The staff at the restaurant were great.

Had to change rooms due to water leaking through the roof. New roof had no water and staff were completely useless in commincation and rectifying the issue. No water with a 1 year old baby is not acceptable.

L'albergo è lontano anni luce da un 5 stelle. Tutte le zone comuni andrebbero rimodernate così come le camere. Per dare un idea del pontile rimangono solo i travi arrugginiti della struttura portante. La camera oltre ad essere vecchiotta non è molto funzionante (sciacquone del wc in particolare). Ristorante triste con scelta passabile di cibo. Staff gentile ma che non sa neppure dove puoi avere un asciugamano pulito quando sei in spiaggia e ti dice di andare a chiedere alla reception.

Local Mauritian food and passionate staff. Pool and rooms were beautiful. Denison is an assett to the hotel. Massages were exceptional.

Inconsistent offering of drinks in the bars (tap beer). Many amenities not available to use during our stay due to upgrades. Staff looking after the water sports are not managed and provide bad service. Not offering use of snorkelling equipment.

The Plantation Club and staff were amazing, made our whole trip. particular mention to Dinson, he was our go-to guy and was awesome, also big thanks to Geshan, Geraldine, Roshni and Engelique

Do not book! Lack of professionalism! They decided to close the hotel 3 days prior to our arrival without advising us due to a clean up of ligeonaires disease we drove all the way there only to be told we will be put up in a hotel close by which was not the same standards or cost! The hotel were in contact with me for those 3 days as we were discussing tours but at no point did they say our reservation was cancelled or that the hotel was closed. After ongoing back and forth they finally agreed to another hotel a further 1 hour 45 mins away as that was the only alternative to the other horrible one they suggested . We lost a full day we will never get back thanks to their lack of respect and professionalism! We were only in Mauritius for 6 nights so we planned everything and chose hotels specifically based on location and areas to see close by. The other hotel thankfully had lovely staff and made up for our awful experience. It seems they treated other customers the same way as we met 3 other couples with the same issue. Stay away!!!

The room.the jaccuzi is broken..the back door cannot be closed from outside..there were only dim light..was very difficult with my toddler specially at night to change the nappies and to feed her(the hotel was aware of her). There is a door in the bathroom which i did not appreciate. There was a tv in the room but could not use it since the remote was not working. For a 5-star hotel the room is very old and did not meet my expectation compared to a 3-star hotel with i went before. At dinner there were no mauritian dishes despite having mauritians in the hotel(there were only european and indian dishes which were served). Personally this type of hotel should be specially for tourists.

Some of the staff were very surly and extremely slow at doing anything. The room maids kept making mistakes of what we had taken from the mini bar and we had to keep correcting it at reception. The food was average for the price. We had to send back our fish as it was totally over cooked and the chips weren’t hot after waiting over 45 minutes for it to arrive. Would never stay here again.

Food, facilities and activities.

The rooms require some maintenance. Room hasn't changed since our last visit since 6 years ago ! Ocean view rooms are far from other main water activities area and the restaurants.

Good quality buffet. Generally very good staff in restaurants. Bands / singers (December) very good when compared to other resorts.

Dated accommodation , old untidy rooms/ furniture. Mediocre room cleaning. Eticate at reception desk average . However restaurant, pool , entertainment and sport facilities adequate and good.

I liked the daily vibe and the fact that you don't really need to leave the island to have a great time.

The rooms is very hot in the evening even if the aircon is on 16, so a fan portable fan should be standard in all rooms. The reception should explain half board and all inclusive better, cause we paid a lot for our first days stay cause on our side half board is different, when you have a dinner package then all the drinks with that dinner package is also free. This made a dent in our finances on the last day. Breakfast is a little blend, with nothing out of the ordinary and the bacon is heavy overcooked and chewy, so for instances for my wife that only eats eggs and bacon, she could only eat eggs because of this. For men, the findlater is not a proper whisky so therefore on a all inclusive the whisky becomes and issue cause everything is supplementary/payable. On the last day I ordered a Macallan and there was no stock, the same with when I ordered Brisket early the week and later the week they had. The towels for the swimming pool were only provided to us on the second last day and we never knew where to find it. Water is a basic need so we can't be expected to pay for extra water in the room, but at the restaurant it is free on all inclusive like it should be. The photo done with your photographer can't be so much when added on a USB, I never hear of a USB with photos on that cost so much. Also don't get me wrong money is not the issue, but I like to pay for a quality service like it should be.

definitely not a 5 star resort. the check-in process was dull, the front desk agent didn’t want to spend any of her time giving us proper layout of the resort. The property is old, dirty and completely outdated

The menus of hote'ls restaurants and bars are too expencive. Average breakfast. I'd recommed to renovate the rooms futnitures. The beach is not good for swimming because of shallow water and the wind

Me and my spouse have been to this resort 14 years ago for our honeymoon, but it was under Movenpick's management previously This time we stayed a total of 14 nights in Mauritius with our 2 kids. So there is some familiarity admist the changes, now that it's under Outrigger's management. We had generally good experiences and some not so good ones. Let me list the good ones first. 1. We stayed in an Ocean View Family Room, it was perfect for our family of 4 and could accommodate 5 pax in fact. It was just in front of the swimming pool and beach, and a short walk to the Mercado restaurant for the buffet breakfasts and dinners. But be aware that there is no door for the shower area, just curtains partitioning the room from the bathtub, toilet and shower areas. 2. Reception staff are friendly, helpful and polite in general. Special mention to Jarvin, Megha, Nitish, Arvesh, Anoop, Darshini and Ravin! The have definitely made our stay more pleasant! 3. Housekeeping is prompt, rooms are tidied everyday. The environment is clean in general. 4. Beach is beautiful. Feels "private" within the entire resort (though sharing with another resort beside us on the right, but the beach on the left stetches for a few km without any housing or resorts). 5. Buffet dinner is served with a variation rotated daily every 7 days at the Mercado restaurant.

The not so good... 1. We had some unforeseen circumstances due to weather change just 2 days notice prior to landing in Mauritius for a live aboard fishing trip after landing in Mauritius. We needed to cancel 1 day but come back to resort a day earlier after our fishing trip (the total number of days at the resort remains unchanged). We appealed for the reservation team's consideration to refund our stay for the night that we could not stay as we had to bring forward our fishing trip, a day earlier, due to safety reasons as we had children with us. We explained our situation that we required the change in the date, willing to top up the difference in the rates due to change of date at last minute notice. However, Outrigger Mauritius and the booking platform rejected our appeals, stating our booking only allowed cancellation 3 days before arrival. Hence, I feel there is no empathy and flexibility from the resort and the booking platform since we only received news of the change in weather (from the fishing trip operator), 2 days prior to our departure for our Mauritius vacation. And it was difficult to find someone who is in charge (from both the resort and booking platform) to talk to us directly. We had to ask around for help and information during the length of our stay. 2. There was a slight unpleasant smell coming from some pillows. I think it would be good for housekeeping to sun them to get rid of the smell. 3. Breakfast buffet selection is the same daily could have more variety.  (Especially for guests staying for more than a week. We stayed a total of 10 nights at resort.) Overall,  we enjoyed our stay at the resort despite the hiccup with the date change being rejected. We were happy to be back!

First of all, I want to thank the resort for hiring great staff such as "Megha and Jarvin" Megha has the nicest smile and welcoming, she helped me a lot and made me feel at home, I'm sure I'll be coming back specially for her. As for Jarvin, he helped me arrange my activities outside the resort, he helped getting me a great taxi driver, who became a friend as well, sorry Jarvin if I gave you hard times with my late requests. Thank you everyone at Outrigger, you made my week really memorable, looking forward to visit again!
