There was no naming dishes only cookie sheets and no crock pot either. The 2 couch beds downstairs mattresses were very uncomfortable. They need to invest in better mattresses for their guests.

The location is gorgeous. It's a treat to watch the ocean and the sunset from the top level of the house or from the porch. The house is clean and in good condition, with beautiful kitchen and good furnishings. The towel folding art was impressive. As minor suggestions for improvement, having the windows washed would improve the enjoyment of the view, and including a starter amount of shampoo and cooking oil would save a 30m drive to Safeway for people who didn't read the welcome emails closely enough or forgot to pack them.

Just a few minutes drive to Mendocino one way and beaches the other. Restaurants and grocery stores are easily accessible. As for the home -- so comfortable and spacious! Beds/family room couch, upstairs recliners all great. The house was clean from top to bottom. Just a note, there is a bit of a smoky fireplace smell especially downstairs in the large suite. But once you're there, you really don't notice.The kitchen has all that you'd need. We always bring our favorite oils/spices/knives and some non-stick pans but the kitchen is so well stocked you won't need to bring any of it.Overall, an amazing stay in an amazing home!!The view from the property is really something. From one side of the house, it's all ocean and the other side, the beautiful forest.This is by far one of the best rentals we've stayed in and I would highly recommend it to anyone!

The house is spacious and well equipped and it was great for an extended getaway over the holidays (we were a group of three families). Amazing views of the ocean from inside and outside, and close to Van Damme State Park and the town of Mendocino. Even though it was pretty rainy, we made lots of use of the hot tub and grill, which were great. The hosts were communicative and the check-in and check-out process were easy. Definitely recommended!

Absolutely gorgeous property - the pictures don’t do it justice, especially the panoramic view of the ocean. Perfectly arranged for a family group to have their own spaces for sleeping and privacy but also communal spaces to spend time together. Location was fantastic too. A short drive to Mendocino and many parks and hiking trails, but a feeling of privacy and seclusion on the property itself. The property manager was great; couldn’t have been easier. We were also impressed by how well-stocked the kitchen was.

There were a handful of houses nearby but they were either empty or no one bothered anyone. It was like our own private oasis. The whole time we were there, we only saw maintenance workers working on a house not far from us. The house is huge with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bath. We used only 2 bedrooms (which cost a little less). The kids loved the foosball table up on the second floor. But it seems like that area was not cleaned very often as there were quite a few dead flies by the windowsill. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans and a full rack of spices, and coffee. The only down side was ants in the kitchen. Everything needed to be put away in the fridge. The dining table can fit 8 and we had breakfast and dinners there often with a few of the ocean. The master bedroom and basement bedroom were spacious. The bathrooms were clean and had all the basic needs, not luxurious but suited our needs. Loved the chocolates and they provided treats for our dog plus bowls and bags which was very nice. We loved the wrap around porch with gates. It was perfect for our dog to dry up and shake out the sand before letting him back into the house. The hot tub was great but wished it was on the other side of the house with the ocean view. But it was a great way to relax and end our day. Overall, we would stay there again.

The lower level was a bit musty smelling, and if the wind is blowing, DON'T light the fireplace upstairs on the main floor. The chimney flu was designed incorrectly, and smoke will drift inside the lowest level bedroom. The main floor was just fine - nice kitchen, dining and living room. The master bath has the only shower on this floor - so share with whoever sleeps in 2nd bedroom on this floor. The deck all around the outside is nice. The large area of the deck for table and BBQ is not on the ocean side of the house - which is fine, as the house blocks the wind off the ocean. DO be careful of trash - we had a bear on the last night destroy the garbage locker - which was securely fastened. So don't leave food in your car or ice chests on porch. Ice chests store just fine inside foyer. It was very quiet, with partial view of ocean. Overall lovely, but I'd not put 10 people in this place. 4 was plenty, especially since the one person downstairs had to sleep on top floor in recliner chair, as it was too smoky the first night, or too musty for her the other nights.

Make sure you secure the garbage cans though, or the raccoons, or whatever animals are out at night, will tear up the garbage cans to get to your garbage!
