We enjoyed our stay here. Hilde was great to get back to us with questions. The only problem we had was the entry gate into the resort. The code we were given did not work. Luckily we had someone coming into the resort as we were trying to leave and he told us the code changes every 6 months and have us the correct code. The gate to the villa does not have a remote, so you are having to pull and push it open each time you want to enter/exit. Very heavy gate to slide manually. We were able to see the flamingos every morning and evening! Very spacious house and super clean. If you are traveling from US, they were plenty of adapters. But no wash cloths for your face and body, so bring those with you! The pool was very dirty, wood at the bottom and didn't look like it had been cleaned for awhile. Even after we skimmed the top, didn't feel comfortable swimming in it. Not a big deal, you have beaches too explore on the island! Bed was comfortable. We only had 2 people so we used the bedroom on the main level. We really enjoyed the outdoor seating areas (3). Gorgeous gardens at the villa. Plenty of dinnerware, etc. It is a 25 min drive if you are going into the city for dinner. Very convenient to the beautiful beaches of Grote Knip and Kleine Knip. We had the best snorkeling here. Check out the beautiful view from Santa Martha Bay which is nearby. And dinner at Tinto Bar y Cocino @ Jan Thiel beach was AMAZING! Sat right at the water. Would stay here again. Thank you!

We had a great time. Nice property and location.

-No air conditioning in the living room/kitchen main shared area. This would not have been a issue if there was screens on the sliding doors to keep bugs out so you could get a breeze in the house or if there was a fan provided by the host. When we arrived there was a fan in the house, but it didn’t work when we plugged it in. When we reached out to management they stated the fan was new and then said it was bought by previous guests so they wouldn’t provide a working fan. I asked what the best way to keep the living area cool and usable was- should we open the windows and doors or would the house fill with bugs? I got no response. -There is no hot water upstairs. They stated this was due to the water being heated by a sun collector, but we didn’t have hot water for the remainder of our trip. When I reached out later about the lack of hot water we didn’t receive a response from the management. -Management of the house does not have good communication skills. The checkin paperwork states that management would meet you at the house at checkin and go over things such as appliances, check the electric meter (since you’re charged for excess use of electricity), etc. This was not true as we never met management of the home during our stay. -There are not beach towels in the house, we used bath towels. This didn’t seem like a big deal except the towels are very fluffy and take days hanging outside in order to dry. -The beach accesses are overgrown by weeds and cacti.

Home was as described, clean and amazing views. We enjoyed going to Cas Aboa Beach which was just a short drive.

The villa had the most beautiful view. It was fully stocked, quiet, private and luxurious. The perfect spot for a wonderful vacation. Woul recommend to anyone.

Good communication. Entry procedures were as described. House is nice and also unique. One thing to know is that it is basically all open air upstairs where the main common area is located. Was plenty of breeze and we were comfortable. We spent most of our time at the upper outdoor table area or at the pool. Bedrooms do have AC. Bedrooms are split between floors, which worked well for use. Pool was clean. Not a single problem or issue.

I would unconditionally recommend this house for your Curacao vacation. The view was wonderful. There are so many activities to do in Curacao and the people are great. The only issue would be the bugs. The house has everything you need to cook the meals you may want during your stay, but with the number of good restaurants around you might not want to cook.

The property is nice enough, if not a little run down. The hosts were very easy to communicate with when things went wrong, which unfortunately happened more than once. They were prompt to investigate any issues. One complaint is that the "king beds" were two small twins pushed together with no support so they would frequently spread apart. Otherwise, the pool was nice and views were spectacular. It was lovely to enjoy the view and the breeze in the outdoor dining area.

We were a group of 6 adults who recently stayed at Villa Barbulete. House was beautiful and well equipped. We utilized the bedrooms that enabled each couple to have their own private bathroom, and this gave us all total privacy. View from the upper deck was incredible and we spent time in the day watching boats in the sea, and every evening watching spectacular sunsets. Pool was warm and we spent many hours just soaking in it. Els and Ronald were very responsive in answering our questions about the house layout and changing our booking for us when our airline cancelled our original flights. My only complaint, and I know that this has no reflection on them, is that the noseeums were insane. Despite the noseeums, we had a wonderful vacation and if we return to Curacao, would stay at this house again.

We love visiting Caribbean islands and have been traveling a lot but this villa Barbulette is super special and state of architectural art. Spacious incredibly ergonomic and just simple beautiful with pool facing the spectacular ocean view that is one of the kind in Curasao and pink flamingos visiting you daily in lagun. Amazing! Booked already for next time.

Bedrooms all have individual access and 2 are on one floor and 3 on another floor with access from outside only. The balcony was like in a movie. Could use more towels per room, fans in the great rooms where there is no ac and master bath did not drain well. All of that is minor, the house is really spectacular.

Awesome Location . Secluded Neighborhood. Near by beaches. Soak the day away in your private pool. Everything you could want.

The home was in good condition and the setting was fantastic, the views are out of this world. While the location was fantastic I just wish the description was a bit more detailed regarding the layout, we are a family of 6 and didn’t realize all of the bedrooms apart from the master are only accessible from the outside of the home. This made it a bit of a challenge with little ones. Additionally I would encourage the owners to provide fans for the un air conditioned spaces of the home and the kitchen and family room for incredibly hot at times with no breeze outside. Lastly I wish the property had screens on all the openings as the bugs and were out and biting when the wind was low.

Villa Barbulete was a very nice, spacious, gorgeous home. The view was spectacular. The security around the whole neighborhood and home was comforting. The pool was cool and refreshing with plenty of shade. We definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a more luxurious home feel.

We stayed here for 8 days and it was the perfect location to be able to explore the whole island and everything it has to offer. Amazing views and sunsets and the pool was amazing to have!

Breathtaking views, amazing scenery. Lot of rooms that can accommodate >10 people. Clear communication,safe peaceful and quiet areas. Need to bring extra toilet paper, dishwashing rack, dishwashing liquid, soaps. Would be good if there was a small amount of above stuff provided.

We just returned from a 12 day stay at Villa Barbulete and it was probably one of those breathtaking places we have ever stayed. The house was gorgeous, the view was breathtaking, we were in heaven. We had a party of 6 that stayed there and everyone had plenty of space and enjoyed the property equally. The only thing I would mention is that all of the other bedrooms aside from the master do not have access to the main house. Every bedroom has a separate door and lock. It was fine for us because our kids were older, but if my kids had been young, I would have figured out a new plan. :) Don't question staying here. Beautiful.

Great location in a residential area on the island. We really enjoyed all the outdoor seating areas around the property and the constant breeze. The pool was refreshing and the overall amenities were excellent. The proximity to the beach, grocery stores, dining and shopping, made the trip enjoyable and stress free.

We had a party of 8 celebrating my parents' 60th wedding anniversary. The villa was absolutely delightful. The view is spectacular. The property manager was very helpful. Everything was just as advertised. Having Cas Abao Beach in easy driving distance was ideal. It's a 20-30 minute drive to Willemstad, so if you're looking for a city experience, this is not the place for you. But if you're looking for a quiet villa with lots of living space for family and friends with a spectacular view, Villa Barbulete is perfect!

Everything about our stay was perfect. The home has everything except beach towels :-) If you want all the tourist traps this is not the place for you. The home has a very private setting in a quiet, gated neighborhood with amazing views of the sea below and perfect sunsets from the pool! Hilde and Gerrit (the property managers) were very helpful and responded immediately when called upon. Gerrit even came out on Sunday morning after I messed up the bedroom air conditioning controls (I could not make the controls shut off the unit...all my fault but he quickly got us back on track) Ronald & Els had several useful recommendations in the information booklet and prior to our arrival that made our stay very special. All-in-all, the best vacation spot on the planet!

We spent a month at Villa Barbulete and weren't ready to leave! The location and views are spectacular. The home is well equipped, clean, spacious and beautiful. The (new) managers were personable and quick to respond. Pre-trip communication with the owners was terrific. The instructions to get to the property from the airport were spot on and included helpful photos. They also sent a complete information document with restaurant and grocery recommendations, things to do, etc in addition to basic house info. We were 2 adults so no problem with the additional bedrooms being on a lower floor with no access through the home. If you are traveling with young children it may be an issue. We did struggle with the microwave/convection oven and never got the microwave function to work. Don't know if it is broken or if it was operator error. Other than that, the kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need to prepare and serve a meal. The large outdoor gas grill is brand new. The king size bed in the master bedroom is really two twins pushed together, each with separate sheets and duvets. The pillows could use replacing. With such a long stay, we were happy to have a washer and dryer. They are very tiny. If you need to launder towels and bedding for a lot of guests, prepare to do multiple loads. There is a large drying line outside that was great for wet swimsuits. We saw some previous guests complaining about the lack of air conditioning in the main living area. It was never a problem for us as there is always a nice breeze when you open the doors and windows. The numerous outdoor seating areas always gave options for choosing a cool place to enjoy whatever you are doing. Be aware, it's the tropics so bring bug spray for the biting bugs! The home is in a residential area. Quiet at night but there were some evenings of constant barking dogs and there is currently a lot of construction in the neighborhood during the day. We liked the location of the villa on the island. It is about half way between the less congested Westpunt area with it's parks and hiking and Willemstad. Cas Abou Beach is at the bottom of the hill so very convenient. There are many other beaches within a short drive. There are a couple of smaller grocery stores close by and it was only a 20-30 minute drive to the larger and better stocked groceries closer to Willemstad. Did we mention the sunsets...the views...AMAZING!

We had an amazing experience renting Villa barbulette to spend some rest and relaxation with our friends. The kitchen was fully stocked, and the view absolutely amazing. The only hiccups we experienced was a lack of hot water for showers and a few unwelcome interactions with a few construction workers completing a home across the street from the property. While the workers advances were no fault of the owner it made the women in the party uncomfortable about the safety of the space. Overall we enjoyed the Villa and would recommend for families looking to get away.

House was the perfect home base for our travels to the beaches across the island. Well stocked kitchen, beautiful bathrooms and balcony overlooking the sea and salt flats. Pool was nice for swimming. Truly enjoyed our stay!

Overall we enjoyed staying at the villa It is in the private location on the island The house is beautiful and spacious with the magnificent views The only shortcomings were lack of AC in the kitchen area and living areas (described prior to rental). We found that trade winds were insufficient in keeping the area cool at night And small size of the weber grill (way too small for six people) Otherwise good property matching the description on the website

It is an amazing house with an absolutely gorgeous view and setting! It was only the three of us so we didn’t use most of the bedrooms but place would be great for multiple families vacationing together. Motel-style in that each bedroom’s door leads out to outside area. The 2 bedrooms upstairs are not joined and only the master has en suite bathroom. So my 14 yr old used ours or the powder room off living room. This set up would not be ideal if my son was younger and needed to be attached to our room. But he enjoyed the independence otherwise and even had an outside sitting area nearby. There are 6 or 7 different outside seating areas that we circulated through depending on mood, breeze, sun position- all with their own benefits. Gorgeous! Definitely bring bug spray- knats are brutal at times. The place would really benefit from a few outdoor fans. Otherwise cant say enough good things about the location and space!

What an awesome place. Can't beat the location and the views!! The house has everything you need, it is huge which was really good for our 2 families. Communication with the owners and property manager was flawless. Highly recommended. We would come back in a heartbeat! Don't hesitate to book.

Everything was great and the views were jaw dropping. Wish we could have stayed longer but our trip was cut short due to covid 19. We plan on going back!
