Situated in the city centre. Cheap. Good kitchen

Uncomfortable beds The rooms were extremely warm in the summer. No fans Only AC in the common room. Loud street and poor soundproofing. The furniture in the common room were uncomfortable 50C and hour if you want to store your luggage. Unattentive staff Perhaps one of the less decent hostels I've stayed at.

Very good location within walking distance of both railway station and centre. Smooth check-in, I received a message indicating the digicode for the door, then there was actually someone at reception inside to give me the key to my room and show me around.

Unfortunately I can't give the accommodation a higher rating due to the configuration of the shared women's bathroom. There are 2 toilets with locks, but the shower is simply a glass door directly next to the washbasins. There is a lock on the outside door to the whole bathroom, but if you lock that, nobody else can access the toilets or washbasins. When I did so on the morning of departure to try and have a very quick shower, someone came and started banging on the door yelling at me to open up. They had a deep voice and I initially thought it was a man trying to get in. It was actually quite scary as they were shouting really aggressively. I'm sure they woke up everyone in the hostel (it was 6 a.m. and I'd deliberately tried to be as quiet as possible until then!) I pointed out that if you weren't meant to lock that door, there wouldn't have been a key... the staff hadn't given any particular instructions about it on arrival. The whole thing spoilt my experience of Zagreb. So don't choose this place if you want some privacy when taking a shower (which seems to me to be something quite basic for any accommodation, shared bathroom or not). Or unless you're prepared to have to wait for the toilet if someone else has dared to lock the outside bathroom door!

Good location, between train station and old town. Nice looking hostel, though a bit dark. No free tea or coffee provided, but when asked one of the staff provided a box of tea- I don't know if it was his personally? Could leave luggage after check out, though not in safe area, just in common room.

Only two toilets in men's bathroom one of which had a broken light which was never fixed. Only one shower and has a glass screen so not very private, so some guests locked the bathroom for themselves while they showered leaving nothing available for the rest of us. No laundry service provided, but one staff member said he would try and wash my clothes but after waiting for more than half a day and having tow wear the same underpants and socks for more than a day, I went and found a laundromat. No lockers provided.

The interior design

The hostel really struggled to keep up with basic maintenance. It took 3 days for them to replace a lightbulb, there was a toilet out of order, the shower head fitting of the only shower needs replacing, and the beds creaked so loudly when rolling over that it woke up people.

You have to try Daniel’s pasta. He’s awesome and a great cook. Just don’t be in a hurry because he takes his time. But it’s worth waiting for!

The location was excellent and having my own space was nice

The bed was incredibly uncomfortable. The shared shower had nowhere to store dry clothes so I had to move to the toilet in a towel and change in there. Additionally there was only one soap dispenser for hand washing across 3 sinks in the toilet which just wasn’t enough.

Location nearby with the city center just perfect. There was a nice guy in the reception, very helpful.

Very old window, it's hard to open and close it properly, so the draft from the window is minus. Because of this, the room was colder than would be comfortable.
