Prime location. Cute and clean.

Very loud and noisy. There seemed to be no AC in the room (Captains Suite) and at night you cannot open the windows due to the bar noise. Two bedroom suite with no couch to watch TV with the family.

The walls were very thin so we could hear everything happening outside. There was not a ac unit, and the shower was not cleaned. The location was great.

Nice older hotel but updated (built in 1937) on the main street in downtown Pismo Beach just a block up from the beach and pier. You can easily walk to most of downtown. The room was nicely appointed with a fireplace stove as the room heater. It has a somewhat charming old-style elevator with a grate door that is a bit finicky - if the last person using it does not properly close the grate door, the elevator is stuck on that floor and is unavailable for others to use - a staff member must then locate what floor it's on and fix it. This happened twice during our two-day stay. But the hotel was comfortable, had free coffee available all the time, and convenient to the downtown area

Some upgrades of the elevator would be advised. I think they keep it as is - it does work - because it has some charm. But it's quirks make it a bit unreliable.
