Stephanie is a great host and this house is so perfect for a getaway with friends and family! It is comfortable, clean and well appointed with everything you could need. We will definitely reserve again!

Awesome location on a beautiful lake. House was clean and a great set-up for 2 families. Everything was just as described. The owner was very responsive to questions we had before the trip. We were able to dock our boat rental and our college-aged kids loved kayaking and swimming in the cove. We had a great week!

This rental property was amazing!!! We could not be happier with our week at SML. The house had absolutely everything we needed and with all the extra touches provided we felt right at home. The beds were very comfortable and there is an abundance of space for lounging and family games. We loved the access to the lake(mere steps from the house) and the ease of docking a boat (we rented one for a few days). I normally rate rentals with the stars and a then a few quick comments but I really wanted to convey that this rental property goes down as one of our top 5! We travel a lot and with a large group it’s very hard to please everyone but this house exceeded our expectations. The owners are fantastic to work with and very prompt in answering any questions that may arise. They certainly love their home as it shows in every aspect and now we do too!

This was our first time visiting SML - can't beat this home's location. On the water, spacious and very clean! The owner, Stephanie is very communicative and ensures you have all the essentials. We have rented many homes on VRBO - this is a new family favorite. We will be returning!

The house was amazing. Kitchen very well stocked. Location on the lake was great. Most places have a lot of steps or steep grade to the dock, but this one did not. Had mother in law with mobility issues so the walk to the dock was perfect for her. Covered dock with a sofa to hang out on. Floating dock for the kids to swim off of. A floating slide also for the kids. A fire pit, which we unfortunately did not use. 2 kayaks to use. Reasonably located to grocery store and a marina to rent boat from. We plan on contacting Stephanie again to use in the future. Thank you Chris and Stephanie.

We have stayed at this house before. It has always been enjoyable. It’s a very nice lot with a gentle slope to the water and the house is large enough to accommodate eight people easily. Unfortunately during this week we had 45 days of nonstop rain.

This is a wonderful property with lots of extras that make it really special. Loved the basketball hoop in basement! The sunset from the nicely furnished dock is beautiful. Would definitely stay again!

This house has a tremendous location in a quiet, open section of the lake not far from the State Park. Clean, modernized inside, and convenient to the nearby park and grocery store. There's abundant decking, seating inside and out, and a comfortable primary dock complete with kayaks and a wraparound couch. Great spot.

I can't put into works what a wonderful time we had while staying at this house. The place is turn-key, you don't need to bring anything but your clothes! We spent almost all our time outside, either sitting on the wrap around deck or down on the dock, watching sun sets and sun rises. The dock was perfect for the boat we rented, and we couldn't have gotten better weather. The owner was very communicative and went above and beyond to to solve a TV issue we had with the cable company. You can't go wrong with this rental! We'll definitely be back. -aaron

We really enjoyed our week here. Met our three grandsons (and mom and dad). Loved spending time with them in a home setting. The kids rented a boat for the week. The dock area accommodated it very well. The boys loved jumping off the dock and using the slide as well. The deer and neighbors ducks were an added treat for the boys. Plenty of space and privacy for everyone. My oldest grandson (7) found a new live for ping pong and the youngest enjoyed the inflatable dinosaur! Only suggestion I might have is to add a pizza pan or two for the kitchen. It was very well stocked but if you think of adding a small appliance we would have used an air fryer quite a bit. This is a beautiful property on a beautiful lake and a wraparound deck that allows you to see it all.

We have been renting annually for 7 plus years on sml and have never rented a place more than once, this house being the exception. The home has a beautiful view of the lake with a great dock and gentle slope. The house is very comfortable for two families. We appreciate how clean and comfortable this home is. Stephanie has been a wonderful host. Thank you!

Our family has loved SML and we have vacationed here for 35 years. We have been home owners, but as our family expanded so did our need for more space. This was our 2nd VRBO and we loved this home! It was perfect for our family. There was plenty of space for the grandchildren to get naps without everyone else being quiet. The home was super clean and had everything we needed. The flat lot on big open water was glorious! The grounds keeper and property manager were very helpful when needed. We would love to return again for summer vacation!

This is probably our 7th stay at Covepoint over the past 10 years and it never disappoints! We typically stay late in the season when the lake is quiet so it was fun to experience a different, more active vibe this year during the week before the 4th. We never run out of new areas to explore by boat or quiet little beaches to anchor at for a picnic and swim. We enjoyed eating at both Jake's and Drifter's as well as happy hour at Portside...all very easy boat rides from the house. We rent our boat from Bridgeport Marina each year and have always had excellent service. (We especially enjoy the tritoon boats they've added to their fleet the past couple of years.) Our favorite spot however on the entire lake is always the dock at Covepoint anytime of the day or evening. The firepit is also fabulous at night with the endless stars overhead. Stephanie and Chris were the perfect hosts as always. They were even vacationing abroad during this recent stay and still texted us to make sure all was well! As I've said in all of my past reviews, we highly recommend Covepoint and we will return!

This is an outstanding property in a superb location managed by true professionals who clearly want you to enjoy the lake experience as much as they do. The house was immaculately clean upon arrival, the kitchen superbly outfitted, and WiFi to conduct a few business calls during the week was excellent. Everything is geared towards ensuring the guest focuses on one thing…relaxing and the hosts knocked it out of the park!

Our stay at Covepoint was great. The house was clean, roomy and had all the essential cooking appliances, dishes and cutlery that one would need. The wrap around deck was used often and both we and the deer enjoyed the yard and the fire pit. Sitting on the dock at night was extremely enjoyable. We rented a boat at the Bridgewater Marina, cruised the lake and docked at Covepoint to have lunch. We highly recommend this rental.

We booked a three week stay with different family members joining us each week. This was an all adults, no kids vacation. We lucked out to only get one day of mild rain during the whole stay. We enjoyed coffee each morning on the shaded deck enjoying the lakeview and the deer. The seating on the dock was very comfortable. A wonderful place to read a good book or enjoy a cocktail. We all hated to leave. The property is exactly as described in the listing and very well maintained. The neighborhood is lovely with friendly neighbors. We had no surprises, exactly what we had hoped for. Stephanie and Chris also own the house next door and were at the lake during our first week. Stephanie greeted us at the house when we arrived. Chris stopped by to introduced himself the next day. This worked out surprisingly well. - when we texted that we were having problems with the Keurig, they delivered another unit in 15 minutes. From the day we first reserved the property, our communication with Stephanie have been timely, friendly and professional. We could not have asked for a better host. The many reviews were very helpful and aided us in making a great choice.

Best rental we’ve had on the lake in 3 years. We had a 22ft boat and a jetski that we launched via a close neighborhood ramp and had storage for both trailers at the property. The second dock in the no wake cove is ideal for keeping your watercraft safe away from the lake traffic. The house itself is very clean and the kids loved the basketball net on lower level and ping pong. The neighborhood itself is a beautiful walk with too many deer to count. We already booked another stay next year…. thank you Stephanie!

Great place for a family vacation. The large sofa on the covered dock was enjoyed by everyone. The house was comfortable with a large deck and plenty of seating both inside and out. We used the gas grill and fire pit several times. We were only 10 minutes from Food Lion. Stephanie was very helpful.

We have been renting on the lake for ten years with our family and friends. There are a lot of wonderful homes on the lake, but this one by far has been my favorite. The home is very spacious, clean, well stocked home. The extras Stephanie and Chris provide with linens is a gigantic help when considering we do not need to bring all of those items. The house is positioned beautifully with wide open water views on a gentle lot. The dock is a comfortable shaded space for lounging and having fun swimming. Our kids loved the slide and kayaks. Just an overall wonderful week at the lake! Thank you Stephanie and Chris!

We have just returned from a week at Covepoint and we would highly recommend this VRBO to anyone! We had four children and four adults and the house size was perfect. We enjoyed the location on the lake, close to Bridgewater marina as well as many coves great for water sports!! The slide was a hit for the kids and the dock location was perfect for all!! Stephanie was prompt to respond to any questions and very accommodating while on property. If you are looking for a great rental on SML - look no further!!!

This was our first stay and the property is just like it is listed. The biggest plus was the giant yellow slide that my kids couldn't get enough of...and it is the only one on the lake! The views from the dock of Smith Mountain are beautiful and you are only 10 minutes from the shopping center with Food Lion so the location is wonderful. Stephanie and Chris have put a lot of time and thought into their property, everything is really easily listed, especially all the light switches! We will look to come again, it was really an amazing spot on the lake and the house was perfect!

Can't say enough wonderful things about our stay at Covepoint. The house was in great condition (clean and with all amenities in working order) Property and dock also well maintained. We felt like we were right at home but with so many awesome perks! Marina, restaurants, and grocery were close by. (Book your boat months in advance.) The cove is cozy and serene with gorgeous sunsets and proved to be a fun location for fishing. The kids loved the slide and we all took a few spins in the kayaks. The property manager was very communicative and responsive to all of our questions. Would highly recommend Covepoint for families with kids :)

We loved this property. The location was perfect, easy drive or boat ride to Bridgewater Plaza. We had everything we needed. There was enough room for our family of 8 to be together as well as have our own space inside and out. The a/c and hot water worked great. The house is beautifully decorated, well maintained and very comfortable. There are lake views throughout the house. Stephanie was great and we look forward to staying again.

This is probably our 5th or 6th stay at Covepoint and it never gets old! They keep it in tip top shape...just recently they've replaced the long driveway and added a beautiful paver patio and new landscaping. I can't say enough good things about the property, the owners and the setting. We will return!

This was the perfect getaway for our family of 7. The house is amazing. Very clean, nicely decorated, the master suite is huge. Plenty of space in the home for us to spread out, but still felt cozy and comfortable. The dock was the perfect place for us to spend our days and evenings too! Very peaceful setting. The owners have thought of everything! We’ve rented many homes over the years and I have to say this is one of the best. The kitchen lacked nothing. We cooked almost every meal and there was never a time I didn’t have what I needed. The driveway had just been paved and the lawn was newly landscaped so it was all beautiful! Very well cared for home and lot. If we ever come back to SML we will absolutely stay at Covepoint! Such a great vacation, we were sad to leave!

Our family loved our week at Smith Mt Lake. Covepoint is a perfect location - the view of the cove, the state park, the mountains are SO relaxing! We found all that we needed at this lovely home. Everything was so well laid out and labeled for ease of finding items and returning them to their places! Plenty of parking, and lots of rooms for separate activities/privacy as needed for seven adults. Having a keypad at the front door was helpful for our coming and going. Stephanie is an excellent host and communication with her was easy. The extras that were provided - such as seasoned firewood for the firepit - were above and beyond what we expected.

Had a lovely time at this beautiful property. Stephanie is a thoughtful and responsive hostess! Plenty of space for our large family to spread out and also ample room/set up to gather for meals and board games. Highly recommend -we will stay again in the summer for sure!

We enjoyed our 4th stay at Covepoint in the past 6 years. Once again, we can honestly and very simply say it is by far the best rental home on beautiful SML. Each year I honestly do surf through various other listings to perhaps “switch it up” but each time, we return! The location, amenities and comforts of this home as described in their post cannot be outdone. Needless to say, we will return!
