The photos of the beach cottage don’t come close to doing it justice! The inside of the cottage takes you back to a relaxing slower time. From the original wood beams and walls to the clawfoot bathtub. Each morning I looked forward to having coffee on the back porch while watching the sun rise and listening to the waves. I was able to relax immediately from work and normal life (which usually takes multiple days). The cottage was the perfect backdrop for a wonderful micro beach wedding just off of the back porch. I would 100% stay here again when I’m in the area. It was magical.

We loved the location being steps to the beach. As other reviews have stated, this is an original cottage but has been well maintained and is comfortable and well stocked. Great communication with the owner. We would definitely return!

Excellent location just steps from the beach. Rustic house, about 80 years old, but in great shape with all the modern conveniences. Could use a slight refresh in a few areas, e.g. new toilet seats and a better mattress, but overall a very good place to relax and enjoy the beach. Would definitely return in the future.

Exactly what we expected, old timey beach house right on the ocean. My wife and I have been coming here for over 25 years. If you are looking for every "modern" convenience, my guess is you'll be disappointed, but as far as quaint, romantic, rustic, and nostalgic goes, this is the place for you!

Good - the location is great, the wifi is good, the appliances are all new and good., the owner responds very quickly when contacted Bad - this is not a place to stay is the weather is cold. We had to get very creative and borrow space heaters to stay close to warm. There are in fact 2 bathrooms but only 1 shower - I would say there is 1 and 1/2 baths. The lighting in the house is very bad - don't count on reading in bed.

Owner very prompt with communication. Had some maintenance issues that she got right on top of, although Kips fix was temporary. Clean place, awesome porch. Could use quite a few additional amenities but I'll let Roxanne reach out to me privately. Just know there is no privacy in the home because it's all original wood boards between all the walls. So you can, and will, hear everything going on in every room. We are close friends and didn't care, but if you want privacy, this isn't for you. The master bedroom has a significant slant, so if you are at all unsteady on your feet, this might not work for you. Each room has it's own heat/AC which was very nice. No door between kitchen and front porch so we did struggle a bit with cold air intruding into living room [it was quite cold when we were there]. A simple curtain or door would greatly help keep heat and AC in. We loved the ambiance of the 1934 home, loved the location. Even made it through an intense storm, although we did have water intrusion via AC unit in the window in the master and water came in the bottom of the other windows. But, the storm was very intense. Overall I think you'd like it here.

My wife and I stayed for our 15th wedding anniversary. We were in such a peaceful spot on the beach and fell asleep to the waves crashing in on the sand. We will always remember this anniversary and left us longing for the next time we could come back again.

Loved this charming cottage on the beach! What a treat! The view is amazing, and it was super cozy. My husband and I left feeling relaxed and recharged. This place is an absolute jewel that leaves you pining to come back!

I was so excited to find a charming, quaint, beach cottage ! I was happy to see the cottage has been saved to share its history with us. I love homes that give a glimpse into a simpler life, and the owners have kept a jewel in this home. It is perfectly placed with a beautiful full oceanfront view. The porch was a place to relax. The home was prepped with all the essentials we needed. Great surf fishing, and sunrises! It was cozy and comfortable. The best mini vacation we have ever had. The December weather was amazing.

This is an original, historic beach house on Edisto Island with a $1 million view! We loved sitting on the back covered porch and enjoying the ocean view. Beautiful sunrises and warm enough in November!

What a lovely trip we had- the weather surprised us for November, and gave us a glimpse of a summer like stay. The location couldn’t be more perfect- you can watch the ocean all day long. You can sit in the shade or warm your body in the sun. Would definitely stay again.

The location was perfect and the house was nice. We did have a issue trying to figure out the lighting and what switches operated which lights. Also, there was some type of plant that has sharp points on it at the door to the outside shower. The floor did not appear to have been swept prior to arrival as there was an abundance of sand on the floors. All in all though we would stay there again.

This place is perfect if you are looking for sunrises on the beach. It has cabin vibes due to its special vintage roots as one of the oldest homes around there a neighbor informed us. My family would love to come back. For what it lacks in modern bells and whistles, it makes up for in charm, history, and superb location. The price was right too. Being able to afford a beachfront property allowed us to always be together and never have to leave anyone behind. Although this home isn’t your typical definition of “luxurious”, the real luxury is the time it gave my family together to relax and let concerns float out with the tide. Thank you, we would definitely stay again!

My wife surprised me with a Monday-Thursday stay, checking out on Thursday. To begin with, the house was perfect - it was only the two of us but it's a 3 bedroom with plenty of space; rustic, simple, cozy, right on the water and had all of the modern amenities. We really enjoyed sitting on the back porch and relaxing. To go swimming, it was maybe 75 yards from the water. We could hear the waves from the main bedroom. The television wasn't anything fancy, but it was equipped with streaming services. Most importantly to us, the property owner was wonderful. No one could have predicted the hurricane that came through on Wednesday (my birthday) into Thursday. She kept in touch. Power went out, roads were flooded and there was debris everywhere. To make sure we were safe, she allowed us to stay an extra day, check out on Friday. That meant the world. We loved the house, Edisto Island and hope to visit soon again. Great find by my wife.

This property was very clean and comfortable. The rustic charm gave the property a unique personality. Very close to the beach, exactly as pictured. Would stay again!

We had a fantastic time staying at the beach house. The home was perfect for our family. The home is conveniently located. We had direct access to the beach and a grocery store nearby. We loved staying at this beach house. It is an old Edisto beach house, with a wonderful back porch. It is right on the beach. Time just flew by. We are planning on coming back next year.

I love everything about this beach house. Right on the beach, literally steps away! so cute inside and the porch is perfect to hang out in the evening with the sea breeze. I love how they’ve kept all the original flooring and style. It felt like how a Beach House should be and used to be. The shower outside was the best!! Edisto and this house it so relaxing - really felt like we were all able to relax and enjoy our time together. Thank you for sharing your home! We are already talking about 10 days next summer!!

We did have few small issues but got response quickly . This is very Edisto which we loved ! Laid back and you could see the beach and few feet away . Definitely going back next year!
