I loved the home. Excellent access. The decor was incredible. King size bed was super comfy. Our guest said the twin beds were comfortable too. Loved having 1 bathroom upstairs & 1 downstairs. Perfectly equipped w fridge, coffee baker & both floors. Big TV’s in each room. Loved the pool & jacuzzi but we were not to enjoy since the weather was cold 🥶. Hots were very attentive. Plenty of towels, hand towels & wash cloths. Super close to lots of great restaurants. Very close to Rice U which was our main reason for the visit. Highly recommend for anyone looking for AirnB close to Rice.

Tim & Philip were fantastic hosts. The king bed was extremely comfortable. The pool was marvelous. Overall, we were very satisfied and are planning to come back again.

This space was a visual, textural and architectural delight during my brief weekend interlude in Houston for a dear friend's baby shower. Tim's vision for the Kasbah is one that has become increasingly rare in these times, wherein minimal/modern and neutral outposts are all the rage. The whimsical interiors transport guests to distant places and times, encouraging imaginations to spark and spirits to unwind. Amenities are plentiful and the main guest bed was also quite cozy and comfortable. The pool and poolside deck were lovely. I work a corporate job and found it very easy to allow myself to be transported away from the hive-mind and rat-race, simply sitting, drinking-in and soaking-up the place and the culture nearby. This venue is not for everyone's taste, but I found it to be exactly the right kind of magic I needed during my brief stay. Highly recommend and hope to pass through again one day. Thank you for sharing your art, creativity and appreciation of time, history and humankind with with the world, Tim!!

The poool was amazing, the decor in the house is a vibe ! More roomier than i thought ! Location was awesome!!! And communicating with the owner was quick and easy !

The property was as it is shown online but could use a little cleaning to rugs or air purifier to get rid of the dusty smell. The shower downstairs had great pressure but the heat did not last long. The shower upstairs had less pressure, consistent heat but did not drain well. There was also some miscommunication about the pool being heated or not. The first night that I swam in it Phillip the other property owner was in the pool and stated it was not heated. When I inquired with Tim about heating the pool for the next evening for the kids to use it he informed me that it had been heated the whole time and increased the heat to help with the kids. That however is all the "bad" I would say. The property overall was out of a story book with the theme and the beautiful courtyard and pool. Tim and Phillip are friendly. The location was amazing and surprisingly quiet! You could walk to any restaurant, coffee shop or bar of your choosing. It is close enough and safe to the museum district and trails to run/jog or find entertainment. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique experience but those who want to be out and enjoy what Montrose has to offer!

Loved it. Look at the pictures - the place could be a museum of Moroccan artifacts. Loved the outdoor furniture and pool. Perfect for a getaway and you won't feel like you are in a big city. Fabulous restaurants and shopping right there.

Hosts were very responsive. Beautiful little home. We had everything we needed. Loved all the decorations. Very comfortable bed. Lots of TV, gorgeous bathrooms. Very convenient to lots of restaurants, grocery store etc. definitely returning to this gorgeous little home. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We did not get to enjoy the oil but it was super adorable and will definitely use it on our next stay weather permitting.

Spending several days with our 8 year old grandson and 4 year old granddaughter during their Springbreak. Picked this VRBO on a whim. Very bohemian and the kids loved it. Too cool the days we were there to take advantage of the pool, but looks just like the pictures. Note: kitchen has a microwave and toaster oven + an electric griddle in a box, but not an actual stove. We enjoyed our stay at the Casbah 🌙 and the decor was one of a kind!

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The uniqueness of the decor was a nice change from sterile cold hotel rooms. The work put into the decor is obvious and amazing. The pool and deck area were a great refuge to sit and have a morning coffee, evening cocktail as well as enjoy the pool itself. We were there end of Feb/early March and the pool was plenty warm enough to swim. The hosts were very friendly and we enjoyed chatting with them when they were walking through the pool area (they have access to another area through there but in no way was it disruptive). The hosts were respectful of our space, they don't use the pool while you are there. The neighbourhood has gorgeous houses, has lots of things to walk to. As we traveled through Houston we realized that there are nice areas interspersed with some more questionable ones but the area around this property felt 100%safe. The central location of this place always makes it easy to get to many museums, parks, restaurants and also easy access to the freeway to get to other places. Would highly recommend this property if you want something different to come back to at the end of the day...it's like two vacations in one!

My friends and I had a girls trip down to Houston, and this boho cottage was the perfect home base to explore the city. It’s beautifully decorated and Phil was a great host!

Lovely Moroccan paradise. From the green and red lanterns to the lovely rugs throughout, it was a nice getaway. Located in the Montrose area, there's lots of restaurants and shops. Thanks for everything!

We spent a wonderful weekend with friends here. The decor is amazing, the hosts were welcoming and the location was fabulous. The place is full of artifacts from around the world and great lighting. We loved the vibe and we will definitely be back!

I spent the weekend In Moroccan Paradise for a friend’s birthday. Loved it so much that we canceled our Saturday night dinner plans to have nibbles and wine by the pool again. We just wanted to soak up the feel of this space as long as we could. The decor is an antiques collection from the owner’s overseas travels, not hobby lobby imitations. We literally felt like we were sleeping in a museum. And so so fun!…Like being on an adventure. The house is in a historical district right off Westheimer so within walking distance to great restaurants. We also took a stroll around the neighborhood to look at the homes and properties. The VRBO was built in a carriage house behind the pool, and owners are in the main house, so our charming hosts were available if we needed anything at all. But of course they have already thought of anything guests might want so we didn’t need to disturb them for anything. The set up of the property gave us complete privacy. I felt like we were tucked away from the world and it was the perfect relaxing getaway. I have stayed in a lot of rentals of all kinds around the country and always hope to find something unique and fun. I have found my favorite and will be booking again later in the year for my birthday.

At first the check in was frustrating because I didn't read my emails. Once I realized that all of the information was sent there, it was a breeze. The pool was the perfect temperature for a morning dip, and so clean. Such great features throughout the home. We would definitely stay there again!

My fiancé booked this house for our last minute 4th of July weekend so we decided to bring my mom and grandma along . We all loved it my mom said she can finally say she stayed in a Genies 🧞‍♀️ magic lamp 🪔! Upon arrival we were greeted with a nice note and welcomed with a complimentary bottle of wine 🍷 which was a awesome gesture. We met both owners at different times whom were pleasantly friendly and welcoming as well as their 17 yr old dog who joined us by the pool when he heard our music . The pool was Perfect for this Houston heat and we stayed late out there with our music and were not bothered by no one . The washer and dryer came in very handy and the whole house was a sight to see decorations in every inch it was definitely a trip to ancient Morocco and India vibes . The rooms were a little warm for us but the two plug in fans were a help . Showers worked great and towels were provided . We even took my Grandma a whole photo shoot inside the house it was definitely a great memory for all of us .

The first thing we noticed upon entering the unit was the smell. It was VERY musty and mildew smelling. There were no towels provided for the pool like there was supposed to be, there were only 3 towels in the whole home. The first thing we noticed was that we had to contact Philip to heat the hot tub, which I did, and was told that the heater was broken, which meant that the pool couldn't be heated either. This unit was also advertised as having a PRIVATE pool and hot tub, available for use 24/7. Instead what we found on the instructions was that we only had two hours a day to use the hot tub and we had to pay $8/hr for any additional time, the hours we could use the pool were limited, and the pool was actually shared with the front house (their back windows look out over the pool). This was extremely frustrating and disappointing especially since 90% of the reason we chose this property was the pool and hot tub being available to us after a long day. IDK about you, but when I'm on vacation the last thing I want to do is SCHEDULE a time to go swimming or in the hot tub. If it's available with the rental it should be available 24/7. But in our case it didn't matter because the heater was broken anyway -_- Another issue is the showers. You'll get MAYBE five minutes of hot water. They'll tell you the water heater is functioning fine, and it is, but it's too small for the unit. There is a heavy layer of dust on all of the window decorations and all of the trinkets in the window boxes (which are not accessible by us, the guest, to be able to clean off... they are behind a kind of window cage). It doesn't seem like anyone has dusted or vacuumed in there in a while. My husband and I both left with awful sinus infections that we are still fighting off. There are dead bugs on the outside part of the bedroom "tent" that you can see when the lights are on and shining through it, there's stains on the wall in the master bedroom, the living room couches are horribly uncomfortable and when we sat on them dust puffed out, there's mold/mildew growing out of and around the air vents, and there's not a kitchen. If we had been trying to cheap out and stay at someone's crappy backyard rental to save money this place would have been perfectly acceptable. But for the same price we could have had a king room at Hotel Zaza, which we passed on to stay at this "dreamy" property with a "private pool". We were advertised luxury and got something we couldn't shower in

Absolutely amazing property. Owners were on site but kept to themselves and were extremely helpful when we needed assistance. Ended up hanging out at the houjse the majority of the weekend because we enjoyed it so much. Will certainly be back.

This truly was a unique and beautiful house, just perfect for a weekend getaway. The hosts were wonderful and the location couldn’t be better. While the weather didn’t want to cooperate and was cold and windy, it gave us the perfect excuse to relax in the hot tub. I absolutely recommend a stay here.

This is a very small one bedroom. There’s NO kitchen just a small sink and microwave. The pool and hot tub are for your private use but you only get two free hours and have to pay $8.00 per hour beyond that. It takes at least 2 hours to heat the water in the hot tub!
