We spent a delightful couple of weeks in West Bay, initially celebrating my 70th birthday and then exploring the island's incredible range of attractions.
The house had everything, from heated swimming pool to gas barbecue and pizza oven, from table tennis table to indoor gym. It is also situated close to a nice beach with great snorkelling and rock pooling and the Heritage Kitchen, a small shack selling the best home-cooked mahi-mahi and lobster, best enjoyed with a beer whilst watching the sun set. It really could not have better.
Kathy, the host, was always just a WhatsApp message away and the one issue we had (aircon failure) was sorted immediately. Fatima, the housekeeper, was also most helpful and looked after the children on one occasion whilst we had an evening out in George Town.
We found a great small boat hire (Cachas Stewart aka Super C -Jah Bless Charters) for fishing and trips to the Stingray sandbar and coral reefs. Best beaches were Smith's Cove and Rum Point, in addition of course to Seven Mile Beach. Above all the people are so friendly and eager to help, even more so than other Caribbean islands we have visited. Can't wait until I'm 80 and have an excuse to return! Highly recommended.

This property is very special. Close enough to the attractions while secluded to provide privacy. The hosts did not miss any amenities. Paddle boards, bikes, kayaks and top end appliances. The heated pool was a real bonus and we will talk about the She Shed for years.

We were originally scheduled to be in the Cayman Islands the summer of 2020 to celebrate our oldest daughter’s graduation from high school. Unfortunately, the world shut down and our trip was canceled. We postponed for three years to 2023 and also timed out to celebrate our younger daughter’s graduation from high school. The beautiful Clearwater house fit us perfectly, our party of eight (our family of 5+3 well mannered boyfriends). Kathy set us up perfectly with all the right recommendations to maximize everything the island had the offer. The house was very clean, the pool and gazebo area are incredible. I loved using the handheld weights a few mornings and got all the kids to do water aerobics at one point. The kitchen is well appointed with nothing missing (we did sharpen the knives to ensure our limes were cleanly cut :)) I would highly recommend this comfortable and perfectly located home to a party of 8-10.

This was our families first trip to Cayman. With children ranging in age from 7-19, we wanted to make sure everyone had plenty to do! Kathy is such a valuable resource. The reviews don’t begin to describe how much easier she makes planning a trip. We felt like we had a friend in Cayman the entire trip. She even found us after we checked out to return some stuffed animals we left behind. We rent through VRBO at least once a year and have never had this great of an experience! We can’t wait to return to Cayman and will certainly stay at this house again!

Clearwater House is fantastic. We were only able to stay a few days but it was truly amazing - long story of having to move accommodations but glad we did because once we arrived our vacation was finally perfect. So close to the beach, fab pool (heated !!), grill, ping pong, nice sheets, awesome beds too. For a family you can’t ask for a better time.
I know we will be back because our kids had such a great time and will be talking about it for years. They couldn’t believe the snorkeling - Thanks Kathy!

We love the Clearwater House!
Our family absolutely LOVED spending Christmas this year at Clearwater House in Grand Cayman! Not only was the house incredibly clean and beautifully decorated, but there were just so many extra little things that really made our stay wonderful. Our family especially appreciated the privacy of the property. We spent so much time outside by the pool, having outdoor dinners, and playing ping pong tournaments in the gazebo. And the famous Seven Mile Beach was just a short walk up the driveway and across the street. The snorkeling was amazing! We were very close to the Kimpton hotel which has a COVID testing center so it was easy to get our tests done while we were there. The house is also located near a pharmacy and a grocery store which was very convenient. We cooked some of our meals at home and I was thrilled with the kitchen. It had everything I needed and then some. We also visited some great restaurants that were only a short drive away. Overall, we just loved spending time in this home. We have 8 in our family, and we had plenty of space. I can’t say there was anything I would change about our experience at Clearwater House. We will definitely be back!

Fabulous House for a 50th Girls Getaway!
Perfect home for a a college reunion weekend to celebrate our milestone bday year! The house was updated, clean and decorated beautifully. Kathy took excellent care of us - checking in on us throughout the weekend, offering rides and even taking a few of us out snorkeling. The house had plenty of room for the 9 of us with a well-equipped kitchen for cooking. It is a very short walk to the beach access road - and the beach is quiet and secluded. We easily walked down beach to eat/shop at some of the hotels on 7 mile beach but there are also dining options closer to house - or within a short cab ride. Kathy had some great dining suggestions! We LOVED our visit to Grand Cayman and hope to be back soon!

Our FAVORITE place just got better - loved Clearwater House!
This was our 4th trip to Grand Cayman, a place we truly love, and first time renting a home versus staying in a resort. It was the absolute best experience. The house is perfect, well appointed and immaculate. Everything is top notch from the amenities provided to the care and attention you receive from the owner. Kathy went above and beyond in a way we could not anticipate - offering babysitting services, picking up dinner for us if we got lazy and wanted to stay in and directing us to the best places and experiences we had. The beach is a true 2-3 minute walk and you cannot beat the privacy. Compared to a resort this was a true island experience of peace and tranquility. The supermarket and liquor store are around the corner, 3-4 minute drive and have everything you'd need. You can walk to Heritage Kitchen in 2 minutes and have the days freshest catch 5 different way. You will not regret your stay at the Clearwater House - our party of 7 had the best time, plenty of room and just wish we could have stayed longer. We will be back!

We had a group of 4 couples - property was beautiful and clean. Kathy could not have been a more helpful and friendly host. She gave us lots of great advice on places to go and things to see. We had an incredible and relaxing vacation and would definitely love to return!

Be prepared to have the vacation of a lifetime!
Wow! I cannot say enough about our customized and indulgent experience at with Kathy Dearmond. We were a family of two adults and four young adults (ages 19-22). From the moment we arrived at Clearwater House we felt doted upon. The warm welcome, recommendation of a local restaurant, and tour of the water toys (paddleboards, kayaks, snorkels and sized-fins) were just the beginning. Pot Pie (rescue chicken) visited us daily by the pool which we were in every day. Home-baked chocolate chip cookies were waiting on the counter one afternoon. Fresh towels, a recommendation of a local doctor, and a lift to somewhere special were commonplace.
After unbelievably breathtaking sunsets at the beach (3 minute walk from their home), most of our evening meals were made together in the cozy kitchen outfitted with all the necessities while we played our personal music favorites via the Sonos system. One evening we dined in the Pavilion, most of the evenings around the dining room table or by the pool. After dinner the “kids” found their favorite movies on the Apple tv in the Living Room or hung out in the hammocks under the coconut trees. Twice we went to the beach later in the wee hours to view the baby turtle parade from their nest to the ocean. My daughter captured a mama turtle laying her eggs via video on her phone.
Snorkeling at Smith Barcadere and jumping from those ironshore rocks (yes, even mom!) was priceless-- as were the photos Kathy took of our family. Yes, she not only recommended the experience, she drove us and was our personal photographer! As for meal outings, we enjoyed the Monday night all-you-can-eat barbeque at Macabucca’s and an over-the-top, delicious, and most memorable Farm to Table meal at Cayman Cabana with Luigi.
Also, during our time here, two of the boys got SSI certified with their open water dives with Tommy at Sunset Divers (18 minute drive). With Kathy’s encouragement (and connections), my daughter started and finished her PADI certification at SunDivers with Piotr (10 minute drive). The culmination of these certifications was a 3-hour boat trip with CU Divers today (which Kathy arranged, and also joined us). We dove at Haunted House and Queen’s Throne, which were both favorites of the divers because of visiting “the wall” and seeing a 25” shark; but the sandbar visit where we all snorkeled will never be forgotten as it was like swimming in an aquarium. This place looks awesome on the web, but it is actually BETTER in person. I was worried about the walk to the beach because I had watched the video they posted. It is actually WAY shorter than that video seems. The pool is huge and our 1,3,7,8,9 year old kids that were on the trip had an AMAZING time. They could snorkel right off the beach that was such an easy walk. THANK YOU SO MUCH for such a lovely stay. <3

Kathy was fantastic from day one. Helped pick us up at the airport, showed us around, took us to the grocery store, even let us use her car one day. The house itself was great, absolutely as described. Perfect location. Cannot think of one thing that did not meet or exceed expectations

A little bit of paradise!
Clearwater House exceeded our expectations! The home was perfect for our family of 9. It was tastefully decorated and had everything we could have needed. From baking powder in the kitchen to snorkels, masks and fins for the beach, which was a very short walk from our driveway. Because we weren’t at a resort, we had to tote chairs and umbrellas to the beach. There were carts available.
Kathy was so helpful. She even escorted us to a great snorkeling site one day. She’s around if you need anything but is not intrusive at all.

Awesome House
This property is awesome. Great, quiet location just steps from 7 mile beach. Kathy was great! She gave us great advice and helped us set up some excursions. Our group was two families consisting of kids from 10-17. We had plenty of room and the kids loved the pool. There were all kinds of stuff for us to use at the beach (kayaks, paddle boards, snorkeling gear and chairs). We had a blast and hope to go back to the Caymans again. We will definitely check with Kathy when we plan on returning. I would definitely recommend this property.

Fabulous House, Awesome Location & Wonderful Trip
All of the reviews are spot on. The house was beautiful, perfectly located on the island, comfortable, and Kathy was terrific about quickly responding to our questions both prior to arrival and while we were there. She also gave us some stellar recommendations about where to go dinner (Catch and Ristorante Pappagallo were our two favorites; in fact, we went to Catch back to back nights. The second night they had live music too). It's not often that a property not only meets expectations, but exceeds them, but this one did. Thanks so much, Kathy and Tim! We hope to see you again.

Fabulous family vacation!
Simply a wonderful home and delightful owner making for a fabulous vacation! Very clean and beautiful home, a short walk to the pristine beach where we used beach chairs and snorkels from Clearwater House. We enjoyed the grill, pool and privacy - and of course who wouldn't love the hammocks under the palm trees. Easy walk to nice restaurants and grocery store. We could bear to leave only with the hope we may return.
Above all, we enjoyed our new friend Kathy who ensured we had a perfect vacation at Clearwater House!

Perfect house for family trip to Caymans!
My husband and I stayed here with our 3 young kids in February, and absolutely loved this house - and Kathy and Tim! The house itself is beautiful and clean, and has every amenity/necessity that you could think of. You can tell a lot of thought was put into stocking the house for guests, and it is taken care of like a family home, not a rental. The grounds are amazing and had so much to do without leaving the house, it was definitely a relaxing retreat. They have everything that you could want for fun and adventure right on the property, we loved using the wagons to take chairs and gear down to the beach. It was so nice having Kathy and Tim nearby to help with things like restaurant suggestions, snorkeling spots, and even chopping a coconut down for the kids! We would love to visit again, and bring other family with us to this house - plenty of room for everyone and a perfect spot to spend some time in Cayman!

Great house, great location, great host, great time!
You can't go wrong with this place! We traveled with 9 adults for a 50th birthday celebration and it was one of our favorite vacations ever. The house was beautiful inside and out. The location was on the best part of the island where you're out of the crowds in the heart of Georgetown, but close enough that it's easy to get to. The beach was a very brief walk across the street. Kathy was a great hostess and gave us great tips and connections for eating, drinking, snorkeling, scuba diving, boat trips, and more. She has lots of toys at the house such as kayaks, snorkel gear, and paddle boards that you can take right to the beach. We took the paddle boards out to the Kittiwake shipwreck and snorkeled there...it was amazing! There's a great pool and screened in gazebo with a grill, couches, chairs, etc so it's perfect for just relaxing and hanging out. I rented a 9 person van while on the island so we could explore this beautiful island. I can't say enough of how great this place was...we are definitely going back and staying at the Clearwater House!

Best 60th birthday celebration ever
We had an amazing stay at the Clearwater house. The name says it all, the beach is a short walk away and the snorkeling is perfect. The house was fully stocked and just so well appointed. Anything you could ever want or need was right there. Kathy was a joy to get to know and full of information. Hopefully we can come back again soon!

Clearwater House
My family of 9 stayed over Christmas and New Years at the Clearwater home. It is an excellent home that has the privacy of a gated community and the access to the beach of a beach resort. Kathy made sure we got everything we needed and was very helpful with local information. The house is in great shape and is perfect for a family of 8-10. I would definitely use Kathy again for renting a vacation home.

What an amazing place!! Our family of five and another family of four stayed together at The Clearwater House for spring break and it was an absolutely magical vacation. The location of the home, the beautiful decor and the countless "extras" included in this rental absolutely exceeded our expectations. Kathy was such an amazing host, making sure everything from the pool deck to the snorkeling equipment was in tip top shape during our stay at the house. She also provided us with several great restaurant and activity recommendations. The location of Clearwater House is absolutely perfect with a grocery store a short drive/walk away, beautiful snorkeling right off the beach and amazing sunsets every night. My girls loved the pool, the hammocks, the iguanas, the spacious bedrooms, I could just go on forever. Thank you Kathy for making this such a memorable spring break for us and our girls. We will be back!!!

This was our second time visiting the Kathy & Tim's Clearwater House. The house is beautifully appointed, comfortable, has everything you need from the kitchen to the snorkel gear and truly one of the best locations on the island. You have a very short walk to awesome snorkeling and a private beach, a big pool for lazy afternoons, and very short drives to the best restaurants on the island. The best part of the house though is Kathy & Tim who are wonderful, gracious hosts and give excellent recommendations on everything from restaurants to snorkel sights. Visiting them is like visiting family....can't wait for our next trip to Grand Cayman!

We enjoyed a week of family (10) vacation in this wonderful house and the location was great. We were just across the road from seven mile beach; an easy walk to some great snorkeling. It is conveniently located for a terrific local restaurant as welll as a major grocery store for supplies. The snorkeling just steps away was wonderful. The home itself is very well taken care of and everything you might need is available from cooking to items needed for time in the water. Kathy, is always available for help or advise - no matter what your needs. The home has a beautiful pool - it is difficult to decide what to do - pool or ocean! We certainly would return to this lovely home.

The location is great. A car is necessary for exploring the island but our family enjoyed spending the day at the beach area snorkeling and hanging at the pool. The snorkeling is really amazing: kids saw squid, blue tang, lobsters and tons of reef fish. House has everything you need and linens and amenities are all very nicely done. Don't hesitate to book and if you are lucky enough to see Kathy on island take all her recommendations.

I typically do not give positive reviews to places we stay as it increases competition for future rentals but this is an exception. A typical day....coffee by the beautiful pool, after breakfast we head to the beach, some of us then swim out to the reef for a +/- hour snorkel. Lunch, several times we went to the local Heritage Kitchen for grouper (excellent). Mid afternoon back to the house and the pool which gets some afternoon shade(good for the kids and all to get out of the sun). The house accommodated 10 of us comfortably. The kitchen had everything we needed. With 10 of us the washer & dryer were used daily and the beds were very comfortable. Probably the best feature of all was Kathy, the owner. She will go out of her way to make sure you have a great stay....recommendations for restaurants, Stingray City, shopping.....if you have a question, just ask Kathy. We definitely want to go back

We had an excellent time in the Caymans. Our first time there, we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Kathy is an excellent host and has taken care of the finest of details from Q=tips to Sharp Knives in the kitchen. Lots of Bath and Pool Towels, Beds are comfortable, TV's in every room, Internet Surround Stereo. Plenty of room for the 8 of us to spread out. House is well maintained and well stocked. We would stay here again without a doubt. We have stayed in many getaway homes and resorts and would rate this with the Gold Crown Quality! Debbie
