The house comfortably accommodated our group of 6 and was perfectly situated within the town. Just a couple minute walk to the beach and shops. Not all of the bathrooms were perfectly cleaned but overall everything was very nice and tidy. Would definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a great spot to stay in St. Simons!

I was a little hesitant at first because the price was much lower than what I found for other properties I looked at. But Papa's Place is exactly what was shown in the pictures in the advertisement. Wonderful, big open home with large bedrooms and comfortable beds. Big kitchen, great room, dining room and outside deck all connected and great for family gatherings. Great TV with comfortable furnishings. Plenty of hot water and lots of towels. Everything we needed for a great vacation!

The house was within walking distance to the pier and the great restaurants near it. Plenty of space for a large group like ours. The property manager resolved our request immediately after contacting them. Great value!

We recently stayed at the house with four of our adult children and spouses while my husband and I got married on East Beach. The house was large enough to fit us all comfortably. We were disappointed in the amenities and service. The house came with ONE trash bag, ONE dish towel, 4 coffee cups, etc. For a five bedroom house, we would expect at least a few trash bags! The ice maker did not work. One of the toilets upstairs did not work. We reported that it needed a new handle/flapper assembly at 10:30 AM on the first morning of our stay. A handyman showed up a few hours later, said he could not repair it then and would come back. He did not show back up until noon today when we were checking out (we paid for late checkout). If it is raining, as it was during our stay, the front outdoor steps are very slippery. There was visible mildew on the stairs and the entire outside front of the house. I wish the owners would check out the current condition of the house, including the poor collection of cookware, glasses, etc. Very disappointed in the Vacasa management if this house.

The house was amazing! Large enough to accommodate our annual 4th of July vacation! Everything was perfect!

Pros: Great location, fenced in back yard, very pet friendly because there is tile EVERYWHERE (which also means no bad odors linger). Master on the main floor. Great for large groups. Good place to store your luggage because you are away from the house most of your stay. Cons: House is barren of personality, decor, and properly functioning appliances. Appears as though nothing has changed since house was built in 2001. This includes pillows, bedding (bed toppers and quality of sheets), paint to cover water stains on ceiling, rotted wood around most windows, NO option to open any window because the crank handles have all been removed. I had to ask for a vacuum and broom and iron and blankets which should be standard in every rental. Fireplace is ventless so there is no need to clean chimney. Allow it to be operable. One review had Vacasa say there is no gas in the house so no need for CO2 detector. The cooktop IS gas as well as fireplace. I opened a CO2 detector that was in laundry room and plugged it in. IMO, Vacasa is too big to be able to take care of renter's needs and actually manage a property. I would not recommend this property for more than a 1 week stay

Walking to the beach and restaurants was terrific. The master bedroom and bath very nice. The other beds were only so, so. There was a leg missing on a dressing table and stained upholstery in the office room. The garbage disposal and the vent for the stove didn't work, but otherwise the kitchen was great for cooking. We would stay there again.

We loved the layout of the house (bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen/dining room, and the lovely office (a couple of us had to work some on our vacation). Kitchen was well stocked. A very comfortable home for a larger size family (we had a total of 10 people).

We were very happy with Papa’s Place. Very nice home with EVERYTHING you will need . It is within walking distance to beach / shops/ restaurants/ parks( 5 minute walk). The home is large and beds are comfortable.. Communication with rental company was easy with quick response . You won’t be disappointed if you rent this home!

Great size for families and location is walking distance to the beach (we used our golf cart). I was disappointed in a few things - the floors were filthy when we checked in, turned the bottoms of our feet black. We actually went to the store, bought cleaner, and mopped ourselves. The master bed on the main floor is broken - has about a 15 degree decline at the head so when you sleep your feet are resting higher than your head. My wife and I ended up turning around and sleeping with our head at the foot board and our feet at the head board. The elevator is nice to have for luggage but if you sleep in the master bed, you will hear a 2-3 second mechanical hum about every 60 seconds so beware if you’re a light sleeper. There is a grill on the patio but when we took burgers out there we realized there was no propane - not that the tank was empty, there was no tank at all - so we had to broil them in the oven instead. One of the knobs are missing on the stovetop but other than that all appliances worked great. The A/C works great as well, house stays nice and cool. There’s a nice big sun room with large dining room table which is good for dinner or game night. All in all a nice, large house close to the beach which is what we were looking for.

House was as described - very spacious and good parking. Kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, utensils, etc. Has a drip coffee maker and a keurig. Office space was a plus and was used a few times by several of us. Lots and lots of beach towels clean and folded in laundry room. New washer and dryer. Would suggest adding 3 more chairs to the front porch, as there were only 3. Same for back porch - only 3. Coffee table on back deck kinda shot, could be replaced. Enjoyed sitting on both the front and back porches depending on time of day. Appreciated the shade cover on the back porch - very effective. Gas grill is new and is huge - good for a house that may have a crowd eating dinner. Subzero refrigerator is also huge- also good for a big family's food.

Papa's Place was amazing! We had everything we needed; and our questions were answered within minutes. The house was lovely and HUGE! We had plenty of room. Friday evening, we had guests for dinner; and it didn't even feel crowded. There was room for everyone to chat, play games, laugh...it was simply perfect! Many thanks to everyone who made it such a great experience!

We had a great time staying in this spacious home. We enjoyed walking on the beach with our dogs and enjoyed this amazing quaint island.

Would not rent this house again. Was deceived about things in the house. Love St Simons Island and visiting! Definitely loved other properties rented through you all but this one just didn’t match up.

We loved the house! Lots of room and well equipped. Very clean. 5-10 minute walk to beach. Can walk to shops and restaurants. Dog friendly beach.

My family of 7 (all adults) enjoyed our week on Saint Simons Island at Papa’s Place. The house location is excellent as it’s a short five minute walk to East Beach and also walking distance (10-15 minutes) to the Pier Village area that has many restaurants (Must Go to Georgia Sea Grill), ice cream (recommend Saint Simon Sweets), shopping, and the Lighthouse Museum. The house was clean, comfortable, and definitely roomy with its 5 bedrooms (2 on first floor and 3 on 2nd floor) and 4 bathrooms. The kitchen has quality working appliances and everything we needed to cook-in a couple nights and prepare breakfast in morning. We used the gas grill a couple times which was fine except the grill grates needed a good cleaning first. The house could use some updating overall, but the central A/C keeps the property very comfortable inside. The floors were a little dirty in spots and the beds were okay; not the most comfortable, but overall very livable for a short stay. Communication with the property manager via text was good as he responded pretty quick to my texts. Only issues we had were that the front door sometimes didn’t lock easily (several attempts required), a couple lights in the bathrooms didn’t work, and the back deck is pretty much useless because it’s so hot and humid. For future renters of this property, the Vrbo listing states a hair dryer is included but it is NOT as confirmed by the property manager when I asked. Ladies, bring your hair dryer. The property also does NOT provide beach chairs which would be nice since the property is so close to a great beach. Recommend the property include beach equipment (3 or 4 foldable beach chairs and umbrella) along with the beach towels which are already provided.

We had a fun time and this property was perfect for my group. Response from the maintenance manager was excellent. The house was in a great location for a short walk to restaurants and the beach.
