Mike & Kristen’s Penn Lakes house was perfect for our two-family ski trip. Our six kids ages 5-12 had a giant slumber party upstairs while the two adult couples were comfortable in the two downstairs bedrooms. There was also plenty of space for preparing and eating meals and for playing board games and watching movies. The ~15 min trip to Jack Frost ski resort was convenient, as well. White Haven is great little town. We plan to return!

Great time really enjoyed the lake

We enjoyed our stay on Penn Lake! The house is well maintained and very clean, with a great kitchen and a beautiful porch overlooking the yard and lake. The property is spacious with excellent access to the water with kayaks and a canoe. And there are all kinds of activities within driving distance, including hiking, amusement parks, etc. The closest town leaves something to be desired, but it has enough to get you through your trip.

Beautiful property with outstanding view & access to lake. House has all the amenities you could ask for but we seriously spent 98% of the time kayaking, hiking, tree swinging & sitting by the fire! We hope to be back soon! Hosts are awesome too!

We loved the cottage on the lake! So peaceful and relaxing to sit out back and enjoy the beautiful weather, views, and amazing sunsets by campfire. The cottage was well stocked with all the necessities and had ample space for my family. Nestled in a quiet, friendly community. We enjoyed walks, kayaking, fishing, canoeing and swimming. Kristen was available by text to answer all of my questions and provided prompt responses. I would highly recommend this rental property for anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway!

Kristen & Mike were the perfect hosts. Their house is in the best location. It is so relaxing to sit on the porch and look at the lake. It is a great house. My family went hiking, canoeing & kyacking . We are planning on returning next summer. Judy & Michael

The house had everything (no need to bring any kitchen utensils, kayaks, chairs, etc). Everything has been thought off, is well-labeled, and you can’t beat the setting. Kristen and Mike were excellent hosts and they have a beautiful place. Looking forward to returning as soon as we can!

The only problem was the bathroom upstairs, the water comes out of the bathroom and you must enter before opening the tap

We had a really good time here. The view of the lake is mesmerizing. The house was clean and had all the appliances we needed.

This was the perfect house for a group of 6 adults, but would also be great for families staying with children. The house is immaculate and had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed watching the sun set above the lake at night. Would absolutely stay again.

This is one wonderful house! Immaculately clean, comfortable, stocked with everything you can think of from the kitchen, board games, fussball table, fire pit, canoe, kayaks, a great back porch overlooking the lake with amazing sunsets, a hammock and the best swing for kids! Beds were totally comfortable. It was wonderful having a fireplace in the living room,. We were there in Nov. so even though it was warm we did not go swimming so can’t comment on that. It’s more like a cottage that just felt like home the moment we walked in the door. Everyone loved everything about it! We went on an amazing hike at Ricketts Glenn State Park (an hour drive but so worth it) to a 94 foot waterfall with many other ones on the way. We went to the Boulder field at Hickory Run. The rest of the time we just enjoyed the house and yard, played games, walked to the neighborhood park with our grandson, went boating. The owners were so responsive, left paper goods and soap for us, emailed things to do. My grandson, who is 8, said, as we were leaving, “we have to rent this house again!”. And we all totally agreed! Thank you Kristen and Mike!

The Fisher house was wonderful. Beautiful property, kitchen has great upgrades and everything you need to cook like you would at home. We took my parents and our teenage children. Would come back again anytime.

I relaxed while my kids and grandkids enjoyed skiing and the Kalahari water park. The house is very accommodating and family friendly.

The cottage was lovely. Nicely appointed and everything was very comfortable. We were warm and cozy during a snow storm with lots of space to move around.

Excellent amenities and comfortable clean rooms and furnishings, we loved the waterfront, nearby shopping, horseriding, Bear Creek Café, Crayola Factory and playground/beach. No complaints and would recommend to a friend.

Plenty of space for 4 adults and 8 children. We had campfires every night, lots of fishing, kayaking, and games. Such a relaxing vacation and the kids played outside 99% of the time!

We had lovely time at the Fisher's on Penn Lake. Prompt responses form the Fisher family while booking, and also with information package. Security deposit refund processed within 24 hours. The house is easy to find and was equipped with all that you would need. Fast internet speed was appreciated by the young ones. We used the kayaks every morning, and also used the fire pit. Three season room is nice to sit and read with view of the lake. The lake is nice and peaceful. No noisy power boats and jet skies. I will definitely recommend to friends and family.. Tina

This is the second time we have rented this property; the description is true. Improvements have been made since the last time we were here four years ago. We had terrible rain several days that week, but we did fish, kayaked and swam from the beach area too. I would recommend this property to anyone- families or groups.

This home is everything we were looking for in a weekend getaway. The house was clean and cozy, and we especially loved the separate bedrooms and the loft! The house is very homey and the kitchen was spacious with amazing views of the lake. The hammock was a well-loved feature of the home, along with the fire pit. The kids loved kayaking and swimming in the lake. Definitely one of the best lake houses we have stayed at and we will definitely be booking again in the future!

We had an amazing time at the Penn Lake house! The house was very clean and was spacious enough for our two families. The kids loved swimming and fishing in the lake. We kayaked and used the row boat. We loved roasting marshmallows at night and then hanging out around the campfire after the kids went to bed! Ricketts Glen was amazingly beautiful and worth the hour ride. The hiking was great and the waterfalls were gorgeous! Thank you for a memorable vacation!!

I rented this place out for a few days to get away from the City. The view of the lake upon getting there was incredible. The kayak onsite as well as the nearby hiking trails really kept everyone entertained. The kitchen was also great for cooking large meals. Everyone slept very comfortably and had plenty of space as well. I will definitely come back here next time!

This is the second year in a row that we have stayed at this marvelous home and we will be returning next year and for years to come, God willing! This home has all the needs of both adults and children. We have been blessed the past two years to have our two daughters and their husbands, as well as our 3 year old twin grandsons all stay at this home, with more than enough room for us all. From the swinging hammock to the scenic views of the lake and its surroundings, this location is extremely relaxing! The home is well-maintained and the owners have made certain that any and all information (and I mean ALL information), as well as standard personal items, are at one's fingertips. The owners kept in contact with us prior to our arrival to see if we had any last minute questions and I would certainly recommend this property to all of my friends and relatives. The center of the town of White Haven is just a stone's throw away (via a highway so I wouldn't recommend walking), with a nicely stocked supermarket, pharmacy, ice cream shop, pizza shop, etc., but if you needed to go to a larger store, Wegman's, for instance, it's only a 30 minute ride. The owners have also provided information at the house regarding surrounding attractions so that there is no need to go to any visitor's center to obtain same. The internet connection for all 6 adults at the same time was excellent. The lake is beautiful and the weather cooperated with us so that we were able to take our grandsons to the beach and out for a row boat ride around the lake. We all made use of the kayaks that are also provided. It's a wonderful place to stay and, as this review has been titled, for us, is transcending into what we are all praying will be a family tradition for years to come!!! There is not one thing about this property that I would change or can even think of that would make it a better place to stay!!!

We had a lovely stay at Mike and Kristen's. The house has a great layout, and it was nice that our group of 12 had plenty of space to spread out and different rooms to converse and play in. The house is fairly child proofed as well. There aren't many decorations or danger spots to worry about other than stairs. We had five kids all under five with us, and it was nice to not worry about them touching, climbing or breaking something. The lake water is very shallow off the dock, so they were able to enjoy playing in the water as well. The yard was very large, and perfect for them to run around in. Mike and Kristen provided us with an information packet before our stay that had tons of information in it, so we were pretty informed with not only the house, but the area as well. We did contact them at one point during our stay and Kristen immediately called the house to talk to us, and then followed up on our call later that day. She seems very committed to her guests having a good time, which is really nice. Overall it was the perfect place for our needs, and we would absolutely stay again!

Kristin answered any of our questions right away. Beautiful view as soon as you walked into the kitchen. Great directions to everything they had available to us. WiFi, board games, and any other activities were right at our finger tips. Would highly recommend a stay here if you haven’t already. Thanks Kristin look forward to another stay.

This house was amazing, it was enough for my group of 11 adults. The house was extremely comfortable and extremely cozy. The directions were very clear and nothing was lacking. Kitchen was extremely well stocked, living room had a nice TV, fireplace, and space for games. They had a nice fire pit outside that faces the lake. It was below freezing when we went and the lake was beautiful to look at when the sun was setting! I highly recommend this place. Kristen was very responsive and helpful...she answered all my emails within a few hours of it being sent!
