Great location. I loved that it was close to piers and strip.
It was very well kept and clean.
The place is beautiful.
Staff were great. I made a mistake with my reservation and they helped me resolve it.
It had no AC. But asked for a fan.
Worked but wouldn't stand on itself.

Got food poisoning from the hotel restaurant.
No hot water in the shower, and wasn’t fixed when mentioned to staff multiple times.
Price was different from online to when I paid at the hotel and was ridiculously expensive for the amenities and quality of stay. And no lake view from the ‘lake view’ hotel room because there’s a big fence up.

Hotel Posada de Don Rodrigo is in a prime spot in Panajachel. It is next to the lake and many of the main attractions of Panajachel. It is also right next to Panajachel's main ferry/boat port. If you have kids, they have an excellent play area, including trampolines and playsets. The pool also includes a water slide (tobagán).
The food and drinks are overpriced, like most hotels, but it wasn't that great. I recommend venturing out for food. Also, the rooms are not fancy at all. It has more of a cabin feel than a luxury-hotel feel.

Great location close to lake Atitlán, which makes it an ideal base to explore the villages around the lake.
For credit card settlement, the hotel rate (quoted in USD) is converted into GTQ. However, this is not done at the official exchange rate, but rather at a "hotel rate" which results in a 5 % difference to the disadvantage of the traveler. This resulted in a 30 minute discussion with hotel management to ensure that the "official" exchange rate from booking.com was accepted.

It has a very good location in the town. And the facilities are great, specially the sauna and the water slide in the pool.
The water slide was not operated consistently, and the pool towel service was a bit cumbersome and delayed.

The food was delicious
The WiFi was poor unable to communicate without dropping off. Room location not ideal had to travel up and downstairs with luggage. Room key difficult to open door.
