Great location, not my first time here so we knew where to go. We didnt get to try out the restaurant but heard amazing things about it. The breakfast was so good, coffee from an actual machine so it was super tasty, everyone was very accommodating! Room was spacious and clean with comfy beds. Thanks and see you soon

We loved everything about the Residence Gold Istra - the staff were so welcoming and could not have been more helpful and friendly . The room was clean and comfortable. The location in the hills was lovely. It is a pension and exactly that- nothing fancy but it does what it promises, excellently. The restaurant was stunning- we love truffles and wow, it did not disappoint. Superb food and great value (we are used to very high prices for truffles in the UK .) We ate there every night of our stay - ( note - It is only only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday) . The Gold Istra also has a fabulous truffle room and sellsthe most wonderful truffle products- again at excellent prices . We shall definitely be back.
The only slightly disappointing thing was that they don’t read messages sent via the Booking.com app - as they get so many but it did mean that our attempt to try and book a truffle hunting trip in advance , was unsuccessful. Suggest you contact them direct to avoid same fate

One of the best place I have ever been and absolutely the best during our 2 week trip. We stayed there for 3 days, but would like to stay much longer, because it was fantastic.
Food is outstanding !!! Personel is so great, that after first day you can feel like with friends :) Amazing view form the garden/chill zone on the back of the building - you just have to see it! :)

The residence is located in a great place with fantastic views, it is peaceful there, trees, bushes and flowers around are very beautiful, the staff is kind and friendly. The room exceeded our expectations, was very clean and provance stylish. Excellent pillows and blankets.

Room was very spacious, good quality of furniture and comfortable beds. Aircon was working good. Fridge and kettle in the room. Bedsidetable lights. Booklet done by the team which lays on the table with suggestions in the area in really valuable. The location is surrounded by olive trees, sound of nature and stars in the night. It's a good location to move with car around the full Istria region although in August there is a lot of traffic jump due to the crossing to and from Croatia. Breakfast was very good and I enjoyed it at the covered terrace. Wifi was working good. Staff was friendly and giving some options for restaurants.

All in all, a great location for spending time in Portoroz and Piran. The hills around offer a superb, scenery, from dawn to sunset. The food and drinks were excellent.

We spent 10 days in Slovenia and sadly only 1 night here yet it has been a highlight of the trip for us.
The restaurant was fantastic, breakfast was wonderful.
the family room we stayed in was spacious and comfortable for all of us.
The location might not be ideal for everyone as it is in only a very small town but it was fine for our needs.

The hotel is located in a calm place with a beautiful view over the hills and olive trees.
The breakfast is great, with plenty of choice.
Hygiene: the toilet did not look clean, with stains on the toilet seat. And there was a strong urine odour.
Our main reason to book this hotel was the restaurant, which everyone praises. But it was closed the first two evenings of our three night stay: it's closed all Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Restaurants in nearby villages were also closed (3 of the 4 restaurants the receptionist recommended to us as an alternative turned out to be closed...). It means that on Tuesdays and Wednesdays you have to drive quite far to find a place to eat. Perhaps the owners can consider offering discounts for the inconvenience on days the restaurant is closed, because honestly it's not worth the high price on these days.

The accommodation and its location have enriched us with an unforgettable holiday. Both the suite and the staff were excellent! There were no questions unanswered by the staff, they recommended family friendly places to visit, helped us in every way. The location is truly quaint, we loved the hilly slopes. We spent a marvellous week there.
We haven't faced any unexpected nuisances. The location - that I praised before - might cause some challanges for those that do not plan their holiday. From here one has to use their car to reach a destination. But this should not be a problem.

Our family really liked everything. “Wine” room is excellent, the breakfast is perfect, the dinner in the restaurant unique. We look forward to visiting next year!!! and of course the working people, they are amazing!!!

The location is fabulous for quiet retreat and for discovering istrian small villages. I liked the breakfast.
The rooms are not soundproof and the noise (when there is some) can be heard inside the rooms.
