We had an amazing experience staying with the Guntli's - my children were asking if we could live there forever! The location is perfect - it is right next to the train station, with a gorgeous view in the beautiful town of Andelfingen. If you are looking to visit this part of Switzerland, I highly recommend the Guntli's - you are close to Zurich by train and can spend the day there, or you can visit the breathtaking Rheinfalls, or you can spend the day enjoying the beauty of Andelfingen itself. The property itself is just as described - you are on the 3rd floor of the Guntli's house, with total privacy in your own space, and with the gracious help from the Guntli's when it is needed. You have a private bathroom, a refrigerator, a space to eat, plenty of spaces to sleep, toys for children if that is something that you need - a warm, lovely home to be in when you are not touring. I am extremely picky about cleanliness, and this was the cleanest space I have ever stayed in - clearly, the hosts make sure that all details are attended to! It was just so wonderful to be in a space where your hosts are present and caring for you. I cannot recommend this highly enough - we are a family, and so I can say it is especially perfect for families wanting to tour this region, but I can also imagine others loving the space and finding it perfect as well!

The hosts are excellent! Great communication and clean, quiet lodging. There is not a kitchen in the apt but the family was kind enough to let us use their personal kitchen so we could prepare our dinner. It is very convenient for train users. The only small inconvenience was having to navigate our luggage up a flight of steep steps. The place is located only 30 minutes from the Zurich Airport which worked out great for our family.

Guntli’s Family guesthouse was a great place to stay for us to visit Zürich, and we ended up loving Andelfingen too! David and Nisrine were warm and welcoming hosts and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Would stay here again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our brief yet wonderful stay with David and Nisrine during our overnight layover in Zurich. They graciously helped us with our needs such as transportation from the airport even after a flight delay - what else is new in 2022?! - as well as back to the airport. Their guest area worked great for our family consisting of my 2 kiddos, my mom, and myself and my husband. Their welcoming home helped our family enjoy a respite in an otherwise very long trip back to our home. Thank you very much, David & Nisrine! Hopefully, next time we can stay longer!

Awesome family house, more room than we could use. Tons of rooms with beds. Ate outside in their beautiful garden. They gave us silverware for dinner, extra towels, anytime check-in, even a pain reliever for wife's headache. Great people and a huge space up some stairs, with amazing view.

David and Nisrine made us absolutely feel at home. Would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a cozy comfortable environment to wind down.

Die Lage der Unterkunft ist ruhig und idyllisch, aber dennoch gut angebunden. Der Bahnhof und das kleine Zentrum befinden sich in unmittelbarer Nähe. Die Bahnstrecke ist elektifiziert und der Bahnverkehr kaum zu hören. Die Unterkunft befindet sich im Dachgeschoss, sauber und gut ausgestattet. Unsere Kinder konnten sich frei an den vorhandenen Spielsachen bedienen. Die einzelnen Zimmer sind durch Türen getrennt, gerade bei kleineren Kindern lässt es sich gut separieren. Die Gastgeber David und Nesrine sind sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Gerne wieder.

Overall, I would have given the hosts and the place a very positive rating, but I made the mistake of assuming the hosts were vaccinated. I just assumed since they host international travelers that they would want to be vaccinated to protect their family. Although we were vaccinated, the data is still out on breakthrough infections. The hosts didn’t wear masks, but once I put mine on, they did as well. I know there is a lot of controversy about vaccines and masks but I would have appreciated being informed about this. Lesson learned! Never assume anyone is vaccinated. You must ask them directly.

The owners were very kind and understanding! We were very late arriving to their house. Thank goodness it was convenient to the train. We hope to stay there again when we head to Zermatt again!

We chose the house because it's located between the swiss skills park in Winterthur and the Rheinfall near Schaffhausen. The house is located close to a train station and therefore easily accessible with public transport. Our hosts were very friendly and made us feel at home at their place. We had very interesting conversations and they also helped us with the planning of our excursions. At the same time we also had 100% privacy, as we had the top floor of the house all for ourselves. I can highly recommend the place.

We had a lovely time at this peaceful and queit guesthouse. Yet close to shops in the village. The host couple are very helpful and wonderful people! The surrounding area is very besutiful! Absolutely recommend it!
