Capt. Smith is a great apartment for a solo traveler, several couples, or a small family. The location near downtown Camden can't be beat, close to restaurants and shops, but in a quiet neighborhood . Jen and Eric have ensured a hassle-free stay with all the comforts of home supplied for your convenience. I don't think there's a single thing you'd need to augment the kitchen essentials to cook for a family. Weather permitting, the porch is a wonderful place to relax in the afternoon reading or sip a glass of wine in the evening. Thank you, Jen, for being so accessible and ready to help; and thank you, Eric, for your service and love of country. I appreciate it very much. Hope to see you both again soon. Kathy

The Capt Smith rental had everything we wanted for our Maine stay- delightful hosts, perfect location, beautiful furnishings, quiet although within walking distance to Camden Center - we loved it!!!

Having enjoyed Camden during one day visits on previous trips to Maine we were very diligent in searching VRBO for a place convenient to downtown and all it offers (a very short walk away) as well as a place we could relax and plan our day tips exploring the Mid Coast area. Breakfasts on the porch were perfect for that. Also used the grill on the porch for several meals reflecting on the day. Captain Smith was a great choice. Jen and Erik were wonderful hosts; timely answering what few inquiries we had.

The Captain Smith is a beautiful apartment located on a lovely property close to the heart of Camden. The hosts, Jen and Eric have thought of everything and are incredibly friendly. We had a great stay and highly recommend a visit to the Captain Smith.

Our experience in Camden was wonderful Jen and Eric were excellent hosts. The space was very clean, warm and comfortable. We had access to all the amenities and our hosts answered all of our requests . Would love to return next year.

Thoughtfully decorated and well-stocked, very pleasant and clean, a great location for walking to shops and harbor. Friendly, accessible hosts but also plenty of privacy and space. Nice porch for any time of day. We're hoping to return!

This was the perfect spot for our time in Camden. Short walk to all the shops, waterfront, and hiking but removed from the traffic of the main strip. Host was great, and house comfortably accommodated 6. Will be back next year!

We very much liked our home vacation rental. I sat in the living room in the morning with the sun coming through the stained glass windows. The whole house was really nice. We enjoyed walking to town and exploring the area. We would love to go back again. It was wonderful. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful.

The Capt Smith apartment was spacious, charming, and very accommodating. Jen and Erik were lovely host they're attention to detail made our stay amazing. Everything you could possibly need was provided. Would highly recommend and will definitely return.

The owners have created a top-notch rental property. Accommodations were so complete, we were left wanting nothing. The home is tastefully decorated and very, very comfortable. The location is perfect ... within walking distance to all downtown activity. The owners are friendly and committed to making great vacation memories for their guests. If we visit Camden again, this will be our choice for accommodations.

What a wonderful location and owner. Our family of two grandparents, two parents, and two little ones had a fabulous time. The property is incredibly well appointed and perfect for our needs.

Captain Smith’s is one of the nicest rentals I’ve stayed in. The apartment was spotless, spacious, and super comfortable! Jen thought of every little detail- down to the bowl of mini peppermint patties in the living room! She even set up a Christmas tree for us! We loved sitting in front of the cozy fireplace, reading our books or watching tv, and appreciated the well-equipped farmhouse kitchen, easy parking, and short 5-minute walk to downtown Camden. Jen & Eric were warm and welcoming and super responsive to our needs. I hope I get the chance to stay at Captain Smith again.

First off, have to say that Jen and Erik are the absolute best hosts, both super accommodating and nice! Their attention to detail in the Capt Smith went above and beyond all expectations. Their place is beautiful, super comfortable and is so welcoming and well stocked that you feel at home as soon as you walk in! I hope to be able to return someday! It was just a quick five minite walk to town, the quaintest little town in Maine! The harbor is so beautiful. Don't miss dinner at The Waterfront!

This was our third stay at Capt Smith, the second since Jen and Eric took over. We love it and it has only gotten better each year. Convenience to town and the waterfront is ideal - not so close as to be impacted by crowds, but an easy walk to shops and restaurants. House is extremely well equipped, every kitchen item and basic you could hope for. Even coffee, tea and accompaniments. Jen and Eric are very gracious, responsive and friendly. You really feel you are guests in their home. They have three lovely daughters, two big dogs, three cats and an evolving number of chickens! They are always available (they live upstairs) when you need them, but very quiet and not at all intrusive. I couldn’t recommend this place more highly. We’ll be back. Jack and Donna Hardy

Spacious charming and well appointed home with private wrap around porch. Short walk to town. All of comforts of home with well appointed kitchen, showers with soap and shampoo dispenser, shared laundry and parking,. Loved the character of the historic home that has been tastefully renovated and feels fresh and very clean. Definitely want to return!

Jen and Eric made our stay more than we ever could have imagined! Their attention to detail ensured that we had everything we needed. The house was very clean and comfortable for our family of 4; 2 adults and 2 teenagers. The house was located close to town so we could easily walk to all of the stores and restaurants. Jen and Eric were very friendly and so helpful in answering our questions. They provided a binder with tons of information about the area as well as ideas for rainy day activities. We are looking forward to a return trip to Capt Smith!

It was our "home away from home" beds were xtemely comfortable" kichen beautiful well stocked/spacious; very informative book was left with lots of helpful information...all of the places/day trips easy to get to & not too far away...I would highly recommend this house & would come back year after year...owners were very accomodating/super friendly!!! Jen and Eric are wonderful hosts and the house was beautifully restored by a craftsman. Conveniently located within walking distance of everything Camden has to offer.

Jen & Eric were great hosts. The apartment is beautiful. It's perfect for 2 couples. It's got everything you need for self-catering. Walking distance to Camden. We were able to drive to different towns & back for day trips. We throughly enjoyed the area & will go back at some point. It was a perfect time of year, not too crowded.

My sister, 2 (adult) nieces and I stayed here for "Girls Weekend". It was the perfect space, everything you might need, decorated lovely, beds comfortable. What more could you ask for? Eric and Jen, the owners who live upstairs, were there to help if needed but not intrusive. The layout would be perfect for 2 couples. Camden is a great small town . It is right on the water with nice shops and restaurants. Also short distance to other coastal Maine towns, like Belfast ,Rockland.

We had a short vacation stay in Camden in October 2017 and found this wonderful property that felt just like home. The house has three separate living areas. We rented the 3 bedroom, 2 bath apartment on the lower level of the house. There is another apartment on the lower level as well and the owners occupy their home upstairs. Jen and Eric (the owners) greeted us the night we arrived and we invited them in for a glass of wine. We got to know each other and immediately felt comfortable with our choice of vacation home. The apartment has all the amenities you need. It is beautifully kept up and in pristine condition. We started our days with coffee and lobster rolls eaten in the quaint kitchen or on the home's beautiful side porch. Just a short walk to town (about 2 blocks) brought us to the Camden Deli where we ordered our lobster rolls every morning for breakfast. We spent each day seeing the wonderful sights from Bar Harbor to Boothbay Harbor and returned every night to this wonderful property. If we had had more time, we would have cooked some fresh lobsters at the house. There is a grill on the porch and stockpots (or whatever you need) in the kitchen. We wanted to do this on our last night and invite Jen and Eric to join us but we got home too late from our excursion for that day. We absolutely will be back in Camden in the near future (this was our 9th trip) and will plan on staying at this beautiful home once again. If you are planning a trip to Maine, check to see if this property is available and book it. You will enjoy every aspect of your vacation home! It is truly your home away from home. If I could rate this higher than 5 stars I definitely would! It is a fantastic place to stay.

Our ladies group used this apt as homebase for our daily excursions north and south coastally. The kitchen is large with a table in the middle where we visited each evening. Camden is the sweetest little town with manageable traffic. (You get your own parking lot at this property.) We hope to return. 🏘
