The property was exactly what we were looking for; a waterfront, relaxing cottage in the paradise of the Gulf Islands. We highly recommend this property and will return ourselves when we have the opportunity.

We couldn’t have been happier with our stay. The house is comfortable, clean, and modern. We saw orcas a few times, otters, seals, deer, and eagles all from the outdoor couch and beach. A perfect place for a memory making vacation. Thank you!

Beautiful oceanfront location, cozy wood burning fireplace, all the ingredients for a perfect weekend getaway!

Within a few hours of waking from our slumber the first morning at Higgs St. house we saw three seals sunning themselves on the rocky output inside the bay, several seals, a couple of sea lions (!), several adorable sea otters, great blue herons, magestic bald eagles and beautiful Harlequin waterfowl. All within this beautiful, private and sheltered little bay, Drummond Bay. It was absolute magic and to our delight this natural habitat and wildlife within it became part of our daily viewing. We didn't see any whales....perhaps next trip! We've always known Pender Island to be magical in some way, but this stay confirmed it. We took the opportunity to explore many trails (Enchanted Forest, George Hill, Clam Bay, Oak Bluffs to name a few....) but honestly we loved our daily walks down the road to the point meandering the waterfront. On our last day we had the tremendous delight to see the most incredible jellyfish we've ever seen....we looked it up and it was most likely Phacellophora camtschatica, commonly known as a fried egg (or egg yolk) jellyfish. Absolutely spectacular! So the only thing we missed seeing were whales....no whales-maybe next trip! The cottage! Well, there isn't much to say because it is Perfect and the photos represent it well. It was super comfortable, warm (even through a power outage) and we had all that we needed to be self sufficient. (The only thing we would suggest is a recycling bin.) We were also fortunate enough that the cottage was available for us to extend our stay when a family member at home was getting sick (and we wanted to avoid our germy household!) and John was quick to respond to our inquiry. On that note, John is an amazing host, easy to communicate with, informative and quick to respond. Thank you John and Janis for sharing your beautiful little paradise. We are so very grateful and hope to return again soon.

This is a such beautiful serene property! The cottage has floor to ceiling windows that overlook the ocean and skylights, very bright and spacious, perfect for 2 couples. There were lots of thoughtful touches like boardgames, excellent binoculars and a book about local birds, and a cozy woodburning fireplace... the list goes on. We saw a group of dolphins, and a seal right from the patio. We brought our kayaks and this was the perfect place to launch them from. We would definitely stay here again.

An absolutely wonderful stay yet again at this property! John is an impeccable host and so accommodating. We love this home for the wildlife and nature did not disappoint……seals, otters, porpoise, sea lions, orcas (3 different days) and lots of bird life especially the hummingbirds (I love them). We hope to return again and again!!! Thanks a bunch!

What a wonderful location to relax and watch the beautiful nature outside your door. Tasteful renovations that maximize the view of the ocean / skyline. We passed the time watching the boats and the birds go by. Excellent place to explore and recharge your batteries. Highly recommended for a coupe or a small family getaway!

Lots of marine life! Quiet spot. Lovely cottage. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!! We live remotely rural in Alberta so the public beach access to the right of the property took some getting used to. Urban dwellers would probably not find this an issue. Definitely would return again if given the opportunity.

We were delighted to return to this cabin, which is our favourite VRBO property. The oceanfront location, cozy accommodations, spectacular scenery and wildlife viewing always recharges our batteries and makes us feel on top of the world! John Mann is an impeccable host; cannot recommend this property highly enough!

What a fabulous location and what a beautifully decorated  and well organized home away from home. The views are spectacular and at times you feel as if you are on a boat as you look directly at the waves. We were lucky to experience a storm with waves crashing on the rocks as well as brilliant sunshine that was perfect for watching the resident sea lions relaxing on the rocks. The fireplace was a delight and the woodshed is generously stocked. We loved every minute and hope our calendars will connect once again someday soon!

It was wonderful to be able to light a fire in the fireplace in the evening.We loved the views of the water. This is our second time staying- we had a lovely time as we did first time around. The windows and light are wonderful! Amzing location on the beach. We love the proximity to Brooks Point regional park and just the quiet. Great place to recharge. House was super clean and well appointed. John was fantastic at replying promptly to questions.

Wonderful views and quiet surroundings

Beautiful, peaceful, what more can we say!

The location of the property could not have been better for enjoying a relaxed oceanfront vacation. John was great to deal with. Very responsive even while in different time zones. We would return.

What can I say? The house was spectacular, clean, well equipped and a view/location that can’t be beat. The beach is beautiful at high tide, and so interesting at low tide. Saw otters, deer, whales, eagles, herons, mink, ospreys constantly. The brooks point park next door is an excellent walk. The kayaking right off the beach was great, plus you can go to quieter water over at Bedwell harbour or port Browning Marina. peaceful and private - Don’t tell anyone, save it for me next year. 🙂�

We stayed here for 3 nights with our two kids, 6 and 4yrs, and I couldn't recommend it enough. We saw seals, otters, deer and porpoises. The home had everything we could imagine and was very comfortable. It was steps from the beach, and the kids could play out there on their own while we watched from the great wall of windows. We went for walks every day along the rocky coast and the kids loved climbing along all the rocks. We will 100% be returning!

We love this spot so much! The owners take great care to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Personally think this is the best spot in the gulf islands and we return every year- sometimes twice! Seals, beach and oceanfront, otters, bald eagles, lovely home and such accommodating owners- what more could you want? We think nothing! Hard to fit in all the good things one could tell about! :)

We had another fantastic week staying at the Brooks Point cottage! It so comfortable and peaceful, and there so many great walks / hikes to enjoy! We look forward to our next visit. Barb

A beautiful well equipped home at a great location. The weather was in our favour and it was warm and sunny for the duration of our stay. I imagine it would be no less spectacular in any weather though as the ocean and wildlife provide continuous entertainment.

Very comfortable and well equipped cottage in an absolutely perfect location.So happy that we found this spot for our very spontaneous November family time. It was hard to leave.

Beautiful setting, lovely cottage, great views, lots of wildlife both on the water and on land. Couldn't be better! Those front windows on the water are outstanding and we could barely take our eyes off the ever changing water views. This is our second time at this cottage and we had a great time.
