Pleasant

The waterfront location, beach area, and children's playgrounds were unbeatable! Individual cabins looked nice from outside but since we stayed in the waterfront 8-plex unit, we did not see inside the cabins.

Our unit in the 8-plex, which included a small "kitchenette" was adequately furnished. However, the unit had a lot of deferred maintenance issues (e.g., bathroom faucet aerator was so badly plugged, the water only sprayed out from the sides rather than down; the screen on one of the windows was bent and falling out; there was sand on the top sheet of the king side bed immediately beneath the blanket; the ceiling fan was extremely noisy; and broom and dustpan was not provided so was unable to remove the sand which was unavoidably tracked in from the beach.

Decent

Location, right on the water!

Very old chairs(ripped and faded) and furniture. Mattresses were also aged, very springy and loud. No dressers, or storage area and lack of hangers in small closet. Wifi was not working, decent place but pricey for what it was.

When we got there beds were not made. Had no towels water heater was located in middle of floor in.bathroom. shower was gross and dirty.

Perfect place to stay for a short visit or long vacation.

We had 5 couples arrive on bikes (Motorcycles) this past weekend. Stefan's R&R over exceeded our expectations. The location and accommodations were perfect. The place was spotless. The beach was beautiful, and the check in great. My only complaint is we didn't have a long enough visit. We will be back really soon!! You will not be disappointed!!

nice rustic cottages near beach, friendly staff. good vibes.

nice little rustic style resort by lake huron has everything needed

all cottages are not actually on the sand, but have a short walk to the beach. the septic system is touchy. no towels available, but luckily I read other reviews to know to bring some. well water, so bring drinking water if needed. not a deal breaker though.

the beach is amazing! the cabin exceeded my expectations as the other reviews on Google weren’t so great. our cabin was clean and comfortable.

The listing doesn’t have pics that are up to date so when we booked, I had no idea what to expect as we waited until last minute to find a place for a family reunion, I was very nervous the cabins are a bit older and need some updating. example: the fridge in Cabin 10 was rusty in and out and there are barely any electric outlets anywhere to plug phones or hairdryers in, but overall, I would stay there again.

This is more like camping than a hotel stay. The term resort really gives a different expectation.

It is about what was expected as we had stayed in the area previously. The lady who checked us in was nice and personable. The room was cleaned adequately. Plenty of chairs down by the water. Close to town.

Room wasn't ready at check in. Large ants in the room. Rust on the oven drawer handle. Shower was tiny, no shelf for soap, water pressure was not good. Our cabin was 20 yards from the road and probably 200 yards from the water. We left a day early to find better lodgings and ate the cost of a night's stay.

False advertising

Beautiful beach area

They didn't have any more of the double rooms i had booked, so they put us in a room with only one bed instead of two and gave a couple blankets for the kids to sleep on the floor. They didn't supply towels (even though their website said they would) and the bathroom was miniature

Beach (sand and water) was amazing!

The rooms were really small, bathroom was extremely small and toilet was barely working. Stove did not turn on. The whole resort was invested with bite flies (granted it was the entire area of Michigan that was experiencing this) but I believe there was something the resort could've sprayed to minimize the exposure of these flies. We sat inside most nights and our kids did not want to play as much because we were all getting bitten.

The location was super. The room itself, left alot to be desired

I did like the beach right at my backdoor.

when I got there I realized there was sand by the back door. The room was not properly cleaned before renting. Since it's on the beach, a broom would be nice to clean the floor when you go in or out. The sheets and pillow cases were frayed. The furniture was worn and dated and mismatched. there was no maid service like a "luxury resort" should have.

Beauty on a budget!!

We always have a great trip! It’s a great price for beachfront! We were a bit disappointed that the Cable did not work, but aside from that, it was great! We have stayed here before and will continue to!

Passable

The office lady was very sweet. The location is gorgeous.

The doors and screen on the water side were broken. There were about 6 beetles that we had to kill. TV didn't work. Room smelled musty and the beds were uncomfortable. Definitely needs attention and a little updating.

Cleans cabins and kiddos enjoyed it!

The location was great with the lake walking distance from the cabin. The cabin was clean and organized. Kid friendly, it had a little playground set for the kids to enjoy .Overall will definitely visit again!

The one thing that really needs updating are the bathrooms!

Very good

There was a small miscommunication at booking with the rooms (booked a room with a balcony and none were available on arrival). The owner happily fixed the issue and gave us a nice cabin, that we enjoyed. It was comfortable and the beach was nice. I would book with them again.

Didn’t stay because of the conditions.

Nothing about this place was good. It smelled bad and they must have known since there were at least three air fresheners in the tiny cabin/apartment. For what was paid it should have been 100 times nicer. The top of the small fridge was filthy, it was kind of decorated with Christmas things after I was told there were no longer themed rooms. The shower looked like it came out of an old camper and was filthy the toilet was from the 70’s (gross) and the water heater was practically in the center of the bathroom (unsafe). I don’t understand how this place has gotten any good reviews. The beds were unmade and the pillows were yellow. They charge upscale prices for a place that should be condemned. I don’t care that it was on the water. It could have been on the best beach in the world and still would not be worth the amount of money they charged. Or make me want to stay there ever. There is a huge difference between retro/vintage themed and just plain dark,old, smelly, and unsafe.

The confirmation was very misleading. My confirmation said a 2 bedroom apartment with balcony ended up being two one bedroom cabins connected, 19 inch tube tv and only seating in living room for 3 people. No view of beach just highway.

First off, I picked this 1 for location and it was last minute. Price was $199 a day. But when I checked in they charged me $299 a day. She told me it was the FEE of "Booking" but it was the only way to book cottage. THAT IS ABSURD and will never book thru them again. This must be why on the actual site it tells you "no prepayment necessary, pay when you check in" Second, when we got in it didn't look bad but when we sat on couch, chair or love seat they were covered in sand, so we had to put sheets on them just to sit. The cottage is furnished with bare minimum. 2 dinner knives, no spatulas a couple of pans and nothing to clean up after yourself. I had to go out and buy sponges and dish towel to get thru 2 days. I brought my own towels to bathe but that was it. All in all I would not recommend this place

Our stay was fun and relaxing while making memories that’ll last a lifetime. Thx!

The staff go above and beyond to make sure you have what you need! Very friendly. Definitely has that comfortable family-friends vibe.

Was told pets aren’t allowed and another family brought their 2 dogs during our stay. Many sites allow this since it is a typical Michigan summer spot for families. There are plenty enough of cabins to at least designate 1-2 to pet friendly.
