Layout of the house was perfect for our group with plenty of room for us all to relax. Loved that we were only steps from the beach!

We spent 4 nights at the Salty Dog recently and had a wonderful time. The house is even nicer inside than the photos show. A very comfortable living area, comfortable beds in the bedrooms, good showers, well equipped kitchen, everything looks either new or recently updated. There are a lot of boogie boards and beach toys below the house for guests, and they also provide beach towels, which is nice. We liked being west of Jamaica Beach. It’s a quiet area, not near as busy and crowded as Galveston, just a nice area with clean beaches. If you need a 4 bedroom house right on the beach, this is it! We highly recommend it and will definitely come again!

The house and location are wonderful. Right on the beach just like the listing says. We had a great time!! But the most praise goes to James, the property manager! He was extremely helpful and communicative!! He even went out of his way to get our forgotten stuffed animal, who is very loved, back to us in time for Christmas. Thank you for everything!!!

What a beautiful view with the ocean; easy to find. We appreciated the paper products (paper towels, toilet paper.) The kitchen was equipped pretty well; pots and pans and utensils were a little slim. Could use more for large meals. Only one dish towel and kitchen washrag was provided. The dryer wasn't drying but the property manager was prompt to fix it. The bunk beds were very sturdy (you couldn't feel the person above/below you.) Some of the pillows didn't have pillow cases on them. The pictures of the inside of the home make it look much bigger than it is. Overall a Great stay! I would definitely recommend it.

The property was as advertised. The house was clean and no complaints. Most VRBOs that I have stayed at have some standard toiletries like shampoo and body wash; be prepared to bring your own.

Our party of 12 (two families with kids ages one to 12) enjoyed our time at the beach while staying at this property. It is right on the beach. There was no crowd and plenty of nice sand to play in. The house came with plenty of sand toys, boogie boards, and beach chairs. The house was clean, the beds comfortable, and the showers hot. The kitchen was adequately stocked, though we would have liked a larger pot and some additional kid-friendly (plastic) dishes. Both the master and the other non-bunk room accommodated pack n plays. The kids enjoyed the two bunk rooms. We would recommend the property.

Great stay, enjoyed our family time on the beach. There is no concrete or deck so make sure you are aware of this. The house was spacious and beautiful!

The Salty Dog provided just the quiet, healing, nurturing vacation I needed! Lovely home, very clean, very comfortable, modern kitchen and baths, great WIFI, a wonderful gulf-front location, and the property manager, James, is second to none! I can't wait to return!

This is a great home just steps from the beach. We had family in from Pittsburgh and they absolutely loved we were directly on the beach. The owner was quick to answer questions. We would be happy to rent this home again.

Loved this Beach House. It was clean & neat & open. Loved that it was beach front! The patio was nice and in the shade and could sit there and watch sunrise and set. It was a great place for friends to gather for an extended weekend.

This is a great house, well stocked with essentials, clean, cozy and welcoming! You can’t beat the location, right on the beach!!! Just what we were looking for. The communication from the property manager was excellent and he was extremely response! Can’t wait to go back!

The property is managed very well. Great communication, timely and helpful. Management company was very quick to responds to our questions before and during our visits. We enjoyed our visit very much.

Excellent vacation home for our family of 6. Everyone enjoyed the tv’s in each room, beautiful decor, proximity to the powder sand beach and kitchen complete with everything a family needs to cook and eat in. Host was informative and accessible.

Beach vacation made super easy for my family. My husband & I took our 2 and 3 year old to Galveston for their first beach trip. Being so close to the beach was the best! Plenty of room for everyone. Beds were comfy and sand toys were provided. The kitchen was stocked with all the cooking supplies needed. Our visit was following some rain in the area, bring your bug spray.

Great house and good time. The beach was a bit of a let down. There was a ton of seaweed which made it challenging for my kids. Not sure what can be done about that, but we will keep that in mind going forward.

We had the best stay at the Salty Dog. The house is in a great location just steps from the beach. We would definitely stay here again.

We loved having a couple of days of peace and quiet steps from the ocean. The home was spotless and so comfortable. We got to experience a storm one night of our stay and the thunder outside made it feel even more cozy. The bed was great, appliances were new, and all the finishes felt so elevated. Can't wait to return.

Beautiful new home. Had everything we needed for a great weekend in Galveston. Rental company made everything very easy from start to finish!

We had a great time. House is accurately described in listing. Loved the decor - I felt like I was at my own personal beach house. At other VRBO's we've rented, it feels like we are staying in someone else's place and doesn't feel personal. We loved the living room: cozy couches, eye level big TV, plenty of seating. Linens felt new and plush - plenty of beach towels that felt updated. Kitchen had all the supplies we needed and everything felt new or updated. Very much appreciate that there were extra garbage bags and paper towels and coffee filters. Refrigerator was big. Rooms had good AC, event the upstairs. There were 11 of us - everyone said their beds were comfortable enough. The only downfalls are that there are only 2 bathrooms that are not too big (but most of the rentals in West Galveston that have 3-4 bedrooms only have 2 bathrooms), and the barbecue pit is downstairs on the sand, so barbecuing was very windy and sandy. It was hard to get the coals lit. It is absolutely fabulous to have very few steps to walk to the beach, not even having to deal with a boardwalk or any cars parked in front of the house. That was a really big deal: really easy to grab food back in the house, go to the bathroom, or eyeball your kids from the deck of the house. House is well managed and communication is great. There is a great pizza place 6 mins away where we picked up pizzas one night. Otherwise we enjoyed eating a cooking all our meals at the house. We will definitely rent here again.

Had a great 3-day break. Weather was chilly and windy but didn't stop beach walks or kite flying. The house was excellent. It was new, clean, well-appointed, plenty of space and well stocked with all the basics. I would not hesitate to rent again.

We came in with unusual low temps and pipes frozen. I was contacted several times with updates. James was brilliant with the plumber and made sure we were completely comfortable. Appreciate the quick response to questions!
