The pictures do not do this place justice. It truly felt like a fairytale from the drive into the property, waking up to horses in your backyard, and the feel of a sea breeze. The home was fully stocked with everything we could need as a group of 8! The host was lovely and responsive throughout our stay. Thank you again for sharing your home with us!

We are fifteen aged from 72 to 3 between four families. We try to get this group together annually and this year was to be special. We knew from our first viewing of the Boathouse that it checked all of our boxes. Location, space, arrangement of space, tranquil setting, and amenities met all of our needs and expectations. Our hosts were responsive to all of our questions and needs, prior to arrival and during our stay. The Boathouse was key to making this family gathering as special as we hoped it would be. We had two families- each with 3 kids, ranging from 7-13y. INCREDIBLE view, clean, ample space and responsive owners! They were so kind to us upon arrival, even being late getting in. There is the coolest bar area/TV room upstairs where we spent our evening gazing at the Shannon River and boats or on the other side, the beautiful horses. We were able to open windows for an amazing breeze. The kitchen was completely stocked with whatever one could possibly need. The hot tub was loved by all! The bedrooms were spacious and an excess of bathrooms for our crew! Linens and towels were provided. The water was very hot (which I’m sure could have been changed, but just be careful with little kiddos taking a shower! This is an absolutely beautiful house that I hope we get to visit again. The gardens, the view, the house itself. It’s not too far from Kilrush and Kilkee. Gave us an amazing jumping point to travel to the Burren, Aran Islands, Cliffs of Moher, Cliffs of Kilkee (wowwww), Scattery Island, Dingle Peninsula, and way more!! Pubs are close in town, and one of our favorites was where you turn off to come to the Boathouse (Keane’s). You will NOT be disappointed!!!

The beauty of the surroundings, the grounds and the house is stunning! 3 generations of my family gathered for a reunion at this house. I brought my children to Ireland 23 years ago and did touristy things. This time my children gathered with spouses and children of their own. We had a wonderful time at the house. The children looked forward to time in the hot tub each evening. We had cocktails and mocktails in the upstairs bar. We had a birthday party in the dining room. We visited the horses. We kayaked on the estuary. We cooked so many meals. We spent most of our time on the peninsula - visiting the lighthouse. the cliff walk at Kilkee, the Bridges of Ross and walking alpacas. The Cliffs of Moher, Doolin and the Burren are just over an hour away, so that was a delightful short trip. Individual families traveled overnight to Connemara and Galway City, Dingle and Dublin. But it was the house and the yard and the estuary that fed our hearts and souls.

First, we had to push back our arrival because of sickness. Michelle was very patient as I updated her daily with 'yes we are headed down tomorrow', then the next morning...'so sorry, we arent able to drive today'. I was driving myself crazy, but Michelle was wonderful, understanding and patient. When we finally arrived, it was everything I had dreamt it would be. We all fell in love with the house, its proximity to the water, the location, everything. It couldnt have been more perfect for us. Because we were all sick, the hot tub was icing on the cake. We had a problem the first night with the heat in the hot tub and Robert came the next morning and fixed everything. We thouroghly enjoyed our time there and will return to this home, if possible, in the future. Thank you, Michelle and Robert for everything.

The Boathouse was the perfect vacation home for our multi-generational family (ages 2 thru 75.) Michelle and Robert were wonderful hosts providing us with a delicious hot lunch and baked scones and brown bread upon our arrival. The 7 bedrooms and 6 bath house were perfect for our 15 member family. The kitchen was fully stocked and the outdoor living space provided us with additional room to spread out. The kayaks gave us an excellent opportunity to explore the Shannon Estuary and the hot tub was a great way to relax sore muscles after long hours of exploring the Wild Atlantic Way. We highly recommend the Boathouse to any family wishing to Explore the beautiful West coast of Ireland.

Really enjoyed our stay, Michelle was always available for any queries. The house is fantastic, especially the bar / tv room. A really quiet location and great for a peaceful relaxing holiday, whilst enjoying the Guiness!!
