Gladstone Hotel is set in Fairlie, 30 km from Lake Tekapo and 47 km from Timaru. There is an on-site restaurant. You will find a shared lounge at the property. No Bike hire available anymore due to the company closing through Covid 19 pandemic.

A great pub stay. Cold beer. Great meal. I’ll be back.

good location, really enjoyed the DJ music, had a great meal and the dancing then left the young ones to it, went upstairs and had a quiet nights sleep.

Like stepping back 40 years. Beds were comfortable and our host was lovely and helpful.
The place needs an injection of money but it's cool to see it in it's original state.

Clean room, clean facilities, and plenty of breakfast items provided. Loved the rustic feel of the place! Also fantastic to have access to tea and coffee at all times.
Toilet floor was a bit wet and the toilets themselves weren't perfectly clean, but there were a lot of people staying that weekend (incl kids).

Its history … so the stairs creak and the floor is uneven. This pub was built 150 years ago! Sharing breakfast with 15 random strangers was fun.

It’s nice hotel in a small town , just 30 minutes driving to lake Tekapo. Also have a local bar, so easy to come and drink with local people.

Friendly staff,very accommodating.(No pun intended)
Though the character hotel was dated,the bed was comfy and the room warm.And to top that off a free,light breakfast to start your day off!

Basic, but adequate breakfast provided, in a 'help yourself' situation; was OK and suited me fine.

Hotel is dated, but nice and clean and cheap, tasty eve meals.

Showers need to be upgraded...OK tho' for an overnight stay. Pressure was good (there's even a bath in the communal shower room!

This was very disappointing property. Looked nothing like the photos online.
We actually walked out without staying.
Staff never acknowledged we were even there.
Would never recommend this place.

Breakfast was a classic kiwi breaky. Karen amd callum where very helpful and hospitable....

Definitely coming back with the whanau and the bed was so comfortable.

The place was clean and despite its age, the management seemed serious in trying to provide a reasonable place to stay.
However it wasn't good value as compared to a hotel like Wiapiata.
The Booking.com photos are a little misleading and I had expectations of a slightly more classy place.
So Ok but not a preferred option if something else local available.
