Great place, everything was close by, clean and very reasonably priced

Older, quaint, but it has some quirks.

This property is not well-maintained.It's listed as a non-smoking house but when we arrived there was a smell of smoke in the apartment. We called the landlord who assured us it was a non-smoking house and that he would tell the other tenant to smoke further away from the house. That night we woke up to the strong smell of cigarette smoke. We believed it must have come through the heat ducts. As an asthmatic this was a problem. Landlord was very receptive to our concern and asked us to give him 1 more chance to correct the problem. In the morning we went to make toast, when we plugged in the toaster it sparked and within 30 seconds of starting the toast the smoke detector went off. Later that day when we arrived back to the apartment the ceiling in the bathroom was leaking. The water was dripping through the track lighting on the ceiling and there was a large puddle on the floor. We noted there was rust on the track lighting and concluded that this was not the first time this has happened. In addition, we found a GFI outlet in the bathroom had arced at some point, was covered with soot and hidden with a nightlight. In addition, the entry door doesn't latch closed unless it's dead-bolted. We left the premises that night and contacted the landlord. We paid $1,185 for 7 nights stayed one night and were given $545 back, we then paid $700 for another place to stay for the remaining nights. We won't use VRBO in the future, buyer beware.

Clean and nice stay. Lots of space. Everything was available for our use. There was some road noise. Quiet after 10 pm.

The property is billed as a New York theatre style property—and it lived up to its billing. The property is an open architecture design, very modern day decorated, and comfortable. It is near downtown Deland, which is loaded with great places to eat. Anyone staying in area would do well to book this place!
