We had a great stay over St. Paddy’s day! There was a hiccup with VRBO not notifying Cathy we were coming (which is why I docked a star, this is more for VRBO than the apartment), but she jumped on it immediately and had the apartment cleaned and stocked within two hours of our unexpected arrival! She was able to coordinate all of this from Los Angeles, at 8pm on the Saturday night before St. Paddy’s day. The apartment is in a very convienent location, 2 minute walk to the Crane Bar and 10 min walk to the Latin quarter. Everything worked great, the heated bathroom floors were a great surprise!! Hope we get to visit again soon!

We loved staying at Cathy’s apartment. Very cozy living room complete with every tourist brochure you could want and all kinds of breakfast goodies. A real treat washer and dryer and a very large bed. We stayed a week and it was great. Cathy was readily available for any questions we had. Thanks Cathy Debbie and Glenn. California USA

The apartment is located walking distance from downtown, and even closer to the famous Crane Bar. It is comfortable and very attractive, has everything needed, and even offers room to stretch and wash clothes. A grocery is a block away, and, should you need it, medical services and a pharmacy are across the street. Best of all, Cathy greeted us with a basket of goodies and loads of information. We had a parking space, but it was (typically for the area) in a tight location. The good thing is that we didn't really need a car. I highly recommend this apartment! I'll stay again if I make it back.

My wife and I spent 4 great nights at Silver Acres and couldn't have been happier with our choice. It was impeccably clean, well stocked, and very cozy for two people. Location was great--an easy walk to all of Galway's busier locations, but still very quiet at night. The apartment is pretty small, but laid out well and really maximizes the space well. It's great for two people, or maybe parents with one small child. The kitchen is stocked really well if you want to cook meals at home. Another fry pan or two would be a nice addition. Bathroom is clean and sufficient and having laundry facilities is a huge plus. We rented a car and chose to pay the extra fee to use their reserved parking spaces and that was a great convenience for us. Liz was a fantastic host, too. She was eager to greet us and give us lots of groceries when we arrived, and was easy to reach by phone/text when a few other questions arose during the week. We was accessible but never intrusive. You can tell that they take pride in keeping their rentals spotless and making sure their guests enjoy their stays. You would not get this type of care and attention at a hotel. If you are navigating via Google maps, it can be a little tricky to find. They emailed detailed instructions ahead of time, but there is a business housed in the same building (DV Mannion & Co) and we had no issues when using that business as the destination in Google maps. If you try to enter the specific street address, you will likely get confused. Really, the only minor gripe we had was that the WiFi service was somewhat spotty and the signal was only reliable in the front of the apartment.

A fantastic, quiet location in Galway city. We had a lovely two week stay in this beautiful flat. The owner was helpful and personable and greeted us with fresh flowers and an amazing welcome basket. This cosy flat is a short walk to the market, the eclectic West End, and the beautiful walking path along the bay. We highly recommend!

What a perfect place for our stay in Galway....comfortable, cozy and location, location- perfect! You really feel at home in this lovely, well equipped apartment and Liz is the most gracious and charming host! Can't wait to visit again!

This apartment was a great find to stay at in Galway. The location is perfect, with a short walk to everything, but then quiet at night and on weekends. Perfect for executive stay or retreat and outfitted for comfortable longer durations. The host was wonderful and available as much as needed, although you will need nothing in this wonderfully furnished apartment. Stop looking and stay here. I will again without hesitation.

We had such a wonderful time at this lovely apartment. There were so many nice additions, like a heated floor in the bathroom, a separate freezer to appease the Americans ;-), top notch appliances, a comfortable bed and a lovely sitting room. On top of the great condition and perfect location (only a few blocks from town and shopping), the owner prepared a delightful basket of food for us that fed us our breakfast and snacks throughout our stay. Fresh flowers adorned the dining room table. We really enjoyed the town and the option to escape quickly back to our little nest. We're looking forward to going back. I couldn't recommend this lovely apartment higher.

Our family of six stayed in the Silver Teal and Silver Acres apartments while visiting our daughter who was studying at NUI-Galway for the semester. The apartments are impeccably clean and perfectly situated for walking around Galway, or day trips driving to Kylemore Abbey and the Cliffs of Moher. Liz is incredibly charming, warm, and gracious - one of the most memorable hosts we've ever met:)

Our two week stay at the Silver Acres Apartment in Galway was PERFECT in every way. The perfection started with our arrival as we were graciously greeted by Liz who presented us with a beautiful vase of Roses and a gift basket full of wonderful foods, snacks, teas, and coffee. We found Liz and her staff to be dedicated to making sure that our stay with them was nothing but the BEST. The apartment is wonderful. It's comfortable, well appointed, with a great kitchen and utility room, both with new appliances. The wifi connection was great and the apartment was equipped with a printer which we used to print out our travel vouchers, boarding passes, and much more. It made the details of our planning so easy. The location is again, PERFECT. We didn't drive (by choice) and in making our plans we found Silver Acres to be so centrally located that we felt we could walk almost anywhere in Galway. That proved to be true. Even the grocery store was within a few blocks of the apartment. We walked, explored, and discovered the beauty and wonder of Galway at every turn. Our decision to make Galway our Irish home base instead of Dublin was so right for us. Galway and its people were warm and welcoming, The beauty of Galway is exceptional. We could easily walk to the bus, coach, and train station to connect to all of our planned 'day trips' including a train trip to Dublin to see its sights. If we could, we would give Silver Acres a 10 star rating. Our sincere thanks to Liz and her staff for making our dream trip to Ireland such a wonderful experience. From Day One, Liz and the apartment made it feel like Home, so welcoming and comfortable. It doesn't get any better.

We had a wonderful visit in Galway, renting the Silver Acres Apt for 2+ weeks. It was everything stated plus more. The apartment was very well appointed with a fully equipped kitchen. Our welcome basket was excellent - coffee, crackers, cookies, breakfast foods, indeed a welcoming basket. The location is great - a short walk to City Center and Salthill promenade. There are sidewalk cafes and restaurants around the corner, and Ernie's Grocery Store is a block away where you can purchase fresh fruit, vegetables, wine, etc. Our hostess Liz was very helpful, checking in on us to make sure all was well. This was a five star experience and we plan to stay again in the future.

My only complaint was that our travel plans did not allow us to stay longer at the Silver Acres Apartment, it was quite a dream! Cathy could not have been a better hostess, providing us with VERY helpful information on what to do and where to go as well as a fully stocked kitchen complete with breakfast and more snacks than we could eat during the time we were there. The location is perfection and the apartment itself is beautiful and spacious. I will most definitely be staying here again during my next trip to Galway City. Thank you!!!

What a pleasure to get what you 'read on the label' and more! Picking a holiday rental from the internet can be a risk when photos and text can be very partial, if not misleading, in terms of what they promise. In this case everything was better than expected. This is a great little apartment. It has an excellent location, is very comfortable, super clean and comes with loads of thoughtful extras. Cathy is a delightful host/owner, full of enthusiasm and information about her city, and with lots of excellent, informed advice on where to shop and eat. The week we spent touring the countryside and walking round the city went in a flash and it was always a pleasure to return 'home' to a comfy ,warm and stylish apartment. I have no hesitation whatsoever in highly recommending this aparmtment for a visit to this fascinating city.

As mentioned in the previous review, the apartment, welcome basket, and furnishings are wonderful! We were warmly welcomed by Liz and very comfortable in the immaculately clean and furnished apartment. The best accomodations I have ever reserved through VRBO! An easy walk into town for shopping, pubs, or dining.

This is a truly magnificent apartment. It is brand new with new appliances, new everything. It is very tastefully appointed with fully stocked kitchen accessories, lovely furniture, quality linens, spectacular marbles floors, etc. It is in walking distance to everything, including Salthill, which is a gorgeous three mile or so hike or run from Quay Street to the end of the Salthill Promenade. The number and breadth of the pantry items in the Welcome Basket are phenomenally generous: biscuits, bread, eggs, sausages, bacon, oatmeal, milk, juice--you name it. You don't have to go to the grocery on your first day in and try to manage the shopping and the foreign money (if applicable) while suffering jet lag. Across the street from the Devon Place apartment is a bird sanctuary or an aviary--I forget what it's called--but you wake to the glorious sounds of happy birds. I could go on and on about how thrilled I am about this apartment but suffice it to say you have to see it for yourself.
