Location, Location! Stayed off peak here in winter with family. Bang for your buck is amazing. Friendly and honest staff. Clean, tidy and comfy rooms! Great place to self-cater with plenty or BBQ’s I’m actually reluctant to leave a review as want this place ( and the island ) kept secret! 🤫

We were pleasantly surprised to find how central the apartments were to the majority of activities ie Ned's beach was an 8 minute walk, about the same in the opposite direction to the snorkel/coral/turtle tour operators at the lagoon, 5 minutes to the cocktail bar and nearby restaurant. The staff were fantastic from the airport pickup to the drop off at the end of our stay. Very friendly and helpful. All the accommodation places provided lifts to the restaurants which came in handy for those further away and the restaurants provided the return trip.

The only downside I saw but didn't experience was some apartments shared a veranda. We had to walk across the veranda to get to our room which would have been annoying for the other occupant.

The accommodation is in a great location close to everything we wanted access to (e.g. Ned's Beach, walking tracks, grocery store, museum, bike hire...). The accommodation was really neat and clean and well set up with everything we needed for self sufficiency. The cleaning staff were really friendly and nice to chat to. The exchange of towels each day was excellent given the weather was wet and it was difficult to dry out anything wet.

We found the accommodation a bit dark (had to turn on lights in day time perhaps because it was cloudy, grey and wet most days we were on LHI) and maybe this would be welcomed in hot sunny weather. The bed was not as comfortable as we are used to (perhaps personal preference) as it was a bit soft and dipped in the middle towards each other in the queen bed. We were also a little cold with the single blanket for bedding.

Close to everything

Handy location, good self catering facilities, it was within our budget. It was very well set out accommodation in a great setting. Having good free Wi-Fi was fabulous to be able to stay InTouch with our family. Would highly recommend this accommodation with guests that are not on a large budget, would defiantly stay again!

It was hard to find anything we didn't like about Somerset apartments. We were in a budget room but if anything the main seating in the living room was a little uncomfortable which was only a small thing.

The team were very efficient but generally invisible . Apart from check in, didn't see anyone. This is not an issue, just an observation.

The location is so convenient being between the lagoon and Ned’s Beach and walking distance to the town. The room was clean and comfortable and has everything you could need. We’ll be back and be recommending to our friends!

The location of this well run and beautifully located resort was an outstanding feature among many great assets.

Some people used to five-star resorts might expect more glamour, glitz and activities, but I think that would mostly be missing the point of a laid back, comfortable, private and eco-conscious holiday. ' loved the birds and the nature focus - grounds are a highlight, departure lounge/facilities a very good idea. We liked both what resort owner/management in particular, and Lord Howe Island board in general, were doing to retain and enhance the original natural enviornment - in one case turning the ecological clock back 100 years by eradicating introduced flora and fauna pests and reintroducing species extinct in the wild - well done Lord Howe. So really our impressions are all "Do Likes"

The apartment was great but you could hear noise coming from the next door neighbours walls were a bit thin. In saying that I think most of the accommodations on the island would be the same.
