The owner and the staff are awesome. The room is excellent for what you pay. But the building is old and not renovated. The hotel is very secure. It has air conditioning and room cleaning every day. The cleaning staff is also very good. Thanks for mat the owner for welcoming guests with friendliness. I would like to stay again whenever I have a chance.

Older building is why 3 stars. Great staff and helpful.
Area is secure even at night for walking and has Sportsman bar/hotel a block away. Great value for budget minded person. There is a dermatology and foot doctor clinic around the corner on backside of hotel which I used. Hotel taxi to airport about 23 dollars.

Overall the hotel was pretty good but then night happens. They have a steakhouse/bar inhouse which stays open late and guests are as loud as they can be and none seems to get it under control.
Major part is other guests being rude, disregarding others but hotel should also step in esp after midnight when people are being rowdy.

Good quality place to stay for the price. Close to a lot of places. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is delicious and at bargain prices.

The rooms are dirty and smell and the bed had hairs in it and holes in the blanket

Their website said there was parking, which there was not. The last morning I got a parking ticket while the desk clerk watched instead of contacting me to move my car.

We had the lowest price room so I'm sure it is not an example of the entire hotel, that being said it was a fine room for the rate.
Dinner at the restaurant was excellent, one of the best Tenderloins I have had in Costa Rica

The hotel was good and in a very good spot. There is NOT a free breakfast and NOT a free parking. You have to pay for your breakfast and pay to park your car.

I know this hotel and enjoyed it again, the only inconvenience is sitting right on the commuter rail line, I had a 6:30 am appointment so I knew that would not be a factor and the room rate was great

My reservation was missing when we arrived at hotel, frontdesk was saying they ar fully booked but hotel was have empty, finally they found room for as , it was really in bad shape.

It was a nice hotel , great food and guest friendly exactly what I was looking for and will stay here again next time I'm in Costa Rica.

Modest hotel. Clean overall. Not a family hotel. The amount of escorts at the place was outrageous. I was supposed to stay two nights and stayed one night. As a traveler I have never experienced that type of ambience at a hotel.

It was ok, trains runs right next to hotel. Three story, no elevator. The menu is pretty good if you do inclusive, bar is way small. Their sister hotel Castillo has a huge bar etc and you can eat and drink there as well if you stay at Amistad but nobody was there when I walked over one night. For the price I would stay at Sportsmen’s a block away with a full bar and restaurant, it has more to do if you don’t feel like leaving the hotel.

I want to share a wonderful experience with my stay at Hotel La Amistad. It was my first time staying there and I will for certain stay there again. The staff was very friendly and always greeted me by name. Everything was very clean. The food was outstanding for such a small hotel.
