW-LaCrosse! The home was cozy, comfy, and close to the places we visited while in the area. Wendie was extremely helpful and accommodating! The snacks and drinks in the frig were a welcomed touch!

The living room in this house is so welcoming, so many places to sit and relax, I was so thankful for the recliner! The layout of the bedrooms and bathroom allowed for moving around without waking anyone. There were squirrels and birds in the front yard to welcome us, that was an extra bonus! My friends and I loved the view from the kitchen and dining room. We highly recommend this property!

The home is in a pretty location to the water and within minutes drive of downtown Lacrosse. The home was clean and comfortable.
