Excellent location for accessing South Beach's ocean and nightlife. The baths and kitchen are clean and well laid out, and the washer/dryer, refrigerator, and stove work well. However, if you plan to spend any time in the place, be advised that (1) the fabulous view is marred by the dirtiest windows ever; (2) the "sofas" are low, soft mattresses from which one does not arise without either assistance or notable skill in gymnastics; (3) the floor is dirty, as your bare feet will quickly betray; (4) the wifi is a patchwork of two other apartments' systems and is spotty in the bedrooms; (5) we only checked 2 of the 4 TVs, but one bedroom TV presented the Roku start screen--unresponsive--and would do no more, while the living area TV would only show live programming (no Roku); (6) the frying pan was in such bad shape (detached handle, abraded surface) that we cooked eggs in a pasta pot; (7) the towels were stained, faded, dirty, and no hand towels were provided; (8) the sheets and bed cover/blanket were very poor quality; (9) the mattresses and pillows all needed replacing; and (10) the curtains (sheers and blackouts) were horrifyingly dirty and dragged dust/dirt along the floor. I'm not sure how these things match with the "all new" headline in the VRBO listing. Finally, the furniture layout ignored the ocean view--the dining table was against a wall when it should have been positioned so that all could enjoy the view while breakfasting (so we shifted it, then shifted it back when we left), and the "sofas" faced each other instead of the view (a quick shift into an L-shape corrected that, but again, we returned the original layout). Overall, an expensive, uncomfortable experience.

There were 2 contacts, first Lucinda (owner?), then there was Helena (the property manager?). When I called Helena she needed to know the apartment number in order to do anything. She could not look me up by my name or anything else. I did not feel like I was a very welcome guest. She waited the 10-15 minutes while I went through several emails from Vrbo to finally find the apartment number. It was really inconvenient. Then when I got there, the toiletries and towels were very scarce. I would have to request more from her as needed. The toiletries themselves were of very poor quality. The shower pressure was awful. Once I was settled in, Helena was very responsive and accommodated my needs promptly. The space had a mold/mildew smell, and Helena immediately helped me try and solve that by getting a scented device. The space is visually very cool and fun to be in. The location is perfect. You couldn't ask for a better location. However, we are directly above an outdoor restaurant that gets loud on weekend nights. Earplugs are recommended. The living room is comfortable. My bed was very comfortable.
