This 1974 chalet was our winter home base for a 3 day weekend. The space is cozy but lacks modernity. Little appears to have been updated within the past 20 years. The fireplace was wonderful, but we found the kitchen lackluster and small. The home is centrally located in the valley and sits on a little pond. We found several unappetizing bug traps. If you have a chance we wound not recommend spending your money visiting this property. We would recommend the owners reduce the cost.

The furniture & appliances were outdated. Sofas had an old smell to them. May need cleaning or upholstered. Overall, very clean.

The property and surrounding areas were beautiful. The chalet was very clean, well stocked amd super cute. The lake was wonderful with access to kayaks and canoes to make a fun trip even better.

The pictures of this property certainly make it seem like a chalet secluded in the woods on a lake. The reality is that you are surrounded by other houses, the rental office is literally right next to you, and there is a ton of road noise. Not at all secluded. In addition, the chairs on the front deck are not comfortable enough to spend any kind of time there, and the twin beds are too hard to sleep on. That being said, this would be an awesome place to vacation for a family with small kids. The closeness of the water activities to the house, etc. I would return here with small or school age kids in a heart beat. Definitely needs some improvement on the accuracy of the location and on some furnishings though.

Great getaway location!! The chalet was perfect for a family of 5. Very quiet surroundings and great water activities by the lake. We'll be returning for sure.

We stayed here for a quiet get-away and were happy with our stay. The communication with the host was great as was the after hours check-in process. The lake makes for a beautiful view out the front windows and deck. Canaan Valley is beautiful!

Great little cabin perfect for the weekend with our little family. Loved waking up to the views of the lake just out front. Everything was perfectly clean inside and out. Kitchen well stocked for actual cooking which is super nice when you have kids. Beds were comfortable and clean. We had a great time even though it was cool and rainy. The lake looked like it would be fun for fishing and paddle boats. We would definitely stay here again.

Cabin was clean and very spacious for a family of 5. Young adult “kids” enjoyed theirbown area upstairs with plenty of sleeping space. The view is spectacular. Love sitting on the deck with coffee in the morning as the fog lifts from mountains.

The chalet was the perfect place for a getaway with my husband and I. Close to a lot of scenic trails.

Such a relaxing time,enjoyed the coziness of the chalet. Loved having my morning coffee in the hot tub. Loved the Canaan valley,enjoyed Dolly sods, blackwater falls,Lendys point,and the shopping in Thomas. The bed is in need of a new mattress,and not alot of channels available to watch on tv. We did bring DVD movies with us. We would definitely come again and stay in the chalet. So adorable.
