Only stayed the one night but loved Church View House. Sally the proprietor is a great host and made me feel most welcome. My double room was very comfortable and spacious, breakfast the following morning was delicious. The location is very scenic and I would imagine if you are a walker that it is a great base to use to discover the North Devon countryside. The local pub, literally across the road, is unfortunately closed at the moment, but hopefully that will change as the local community are in the process of buying it- wishing them every success.

Right in the middle of Drewsteignton. Charming village, fortunately protected from visiting coach parties by a maze of narrow lanes. Interior of village pub is pretty much unchanged since the early 20th century. Handy for Castle Drogo. Wonderful walks for the energetic, try the loop out to Castle Drogo, then along the Teign to Fingle Bridge, and back. Host (Sally) is friendly and knowledgeable. Good choice of breakfast.

Room only just big enough for two. Bathroom shared with host. To be fair, the price reflects this. Wifi works as well as can be expected in a village with no broadband.

Sally is a wonderful host and great company, kindly showed us around and cooked a delicious full English breakfast in the mornings.

Our hosts were welcoming and friendly. Coffee and tea in the room with milk, water and biscuits. Sally even made me some fresh gluten free bread. Amazing hosts.

The only less than perfect thing was sharing the bathroom with the hosts, but it wasn't what you would call a hardship. They were gracious and friendly.

Great location right in the middle of the village opposite the Church, the Drewe Arms pub and the village Post office. Our room is bright and airy. We enjoyed full English breakfast and a super delicious Italian dinner. Drewsteignton is a great place to stay to explore north Dartmoor - there are so many interesting sights and nice walks around the area. Thanks Sally for the recommendation and for lending us the booklet. We enjoyed our 3 nights stay very much and hope we will be back again soon.

We stayed overnight on our way to Cornwall, Nicola cooked us a lovely Italian meal with wine and coffee with sambuca to finish it was very reasonable at £15. Both he and Sally were great company and attentive hosts, we spent a pleasant evening eating and chatting. We will be returning if ever we are in Devon.

We enjoyed our stay, it was easy to find even though the room is on the main route thro the village it was very quiet.

I would have preferred an en suite bathroom but I did know about the shared bathroom before booking.

Right in the centre of this timeless village, easy parking. The bedroom was comfortable and we had all that we needed. Shared bathroom was ok.
