In Alpa Kamaska lodge you feel like you 're visiting some dear friends. It is very comfortable with a lovely terrace fully furnished, an outdoor fireplace. You get a homemade breakfast. But the best of all is all the help you receive from your hostess. She made our trip! There was a close down of the site we planned to see. We were devastated, but Sara helped us find alternative attractions, arranged for drivers, took care of airline reservations and to top it off lent me her expensive raincoat for the entire 3 day stay. You only get this kind of service with friends.

Well it could have rained less and not have the cable cars closed and the Kuelap ruins wall collapse. But that's nature!-

We stayed here the night before going to Kuelap and throughly enjoyed ourselves. The hotel is very nice and only a 10 minute walk from the cable car. We felt right at home. Our room was comfortable and spacious with hot water. I’m working while we’re travelling so was happy to find a nice desk to work from. The WiFi was good, especially for the area, as the hotel goes the extra mile to give you the strongest connection possible. The breakfast was heavenly — one of the best we’ve had in Peru. The girl who works at the hotel was super helpful and even helped us solve a cash shortage problem (happens when you spend too far away from an ATM). The whole experience was fantastic and I’d recommend staying here. We easily could have spent another night. P.S If you’re wondering why the above sounds so good yet they don’t have any other reviews, it’s because of COVID. They used to have really good reviews and then had to close for two years due to the pandemic. Booking.com reviews expire after 3 years so they lost a lot of their past standing. We were sceptical too as we don’t normally stay somewhere without reviews. BUT this is easily the best place to stay in Tingo!
