Beautiful old grand home converted to a hotel with two floors of rooms above the public area including bar, spacious but cozy sitting room and restaurant. Nice breakfast, (didn’t try dinner) friendly staff. Not in the town of Fort Augustus proper, but we walked to a restaurant by the locks, about a mile away. They accommodated our request for some rooms to have 2 separate single beds.
Bathroom was quite small. We were hoping to see Highland cows , as shown on website photos, but they are no longer in the pasture there (July 2024)

The hotel from the outside was absolutely stunning. Old fashioned decor and I liked how the room names were called after different lochs in Scotland. It was a 20 minute walk to Fort Augutus so location was handy and it had nice views.
They were able to keep my bike in a locked shed.
The breakfast was included, I think they were stingy with the portions.
The shower. There was very poor water pressure and any adjustments to the temperature it would end up either scalding or freezing.
The prices, the bar for a can of Irn Bru they were asking £3 and a pint was £6.50 I swiftly told them to keep the glass clean as that was too expensive for me.

Great location across from Loch Ness right outside Fort Augustus. I was disappointed with the service at the hotel, with the exception of Saskia, who did her best to make sure we had what we needed even when the housekeeping staff didn’t provide enough towels/tooletries. In the new room the bed was ok.
Overall I was disappointed with the service at the hotel, with the exception of Saskia, who did her best to make sure we had what we needed even when the housekeeping staff didn’t provide enough towels/tooletries. We booked a superior room and the first room we were given was up two flights of stairs at the far end of the hall and was clearly run down. In fact, a lot of the common areas could stand to be updated as well. When I complained we were moved to another room on a lower floor which was much nicer…but why was the first room offered to begin with? In the new room the bed was ok, but the toiletries were half empty and there was no soap at the sink. The tub shower had a plastic guard that only came 1/2 way across the tub, so when the shower was run it soaked the floor. There were no surfaces on which to put toiletries or personal items and nowhere to put luggage. Poorly designed room, but still better than the first one we were offered. Poor value for money.

from the moment we got there the staff couldn’t do enough. we really didn’t fancy a full meal so asked if they would do sandwiches and some chips and they did it absolutely no problem. The lady on reception was lovely and helpful and Saskia was lovely and helpful when we got stuck with our game of scrabble😂😂😂😂

Great location set in lovely grounds. A few mins drive or a 20 minute walk to the centre.
Blind in room cheap and broken and no curtains. No socket near the mirror and electric extension leads placed on both bedside cabinets was very unsightly.

Great location overlooking Loch Ness and with the Great Glen Way at the back of the hotel was excellent for walking the dog. Staff very welcoming, especially kind and accommodating with our travelling with a dog.
Nothing.

Lovely large room with a comfortable bed.

The location just excellent, over looks Loch Ness,
This place is a old lodge house with loads of Scottish character
Sorry only thing we didn't like was the food we thought was very overpriced, £10 for a starter which wasn't great, you expect to pay in a Michelin star restaurant, the food wasn't Michelin star. Finding somewhere to eat in Fort Augustus, which was cheaper
We only had one evening meal.

Great location with beautiful view of Loch Ness! The hotel has tons of charm and we liked the extra room for the children.
Unfortunately the Wi-Fi didn’t work, the soap from the previous occupants was still in the shower and the bathroom door could really use some oil. We also had trouble tracking down staff in the morning to check out.

Breakfast was absolutely delicious. We had dinner and it was nice, but was slightly shocked that we managed to spend £140 by the end of the meal. Booked a family room which had two joined up rooms - one with two twin beds and one with a king bed. Hotel looked like it could use some investment in terms of decor etc but the staff were lively and helpful.
Was a bit more spendy than we wished, but was also in August and everything else was sold out!

Excellent location, large room with a very comfortable bed. Friendly staff and excellent food.
A little overpriced. Breakfast was an additional £15 and although the food was excellent, the dinner menu was rather expensive.

The location was fantastic and the staff welcoming and it was comfortable. We had dinner and the meal was OK slightly over seasoned but nothing to complain about as the beef I had was cooked to perfection. The room was bigger than any modern hotel and the bed was massive!
There was nothing to dislike, it's an old building with character.

Hotel staff welcomed my family so warmly. Offered to assist with luggage and made sure our stay was to our expectation. The view was nice from every window peaking at Loch Ness and my kids loved the hunting decor.
