Just wonderful Mar 2024 Lovely location and room. We stayed total of 4 nights. Please note cars can not drive to the hotel front due to a narrow residential lane but if you call ahead the staff will come out to you to help transfer luggage (2min walk). Location is perfect, 100metre walk to beach and 300metre to main road where you can get an auto easily. Beautiful maintained garden / veranda area. Beds very comfortable and room clean. Aircon and ceiling fan . Kettle in room ,iron also in room. En-suite large wet floor type bathroom. One thing to note and not get alarmed is that the water in the toilet and shower comes from ground water and can be discoloured pale yellow depending on sea. 2 days the sea was really rough due to the new moon day so water was discoloured. We didn't have breakfast as we were out early each day before 0830, however continental breakfast can be requested from 0730 in advance. Free airport transfer can be booked (4min drive to domestic airport or 15min to international.

No full length mirror in the quadruple but I'm told that it will be put up soon.

Beautiful very large room with all amenities and a balcony overlooking the sea. Bijoy and his team are superb and make you feel part of their family.

It’s away from the centre so if that’s your thing you will need to get a tuk tuk driver. Bijoy has a designated driver at your disposal.

A little oasis near the beach. Bijoy and Aleena were fabulous hosts who were always available to answer your questions and advice on places to go. Clean spacious rooms, lots of places to sit and relax. Yummy breakfast and dinners.

Was hard to find fault with Santa Maria.

Manager Bijoy was very helpful with arranging taxis, tours and laundry. They changed menu every morning so you didn’t eat the same thing. Location was right on the beach, you can hear the waves. Auto rikshas available very close by to get to town.

It was difficult to find it as we arrived in the middle of the night. No signs pointing to it at the end of the road. Would be helpful to put a sign there.

The hosts were courteous and helpful. The rooms are neat and clean. The beach is right behind the property.

Nothing as such to dislike. Though the property is more of a homestay than a boutique.

It was giving you the feeling to come home, such a nice family taking care of any question I had!!!

(This was my 2nd stay in one month) and I selected this Airport Boutique because of the owner and his wife's hospitality. NOTHING was too much, in my time traveling around he gave me advice where to stay, and what to do. When I was getting 'lost' he arranged an taxi to pick me up and drop me to his hotel again, that's why I am back. I felt secure, safe and happy here. The location is absolutely close to the International-, domestic Airport terminal directly on the beach. Yesterday I walked to the domestic departures and this took me 10 minutes. I have never heard the noise of the airplanes because the waves took that noise away, and the flights leave in an other direction. There is a very good Old Coffee house almost next to the hotel where I eat my lunches: the best seafood I had in Kerla! Dinner I took in the Boutique hotel, freshly cooked for me! Nothing seems to much here, service Top Class! I can fully recommend people to stay here, it's good vallues for money, but staying with this wonderful family is an present extra.

Close to the airport. Right by the beach, so can hear the shore break. Good size room with a big bathroom and shower.

Had to walk with our bags from the end of the road down a pavement between the houses that was being dug up, to get to the hotel. Great quality shower but it had no wall fixing so had to hold the shower head whilst showering. No towels in our room so had to find some from the linen store early in the morning before we could shower. Beach looked lovely but we ventured down early morning for a possible dip & changed our mind when we saw all the rubbish washed up on the beach.

Nothing! What a disappointment!

Breakfast dreadful, staff ill tempered, only boiling hot water in sink (no cold)! Beach in front is filthy and premises look like a tsunami had just hit. Can't swim on beach. Car could not drive down the road to the homestay (NOT A BOUTIQUE HOTEL, AS DESCRIBED)! No instructions were given so finding it was challenging. Walls very thin so was kept awake by neighbours making noise. Very expensive and listing was totally misleading! A total disappointment!

Peaceful location, and view of beach and ocean were lovely. We had only two breakfasts and two evening meals bing a laye arrival, but the tuna cooked by Deepa was delicious!

I had laundry and asked if it would be ready in time to pack for an early departure the following day. I was assured it would but we only got it back next morning while waiting to leave, so I couldn't organise the packing! As soon as we reached our next destination, I opened it to check it was complete only to find it was damp, as though it had come straight from washing machine to packaging! I got it dry in limited space but if I hadn't opened it immediately, it would have smelt and developed mould patches so I wasn't too happy! Limited toiletries. Description is misleading; "boutique" normally applies to hotels so "homestay: should be specified.

Location If you have luggage then this is not the place to stay, You will have to walk quite a lot as there is no vehicle access to property.

Peaceful location,just behind the quiet part of the beach.Amazing hospitality from the hosts.They were really helpful in arranging the transfers and sight seeings.Definitely recommend.

Situated adjacent to the Shunghumugam beach, very quite location to relax after a long journey, clean bath and toilet, owner was there to receive us at midnight. Overall, excellent place to stay. Highly recommended!

Staffs and the cleanliness of the room.

Access to the property is very narrow. However, the staff was extremely helpful is carrying the luggage.

Excellent Homestay, value for money. Very close to shanmugam beach. One of the most cleanest places i have stayed. Good people Breakfast was exceptional and completes experience of a homestay

Fantastic setting and location. The hosts were very accommodating and generous. Bijoy arranged our travel to the airport even made sure we got off ok at 3:30am. The facilities were very comfortable and clean, and we enjoyed being be so close to the beach. The Santa Maria was a great find!

I never expected this kind of hospitality, it was outstanding. Breakfast was extremely delicious. I would really recommend this place for short vacations and for excellent view.
