I always love staying at a canal house! Rain or shine! Always great! The owners were right on top of everything and we had an absolutely wonderful experience. Me, my daughter, her best friend, and best friend mom stayed at the shell shack. We had a fabulous time. The house was described to the tee. We had all that we needed. Thank you for letting us relax, re energize and make memories in your beautiful home.

I wish I could give this property a 5 but I’m giving an overall rating of 4 because of the electrical issue it has. Many of the lights in the house would dim and get brighter off and on and at times just turn off completely on their own. In the bunk room, the fan/light would turn off and on by itself. The light came on multiple times at night while we were sleeping. I would suggest not using the fan at night in that room to avoid this. We also had an issue with the thermostat. The A/C seemed to work great but the thermostat kept getting disconnected or something so we could change the temp. The owners were great with scheduling an HVAC tech to make sure there wasn’t a problem with the unit. The positives of this place: It was spotless when we arrived! Has to be the cleanest rental we’ve stayed in in a long time. I was impressed. The golf cart worked great for our stay but we only drove around the neighborhood or down to the park, not to the beach. Having the house fully stocked was a huge plus. The checkout list is super short. I felt like I was doing something wrong by not having a huge list of duties to do before heading out. And, of course, the location was superb. Corner canal lot was beautiful and it was fun to sit out and watch the waterway “traffic.” We also saw lots of fish while we were there. We really enjoyed our stay in Jamaica Beach. The property came furnished with all of the amenities to have a great time. Our kids really enjoyed golf cart rides to the beach, canoeing, boogie boards and the fish light was really cool. Loved that this property was on a corner as well. Thank you for sharing your home with us! Fun memories were made.

Great property! The house was perfect for a small family. The nearby beach was not crowded like the ones closer to town, and really clean. We loved all the extras like the paddle boards and fishing gear. The gold cart did not work the entire time, but the host was super responsive and had it fixed right away. We would definitely stay here again.

Lovely location for fishing off the deck as it’s right on the water! My young son thoroughly enjoyed turning the green light on to watch all the fish swim around while we fished. The house itself has plenty of water toys/kayaks to offer for guests which I thought was nice. The reason for four stars instead of 5, is that the golf cart (which was one of the main reasons we wanted to book this rental) wasn’t working properly. We were told the day of check in that it was on it last leg and to be sure it stayed charged when not in use. Sure enough, during our first ride, it broke down on the other side of the neighborhood. Luckily, we were able to revive it long enough to make it back to the house, but decided against trying it again. Overall, it was a nice place to stay and the owners were very kind and responsive. I would recommend it especially if you enjoy fishing!

Everything about the house was better than expected, communication with the hosts quickly and friendly, over-equipped, nice and comfortable, we will definitely return!

The owners are very responsive, and the house is very well equipped for all outdoor activities (beach, fishing, kayaks, SUP). The only reason I gave a 4 and not a 5 was due to the golf cart not working for half our stay. It was the main reason we chose this property, so that was a bummer. But everything else was good.

Loved this pretty and comfortable house on the water! I liked being on the bayside and golf carting across to the beach. Jamaica Beach is a clean and friendly village. We enjoyed all of it mucho!

Great location with canal on two sides. The living area had so many windows making it easy to watch pelicans and sea gulls flying past. Everything you need for a wonderful vacation is provided. Especially loved having a golf cart to run to the beach keeping the car sand free. The host was super responsive. Can't wait to come back!!

The owners of the property obviously take pride in the home! It has everything that you could possibly need for an amazing get away. Lina was very responsive leading up to the trip and made things very clear and easy. We had a great time sitting out on the deck and enjoying being on the water. Great location and house!! The house was all as described. Nice and clean. The golf cart was a nice bonus. The water at the beach was still on the cold side but was refreshing. Watching the trout in the lights was fun at night. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a great experience at this property. Fishing from the dock was the highlight for our children. The owners were extremely accessible and always responded in a timely manner. I highly recommend!

We midwestern seniors thoroughly enjoyed our 8 day stay at the The Shell Shack on Jamaica Beach. Very accommodating for two people, all the conveniences of home. The perk of the use of the golf cart was the deal breaker. Thank you! Our mornings on the sun deck watching the canal traffic and listening to the shore birds; close to the beach; watching the sunset, friendly neighbors; AND great weather = paradise. Highly recommend!

Dennis and Lina were amazing hosts. They responded promptly to all communication. This little house is perfect for a small family. There are so many things for the kids/teens to do. Everything was provided, so it made it simple for this last minute trip and not having to worry about packing so much. There were plenty of chairs, beach items, and fishing and crab tackle. We will be returning in the future!

We throughly enjoyed our stay! Everything is as listed. We enjoyed kayaking the canal and taking the golf cart to the beach. (We did have a problem with the golf cart, but once we called the owners, they had someone come pick it up and bring us a replacement ☺️) The owners were a joy to work with. They responded quickly to any communication we had. We ate most of our meals at the rental, and the kitchen was full of all we needed. All in all, it was a wonderful time and we left refreshed for the new year! I highly recommend for couples and families with 2-3 kids.

House was exactly as posted. Everything you can think of is supplied except food of course, the boys loved the fishing supplies and paddle boards!!!

We all enjoyed your place. It was thoughtfully decorated and very clean. I had no issues with my allergies. We're glad you did not allow any pets. It was as nice as we thought it would be. It had all the accommodations that we needed. A plus that we did not have to bring anything extra. You really did have everything thoughtfully provided. We will be sure to recommend your place for anyone looking for a getaway down in Galveston.

The house was emaculent! The bed was comfortable and so much nicer than staying in a hotel. We were able to enjoy privacy, beautiful sunsets and many trips to the beach! The hosts were so easy to keep in touch with and answered all of our questions promptly. I would highly recommend this property for couples or a family vacation! We made beautiful memories there!

This house is perfect for all ages. It truly has everything and more that you could need. It is the perfect location for all the things! I stayed here with my family of 4 (husband, myself, 3 year old, and 9 month old) and we had the best time. We fished right off the lower deck (they had everything we needed). I took my 3 year old on the kayak and paddle board and she loved it! (They had all sizes of life vests) every day we took the golf card to and from the beach (a 5 minute ride) which was perfect accommodations for our family. My husband and I sat on the deck for the sun rise and sun set every evening. The fish are all over the waters by the house and it was fun for the whole family to enjoy. There is a free park in the community there and my daughter enjoyed playing on it every morning. It’s just a short walk or 2 minute golf cart ride. The house itself was very clean and a nice size. It was decorated so cute and beach. The WiFi was excellent. The temperature of the house was great. No issues. Plenty of room for us. The beaches were beautiful and clean and never very crowded. I highly recommend this place and will be back another time soon!
