Cueva de los Verdes is a series of caves created by volcanic eruptions and used as a local hideout to protect from pirate invasions. Both attractions are close to each other and found on the north side of the island in Punta Mujeres.
- Timanfaya National Park: Timanfaya National Park is an otherworldly natural phenomenon of volcanic peaks and craters. It’s highly advised to get there early, as it’s mighty popular and an experience not to be missed. A geothermal restaurant serves three-course meals cooked by the heat of the volcano. Camel tours on a short route are also available.
- Museo Atlantico: Located off the coast of Playa Blanca and accessible to snorkelers and scuba divers lies Museo Atlantico, the largest underwater museum in Europe. It opened in 2017 featuring a surreal collection of 400 sculptures by artist Jason deCaires Taylor, and was designed to attract marine life and vegetation.
- Teguise Market: 30 minutes up the coast from Playa del Carmen is the biggest market in Lanzarote, the Teguise Market. Everything is available here, from clothes and jewelry, to souvenirs and food. Find the best value for tourist goods on the island, but still expect to haggle prices.
