Nice quiet English pub, great staff. Great stop over.

The shower drain smelt so had to keep the extractor on. Bed sheets were left in the hallway on arrival.

We were there just 1 night the staff were lovely the room was very comfortable and the breakfast was good and tasty a bigger selection of cereal would have been appreciated. The town was a little disappointing but there was a cinema .

Nice building but in need of a refresh. Our biggest issue was the cleanliness, the room was dirty.

A disappointing stay overall: the showers in two of the rooms (we were moved to a second room) didn't drain properly (to the extent that I had to turn the water off while shampooing and conditioning my hair to prevent it overflowing in what claimed to be a family room), and one member of staff was unnecessarily snappy regarding this. Yes, it is an old building, but if one person cannot have a shower properly, then the room should not be let, particularly for a family. For the price, the quality of breakfast was also poor.

Disappointing stay because there were bed bugs. The staff were friendly and helpful, changed rooms and gave a refund but that doesn’t feel enough when it was a known problem.

1) On arrival there was no restaurant available - no chef 2) The room was so very small with an enormous ceiling light fitting that hung too low! 3) Wardrobe door hanging off 4) Shower door hanging off 5) Hair dryer didn’t work 6) Mattress either needed turning, flipping or renewing! 7) Almost impossible to find a clean breakfast table, none had been cleared when I arrived on first morning, nor were they cleared during my time in there. 8) Waitress although very pleasant, on my first morning needed some serious training - I once owned and ran an hotel - waitress on morning two was completely different, far better however, I feel the establishment needs to upgrade it’s breakfast room procedures!

We couldn't sleep because of the bedbugs. Bed and sofa was full of bedbugs. We moved to our car to sleep because of bedbug bites.

The room was clean and tidy. Only fault was the TV didn’t work. The biggest asset of this property is staff. Absolutely everyone was so welcoming and made us feel immediately at home. The Chef even went shopping to pick me up some GF sausages for my breakfast. We will definitely return.

Overall the condition for this old building was ok, however we had room 4 and the net curtains at the window were all ripped. Also the window box under our bedroom window was full of weeds, some over 3 feet tall ... was not expecting this for an £89 room.

Stayed for one night in a luxury double room which was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. The en suite is lovely. Off site parking but is very close and very inexpensive. The breakfast was delicious definitely 5 🌟

Better than i expected. Not the best, but it is at the cost. Breakfast is limited but tasty. Service was good. Rather hot in the room even with the window open. Could hear the staff courtyard chat. Beer delivery 0800hrs which is a wake up call on a Tuesday if you are not up already. I did not eat the evening meal-so i cannot comment on the food, but looks good.

Room was fine and breakfast ok. No car park but there is parking on street and a car park very nearby (turn into where hospital is signposted and big car park on your right).

Pleasant hotel in the center of town so no on site parking. Room was a little on the small side but clean and had everything you'd expect. Wi-Fi was a bit hit and miss in my room so I relied on my phone signal which was OK. Restaurant was in the pub and they had a decent selection of food which was reasonably priced and not bad. Breakfast was freshly cooked so better than you get from most buffet style restaurants.

This was the third time we have stayed here as we have family in Wellington. Last time we had a room at the front of the pub and it was really noisy but this time we had room 1 which was a lot better. Lovely friendly staff and spotlessly clean room. Breakfast could be improved with the addition of some fruit and other cereals but overall it was good.

A weekend stay in a clean and comfortable hotel attached to a small pub/ restaurant. Friendly staff, good breakfasts (especially the Sunday omelettes) and the evening menu too. Our only sadness was we didn’t realise the restaurant didn’t open on Sunday evenings and we missed the roast dinners at lunch time! Parking outside on the road is free from 18.00 to 08.00 but outside this you need to park in the pay and display behind the shops opposite.

Great place staff food and drink, free street parking for 30 mins but between 1800 and 0800 no charge with no return within 30 minutes si in effect you need to be up and out by 830am or pay to park over road which is cheap anyway, don’t let that put you off!

Friendly staff and very clean room. There was no food available when we arrived but we got fish and chips next door and were able to eat it in the pub restaurant. We were given plates, cutlery and even mayonnaise!
