I love staying here as a base for my hiking.

The staff was fantastic and the room was very neat and clean. They only have one restaurant and it didn’t have a lot of options. This was only a problem for us because we were in the Appalachian mountains and there really wasn’t any place to eat nearby. The view of the mountains was fantastic from our room as well as, the reception area and restaurant

Beautiful property inside and out. Everything was neat and clean. Staff was very friendly. Food was not great, but it wasn’t so bad that I would give it a negative rating. I just wish I could order something other than the buffet.

What did I say? This is the most beautiful hotel I’ve ever stayed at. I cannot wait to come back.

This beautiful hotel was on top the mountain with an amazing view. We enjoyed sitting in the lobby next to the fireplace. It was nicely decorated and most of staff were friendly and welcoming but the room was unbelievably dirty. Every area in the room and bathroom was full of dust and I think they never cleaned it up prior to our visit. Also, the bedding quality was very poor. The bed skirt was falling apart and pillows were so old and uncomfortable and sheets were not clean. We talked to the front desk when checking out and made suggestions about checking behind the cleaning staff after they are done with their work before checking in new guests.

I have wanted to stay here for quite some time and my husband and I were finally able to. The property was beautiful. We had an incredible view of the mountain range. The staff was extremely nice and accommodating. The bed was too firm for my liking but my husband slept great. The room overall was very nice. My only complaint is the restaurant on property. The service was extremely slow and the choices on the buffet were not to our liking. Other than that I would say our stay was successful and we would love to come back.

First off, I will never come here again. I booked through hotels, came here for a change of scenery after a bad year and was completely treated poorly by the front desk staff and hostess on new years eve. We never got to eat because they were closing in 20 minutes while the hostess was doing who knows what for about 10 minutes just to come back and tell us we couldn’t eat except the snacks that they provided for their New Year’s Eve Party that you have to pay $20 to get into. Anything nearby is about 30 minutes away so make sure you bring snacks because after 8pm you’re on your own. Also hotels mentioned that there was no complaints ever mentioned when there was complaints that were made at the front desk. Terrible service. NEVER again. They just want your money. Also there’s only one trash can in the hotel room and it is tiny.

The dining could be better. Only my opinion. We enjoyed everything about the property including the wonderful staff.

The lodge is situated high up, providing great views from our room and the lobby. The building is very nice looking and the staff we interacted with were very nice. Our only complaint is that the bathroom floor is very sticky, I'm guessing due to the specific cleaning product used. Other than that, our room js clean and we are very happy so far.

Beautiful location! It was very clean and family oriented.

It was beautiful scenery, however the hotel is not up to code and with a ladder greater than 7 feet with not enclosure not safe, we had to get more towels and wash cloths. The buffet as I am a diabetic closed 20 minutes early and I was refused and my two children service. I would like a full refund. I wish someone would call me.

Nice hotel, but really expensive. The common areas were absolutely beautiful. Our room had a loft, but the railing was loose and the ladder for it was a bit sketchy. There were areas where the carpet was loose too. It's peaceful. The nearest store is a 30 minute drive. The only snacks available in the hotel were in the gift shop if you got in before it closed. It does have a restaurant that is popular for Thanksgiving dinner which was a buffet and the food was decent. Breakfast was not free. The room did not have a microwave. The only soda machine was on the 4th floor. No snack machine. The guest microwave was in the 3rd floor "vending" area. Overall, it was really like an overpriced college dorm with private bathrooms. The people who decide on amenities should really stay at other similarly priced hotels and learn about soap, shampoo, microwave, snacks, etc. I could pay less at a Holiday Inn and have a free hot breakfast, full size soap and shampoo bottles, and buy midnight snacks at the front desk. This hotel sits on top of a mountain with a giant waterfall that I could have explored without staying at the hotel. Overall the state park was awesome! But the hotel associated with it is overpriced for what they actually provide guests.

Quaint little lodge with a beautiful view. Don’t expect extra pillows or blankets this was unavailable on our stay. The restaurant is understaffed but good if you are willing to wait. Location is great because you can walk to the top of the falls. Bed was comfortable just bring your own pillow.

We stayed there the night of October 28th and the view was absolutely beautiful! The hotel was nice, but the cleanliness was horrible!! There was toothpaste spit still on the mirror from previous stay, there was someone elses hair all in the bathtub, there was mold that you can see all in the sink when sitting on the toilet. Bathtub walls was filthy and had hair and dirt spots on them. Mold all on the edges, I was not pleased at all. I had to vlean the shower before i even got in it to bath myself.

All great except "buffet only" restaurant. 30 minutes to the nearest alternative so - know before you go.

Spent our anniversary night here and the property and staff were excellent. The view from our first floor room was spectacular and it was nice to have chairs to sit outside and take in the wonderful view.
The dining however was a little disappointing. It's convenient sure, but for the price it could've been better. Both breakfast and dinner are served buffet style but dinner doesn't offer many choices and the vegetables (collard greens) lacked seasoning. Breakfast was just a typical continental breakfast offered at any hotel but this one charges 12.00 per person. And please if you put sausage gravy on the buffet line, include biscuits!

Staff were so very friendly! On checking in the gentleman at the desk let me know there was a fruit/cheese tray in our fridge as I had mentioned we were celebrating our 49th anniversary. That was so sweet. In the dining room, Emily was amazing! Friendly and knowledgeable and such a pleasure to get to know her. Thanks for a wonderful time and we hope to celebrate the big 50th next year!!!

The view from the room was beautiful. Lack of customer service. Lack of professionalism.
No dining options in area so your left to eat in their cafeteria style restaurant that is overpriced. No microwave in room. Many reviews raved about how romantic this place is. Not so as there were toddlers and young kids and families that took control over common areas.

Great lodge, gorgeous views, good base whether relaxing or hiking the state park’s many trails. Our room had an amazing view which was enhanced daily at sunset. The lodge’s outdoor patios and decks were so nice. Well kept, clean, and staff was pleasant.
But huge downfall for us was the food. One restaurant which only serves buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast was $15/person of what a Springhill Suites will give you for free. Make your own waffles, rubbery eggs, bacon and sausage that they tried to keep hot in perspiring lidded pans. We didn’t even try the buffet dinner after walking through and viewing it - huge turn off. Sadly, no other dining options except for running down mountain for lunch of sandwich, yogurt or humus at Visitor’s Center. No microwaves in room, one on floor by ice machine. We drove half hour for meals in surrounding towns and made our own breakfasts.
This lodge has incredible potential. It’s so nice but they need a chef, some cornhole out on the lawn, a ranger or knowledgeable person to lead stargazing with a telescope, and some more activities other than a glass of wine with a view and a puzzle on a table for at night when the hikes are done.

We felt in love with the place, the scenery was the phenomenal view from the view inside our room and outside. The only thing I can say need to upgrade the bathroom door.. you can hear the fart out the bathroom..😂

We visited the lodge on a rather popular weekend so it was rather crowded with people. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves and the amenities of the Lodge. Downside to staying at the lodge is there is only one option for eating on the property and that is the buffet. We were not told there was a senior discount available until our last two days and this was by a server. We will return but will time our visit to mid week and not weekends. There were several groups staying and pretty much took over common areas though the weather also had influence on numbers in the area.
